ObjectiveTo investigate the role of electroencephalogram (EEG) examination in the prognosis evaluation of patients with severe craniocerebral injury.MethodsFifty-seven patients with severe craniocerebral injury were selected as study subjects and their clinical data were analyzed retrospectively. All the patients got EEG examination, and the relationships between EEG grading and Glasgow coma scale (GCS) score, the prognosis of outcome were analyzed.ResultsThe EEG of 57 patients within 24 h after hospitalization were all abnormal. There was significantly negative correlation between EEG grading and GCS score (r =-0.742,P <0.05).EEG grading was significantly positively correlated with the prognosis of outcome (r =0.730,P< 0.05).ConclusionsEEG examination and EEG grading can evaluate the prognosis of patients with severe craniocerebral injury. It provides reference for clinical treatments.

METHODS: One hundred and seven patients with an acute asthma were randomly assigned into two groups: a treatment group(n=52,treated by Tanreqing Injection for 10 d in addition to the routine medications) and a control group (n=55,treated by routine medications). The serum levels of ET and TNF-? were determined by radioimmunoassay before and after treatment, respectively. RESULTS: Before treatment, there were no significant differences in the content of serum ET and TNF-? between the treatment group and the control group. However, after 10 d of treatment, the levels of ET and TNF-? in the treatment group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P

Objective To observe and compare the effects of extracorporeal shock wave therapy(ESWT) and that of joint mobilization technique on periarthritis of shoulder. Methods Eighty-two patients were divided into two groups randomly, a treatment group (n=42) treated with extracorporeal shock wave therapy, and a control group (n=40) treated with joint mobilization technique. All the patients were evaluated with Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Constant-Murley Scale(C-M scale) before and half a month after the treatment. Results After treatment the results obtained with the use of VAS Scale and C-M Scale (only ADL and ROM) were significantly different in two groups when compared with those before the treatment (P

Objective To analyze the relationship between central lymph node metastasis and clinical features of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma. Methods From January 2010 to October 2016, 137 patients were treated with papillary thyroid microcarcinoma and central lymph node dissection. Among them, 35 were male and 102 were female. There were 49 cases with age ≤ 45 years old, 88 cases > 45 years old. 36 cases had diameter of tumor≤5 mm, 101 cases>5 mm; There were 72 cases with tumor fibrosis, 65 cases without fibrosis; 22 cases with psammoma bodies, 115 cases without psammoma bodies. There were 16 cases with tumor associated with chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, 121 cases without them. The clinical factors affecting lymph node metastasis in the central group were analyzed byχ2 test. Results Of the 137 patients, 52 cases (38.0%) had central lymph node metastasis. Age, tumor diameter, fibrosis, psammoma bodies had relationship with central lymph node metastasis (χ2 values were 4.48, 5.60, 7.30, 7.30, all P<0.05). Sex, tumor associated with chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis had no relationship with central lymph node metastasis (all P> 0.05). Conclusion The papillary thyroid microcarcinoma patients with age≤45 years old, tumor diameter>5 mm, fibrosis in the tumor area and psammoma bodies have high risk of lymph node metastasis.

However, after 10 d of treatment, the levels of ET and TNF-α inthe treatment group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.01), and clinical efficacy of the treatment group was superior to the control group. CONCLUSION: Inhibitionof ET and TNF-α secretion and intervention inflammatory response might be one of mechanisms of Tanreqing Injection in treatment for acute asthma.

Objective To investigate the expression and biological function of miRNA-449 a in lung cancer . Methods A case-control study was conducted in 58 patients diagnosed with lung cancer ( carcinoma and adeno-carcinoma) and normal tissue closely adjacent to tumor.MiRNA-449a simulation was designed and synthesized, was dissolved into two different concentrations as 10 and 20 mg/mL.The expression of miRNA-449a in lung cancer tissues and matched normal tissues were detected by Real time PCR .The expression of luciferase gene was detected by chemiluminescence technique.MiRNA-449a mimics on cell apoptosis was evaluated by MTT assay . Results The mean tissues expression levels of miRNA-449 a in squamous carcinoma group and adenocarcinoma group were 1.48 ±1.63 and 1.52 ±1.54 respectively, and were significantly lower than in control group (2.74 ± 1.55 ) ( P<0.01 ) .The average intensity of fluorescent protein in 10 mg/mL group and 20 mg/mL group were 2 115 ±168 and 1 352 ±159 respectively , and were significantly lower than that in control group ( 4 975 ±115 ) ( P<0.01 ) .Conclusions MiRNA-449 a was down-regulated expression in lung cancer and induced apoptosis .

Objective To study the potential role of PKC inhibitor Rottlerin in the treatment of asthma. Methods Balb/c mice were sensitized and challenged with ovalbumin(OVA) protein to construct murine experimental model of asthma. Then the mice were treated by means of injection of Rottlerin or phosphate buffered saline (PBS) into the abdominal cavity. Changes of the total serum IgE, pulmonary eosinophils, cytokines and pulmonary inflammation were investigated. Results Injection of Rottlerin at the dose 0.3 mg/kg into the murine abdominal cavity could inhibit the infiltration of pulmonary eosinophils and pulmonary inflammation and significantly decrease the production of total serum IgE and Th 2 cytokines as well. Conclusion Rottlerin can inhibit murine experimental asthma.

Objective To investigate the dynamical changes of Rho kinase in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and its relationship with cerebral vascular spasm CVS. Methods CSF were collected on the ist, 3rd, 7th, 10th and 14th day after subarachnoid hemorrhage. The expression of Rho-kinase mRNA in CSF was determined by RT-PCR. The expression of endothelin-1 in CSF was determined by radioimmuno-assay. TCD was used to measure the velocity of the cerebral artery. Results The levels of ET-1 and Rho-kinase mRNA in CSF were re-markably increased on the 3rd day, and reached at the peak on the 7th day after subarachnoid hemorrhage, which were significantly higher than those without CVS. Conclusion There is a positive correlation between the level of Rho-kinase mRNA and ET-1 in CSF. Rho-kinase may participate in the development of CVS.

Objective To determine the efficacy and safety of the 308nm excimer laser in the treatment of vitiligo. Methods A Self-controlled study was conducted. The vitiligo lesions in stable stage of 75 patients were treated twice a week by the 308 nm excimer laser for 6 weeks. The efficacy and factors related to efficacy were evaluated 3 days later after the final treatment. Results No improvement was observed in any of the untreated vitiligo lesions. However, of the treated lesions, 6 completely disappeared, 33 obtained significant improvement, 30 moderate improvement, 6 no improvement. The effective rate was 92.0% and the markedly effective rate was 52.0%. The lesions on the face and neck had a better response to the treatment than those on the trunk or limbs, and the latter responded better than those on the joints of extremities. Conclusion The 308 nm excimer laser is safe and effective in treatment of vitiligo in stable stage and the efficacy is related to the anatomic sites.
