Pulmonary edema frequently occurs after severe burn. It not only impairs pulmonary function directly, but also can induce or exacerbate other pulmonary complications such as lung infection, acute lung injury ( ALI), and ARDS. Extravascular lung water (EVLW) is closely related to the pulmonary edema. Dynamical monitor of EVLW has been used to predict and quantify the degree of pulmonary edema clinically. This review focuses on the recent progresses at home and abroad on the formation mechanism, monitoring approach, and prevention and treatment of EVLW after severe burn injury.

Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2015;39(2):118-121
As a tumor thermal ablation technology in cancer therapy, HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) has been developed rapidly in recent years. With the technology becoming more and more mature, it's clinical application is becoming more and more widely. In HIFU therapy, the high-intensity ultrasound energy is focused in the target tumor tissue, generating heat within very short time, causing coagulation necrosis, so that the effect of the treatment is achieved. To ensure safe and therapeutic efficacy, HIFU therapy needs to be properly monitored by medical imaging, and temperature in the target has to be precisely measured, this article is based on the current domestic and foreign detection methods of the focal region temperature.

Journal of Practical Radiology 2001;0(07):-
Objective To evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of percutaneous intratumor injection of gene-immunotherapy combined with capacitive radio-frequency hyperthermia treatment for advanced lung carcinoma under CT guided. Methods Thirty-one unresectable peripheric lung carcinomas(29 men and 2 women,10 squamous carcinomas,15 denocarcinoma and 6 alveolus carcinomas) in clinical Ⅲ~Ⅳ stage were undergone percutaneous intrastumor injection of H101 and ⅠL~Ⅱ under CT guided, and repeated at 8,29,35,57 and 64 d respectively as one course.During interventional therapy,radio-frequency hyperthermia carried out twice one week, totally 12 times per-patient.After one course 4 weeks later, the blood TSGF levels and CT changes of the tumors were observed. Results The short period effect included:CR in 0 case,PR in 22 cases,NC in 6 cases and PD in 3 cases, the total short-term efficacy rate was 71 percent(22/31).Significant statistical difference was found in the positive rate and quantitative level of the blood TSGF after on cycle(P

Objective To study the clinical characteristics of gastrointestinal (GI) hemorrhage in SARS and factors affecting its occurrence. Methods Retrospective study on clinical data of SARS cases complicated with gastrointestinal hemorrhage admitted to our hospital. Results Of 220 SARS cases gastrointestinal hemorrhage occurred in 20 patients (9% ) , with 13 males, 7 females, age ranged 19 -83 years (50?20) , onset at the 5th to 35th day of illness (22?9) , hematemesis/melena in 5 cases, positive occult blood test in 15. After treated with famotidine, omeprazole, reptilase and thrombin bleeding stopped in 16 cases within 7 to 10 days. Four cases died of respiratory failure. Rate of hemorrhage was lower in patients receiving prophylactic therapy with H2 receptor blocker famotidine than those without prophylactic therapy (P

Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(18):-
Objective To investigate the roles of the activated p38 kinase in cell injury by observation of the effects of hypoxia and burn serum on cardiomyocyte p38 kinase and JNK activation. Methods Phosphorylation of p38 kinase and JNK in primary cultured neonatal rat cardiomyocytes before and after hypoxia and burn serum was determined by Western blotting. Effects of pretreatment with SB203580 at the dose of 10 ?mol/L on the changes of phosphorylation of p38 kinase in cardiomyocytes, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity, cell vitality and apoptosis were investigated, respectively. Results Exposure of rat neonatal cardiomyocytes to hypoxia and burn serum resulted in a rapid and long lasting activation of p38 kinase but no significant activation of JNK. SB203580(10 ?mol/l), a selective inhibitor of p38 kinase, could inhibit p38 kinase activation dramatically, decrease the LDH activity in culture media and cell apoptosis significantly and improve cell vitality. Conclusion In the two stress activated signal pathways of MAPKs family, p38 kinase pathway, but not JNK, is the major pathway activated by hypoxia and burn serum and participates in the cardiomyocyte injury.

【Objective】To observe the influence of medicated diet with spleen-invigorating and phlegm-removing herbs on the therapeutic effect of acupuncture for simple obesity.【Methods】Ninety-six female simple obesity patients with phlegm-damp retention in the interior due to spleen deficiency were equally randomized into two groups by simple random method.Groups A(n=48)and B(n=48)were given dietary control, acupuncture on acupoints of Zusanli(ST36),Pishu(BL20) and Feishu(BL13),and catgutembedment(CE)in auricular points of spleen, stomach and tri-energizer.Group A additionally took a medicated diet for invigorating Qi and strengthening spleen, removing phlegm and draining damp. After one-month treatment, body weight, index of body weight and height were measured, and serum levels of total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low-density lipoprotein(LDL)and high-density lipoprotein(HDL)were determined.【Results】Body weight, index of body weight and height, and blood lipid levels were decreased in groups A and B after treatment(P

Journal of Interventional Radiology 2001;0(05):-
Objective To explore a safe and effective hyperthermia interventional therapy temperature for hepatic carcinoma. Methods Eight swines were divided into four groups according to trans-arterial hyperthermic perfusion temperature, 45 ?C , 50 ?C ,55 ?C , and 60 ?C (catheter flowing temperature) groups. The hepatic and renal functions and blood coagulation function were examined before and after the procedur and then all swines were sacrificed and the livers were pathologically analysed, simultoneously with the evaluation of the safe hyperthermic temperature 35 hepatic carcinomas were carried out under this interventional hyperthermochemotherapy via the arterial catheter (80 cm, 5F) placed into the tumoral artery with the perfusion agents warmed to 60~65 ?C (catheter flowing temperature was 47.55?0.44 ?C ). Results The hyperthermic coagulation necrosis, hepatic dysfunction level and fever were found after 55 ?C and 60 ?C hyperthermic perfusion while those of 45 ?C and 50 ?C groups basically remained normal. The tumor growth rate and total efficacy rate were -(0.35?0.32) and 79.2%, respectively, and 0.5, 1, 1.5 year survival rates were 100%, 80%, 60% respectively after follow-up. The adverse effects of the interventional hyperthermochemotherapy was similar to the routine TACE. Conclusions 45 ?C and 50 ?C (catheter flowing temperature) hyperthermochemotherapy for hepatic carcinoma is safe and effective.

Objective To evaluate the results of teaching in both Chinese and English with 7-year-program clinical medicine majors and analyze the influencing factors. Methods Data from a questionnaire survey of 25 students exposed to bilingual teaching were analyzed. Results The students generally approved of the model of bilingual teaching, which was contributory to improving their proficiency in specialized English. However, uneven English levels on the part of teachers and students and imperfect materials and methods as well as discontinuity affected the overall results of bilingual teaching and to some extent the students' mastery of specialized knowledge. Conclusion Bilingual teaching with 7-year-program clinical medicine majors is a must, and yet persistent efforts need to be made in enhancing the teachers' English level, compiling proper textbooks and improving teaching methods so as to genuinely better the results of bilingual teaching.
