Objective To study the clinical and imaging features of neonatal acute osteomyelitis.Method From 2011 to 2016,the clinical feature, laboratory results, pathogen, imaging features, treatment and prognosis of neonates who were diagnosed with acute osteomyelitis in NICU of People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region were retrospectively studied.Result A total of 13 cases were enrolled during the study period,5 males and 8 females, with onset age of 7 ~30 d.8 cases had different degrees of fever and 5 of them showed dyspnea;8 cases had elevated skin temperature and swelling at the affected area;7 cases presented with irritability;6 cases had anorexia;all cases had elevated white blood cell count.Blood culture were taken immediately after their admission, and culture from the pus were taken for some patients.5 cases had positive blood culture and Staphylococcus aureus was the main pathogen.6 cases had positive pus culture, and 4 cases showed gram positive (G +) bacteria and 2 cases gram negative (G-) bacteria.Humerus and tibia were the main foci of the infection.4 cases had X-ray examination within 7 days of onset showing soft tissue swelling and no sign of bone destruction.13 cases had X-ray examination at 7 to 14 days of disease.Among them only 1 case showed soft tissue swelling, and the rest 12 cases had different levels of bone destruction and periosteal reaction.2 cases had X-ray examination after 14 days of disease, showing stiffening ring, inflammatory changes and periosteal reaction. All patients were treated with broad-spectrum antibiotics after admission, and the affected limbs were immobilized.3 cases had further surgical treatment.11 patients recovered and were discharged,1 patient was treated at local hospital after diagnosis and 1 patient refused further treatment due to serious complications after 35 d of hospital stay and was lost on follow-up.Conclusion The clinical manifestation of neonatal osteomyelitis is atypical, the radiological and pathogen examination should be carried out once osteomyelitis is suspected.Appropriate antibiotics and timely surgery can prevent further damage and long-term sequela.

OBJECTIVE To investigate and elucidate the role of histamine on the regulation of tight junctions(TJs) gene expression of the airway epithelial cells. METHODS We cultured primary human bronchial epithelial cells from healthy and asthmatic individuals in the presence of histamine for 96 hours in air-liquid interface (ALI) culture system. The TJs expression on the level of mRNA and protein was determined by RT-qPCR and immunofluorescence (confocal microscopy), respectively. RESULTS A RT-qPCR analysis revealed that the mRNA expression of several TJs were up- or down-regulated by histamine. However, examination by confocal microscope revealed no detectable alterations in the morphology of the tight junctions after stimulating with histamine. CONCLUSION Our findings that histamine could regulate the mRNA expression of TJs of bronchial epithelial cells. That might contribute to the pathogenesis of chronic airway inflammatory diseases.

Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2006;0(05):-
Twenty kinds of amino acids are simplified into 3 types: hydrophobic amino acids (H), hydrophilic amino acids (P) and neutral amino acids (N). Each residue is reduced to a bead which locates in the position of the C?琢 atom. The off-lattice model is adopted and the relative entropy is used as a minimization function to predict the tertiary structure of a protein. A new contact intensity function is given to consist with protein design research based on the relative entropy. Testing on several real proteins from Protein Data Bank (PDB) shows the good results obtained with the model and method. The root mean square deviations (RMSD) of the predicted structures relative to the native structures range from 0.30 to 0.70 nm. A foundation for studying protein design using the HNP model and the relative entropy was made.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus medication and kinesiotherapy in treating cerebral stroke.Method A total of 126 patients with cerebral stroke were randomized into a treatment group of 42 cases, control group 1 of 40 cases and control group 2 of 44 cases. The treatment group was intervened by acupuncture, Chinese medication plus kinesiotherapy, control group 1 by acupuncture alone and control group 2 by kinesiotherapy alone. Before the intervention and respectively after 2-week and 4-week treatment, the three groups were observed by adopting the modified Barthel Index (MBI) and Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA), as well as the Activities of Daily Living (ADL).Result After the treatment, the MBI score, FMA score and ADL grading were significantly changed in the three groups (P<0.01). After 4-week treatment, the MBI score in the treatment group was significantly different from that in control group 2 (P<0.05). After 4-week treatment, the FMA score and ADL grading in the treatment group were significantly different from those in both control group 1 and 2 (P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture plus medication and kinesiotherapy is an effective approach in treating cerebral stroke and it can improve the ADL.

Objective To observe the role of mulberry flavone on the expression of insulin receptor substrate(IRS)in HepG2 cells with insulin resistance, and to explore the possible molecular mechanism that mulberry flavone improves insulin resistance. Methods HepG2 cells were cultured to establish insulin-resistance cell model in high concentration of insulin, and then incubated with mulberry flavone. Effect of mulberry flavone on the HepG2 cell model of glucose incorporation rate was observed. Western blot was used to observe the variety of IRS protein expression. Results Mulberry flavone increased the glucose incorporation rate of (33. 9 ± 1.0)higher than that of Conclusions Mulberry flavone can improve insulin resistance. Furthermore, IRS protein expression increasing is the possible molecular mechanism that mulberry flavone improves insulin resistance.

Chinese Journal of Analytical Chemistry 2014;(9):1364-1368
Near infrared spectroscopy ( NIRS) is capable of determining water contents in oils. However, too much moisture contents in the oils will scatter rather than absorb the NIRS. This may cause greater measurement error. For this reason, a nonionic surfactant (Span-80) was screened to make the water in the oils evenly dispersed into small droplets. The NIRS analysis was subsequently employed to build support vector regression ( SVR ) model of the water content. In this experiments, the upper limit of the water content determination was improved from the conventional 0. 1% to 1. 0% ( V/V) by the oil-water stabilization. Applying successive projection algorithm, 15 valid variables (2. 9% of the original ones) from 511 NIRS variables were selected. With the proposed SVR model, the measurement precision criteria for the validation dataset were root mean squares error percentage 2 . 93%, correlation coefficient 0 . 9944 , and relative percent derivation 9 . 4732%.

Objective To observe the behavior changes and synaptic reconstruction of brain and the impact of gastrodin in rats with epilepysy induced by pentylenetetrazole. Methods Fifty Wistar rats in growth(50-70 g) were randomly divided into 5 groups:control group,Pentylenetetrazole (PTZ) group, gastrodin high dose group, gastrodin low dose group and sodium valproate group, each group had 10 rats.According to Racine classification, the behavior changes of rats and the frequency were recorded.Conventional method was adopt to perfuse cordis, fix and extract the brain, and the immunohistochemistry was used to detect synaptophysin(P38) expression in the temporal lobe and hippocampus of the brain after 4 weeks. Results 1.Four weeks after pentylenetetrazole ignited the growth period rats, the attack-level of each experimental group through comparison with each other, there was statistically significant difference(?2=35.83 P0.05).Conclusions There are mossy fiber sprouting and the formation of synaptic reconstruction in temporal lobe and hippocampus of the growth period rats repea-tedly ignited by pentylenetetrazole.Gastrodin may play a role in the formation of antiepileptic obviously, and through decreasing the expression of P38,which can inhibit the formation of synaptic reconstruction,as control seizures indirectly.
