Medical Picture Archiving & Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) are the two embranchments of medical informatics developing most rapidly. The correlative legal issues of medical PACS and RIS should be paid attention to.

Objective To observe the effect and the mechanisms of ferulic acid on radiationinduced damage of mice peripheral blood and bone marrow hematopoietic function. Methods Ninety-six mice were randomly divided into sham irradiation group, irradiation group, positive drug group and 10,30,90 mg·kg-1 ·d-1 ferulic acid group,16 mice per group.Mice were exposed to 3.5 Gy γ-rays 24 h after first drug taken. Then, mice were given drugs for 7 d after irradiation.White blood cells in peripheral blood of 10 mice per group were counted 2 d before irradiation and 3,7,10,15 and 22 days after irradiation. The bone narrow of the other six mice was taken to detect the micronuclei frequency of polychromatic erythrocyte, the hematopoietic progenitor cell colony formation capacity,Thbd and HMGB1 protein expressions in mice bone marrow on the seventh day after irradiation. Results Compared with the irradiation alone group, the treatment of mice with ferulic acid 90 mg· kg-1 · d-1 increased the number of white blood cells in peripheral blood at 3,10,15 and 22 d after irradiation (t =2.267,2.399,1.945,2.828,P < 0.05).Treatment with mice with ferulic acid 90 mg· kg-1 · d 1 decreased the micronuclei rate of erythrocytes in irradiated bone marrow (t =4.013,P < 0.05),increased the clone numbers of CFU-E,BFU-E and CFU-GM of hematopoietic progenitor cells (t =2.366,2.953,3.115,P <0.05),improved the relative expression of the Thbd protein in bone marrow and the HMGB1 protein in nuclear (t =17.75,23.39,P < 0.01).Conclusions Ferulilc acid could protect the bone marrow hematopoietic of mice exposed to irradiation by regulating the expressions of Thbd and HMGB1 protein, and then accelerate the peripheral cells recovery.

Objective To study the genotypes of human papillomavirus (HPV)infection in female anus and anal canal condylo-ma acuminata(CA)tissues and their clinical significance. Methods 23 kinds of HPV-DNA were extracted from the paraffin-embed-ded anus and anal canal tissue samples in 140 cases of female CA and detected by using PCR combined with the gene-chips tech-nique.Furthermore the related clinical pathological data of the patients were analyzed. Results Among 140 female anus and anal ca-nal CA tissue samples,103 cases were HPV positive and the total HPV infection rate was 73.57%(103/140).Among them,68 ca-ses were single type HPV infection, the positive detection rate was 48.57%(68/140)and 35 cases were multiple types HPV infec-tion,the positive detection rate was 25.00% (35/140).In single type HPV infection,34 cases were HPV11 and the positive detec-tion rate was 24.29% (34/140),HPV11 was the main infection type, followed by HPV 6 in 27 cases, its positive detection rate was 19.29%(27/140).In the multiple types HPV infection,13 cases were HPV 6 + 11,accounting for 37.14% (13/35 )of multiple types infection, followed by HPV11 +18 in 3 cases and HPV 6+11+16 in 3 cases, each accounting for 8.57%(3/35)of the multi-ple types infection. Conclusion HPV 6,11 ,6+11,11 +18 and 6+11+16 are the main infection genotypes in female anus and anal canal CA.PCR combined with the gene-chips technique is a diagnostic method more suitable for clinical development of HPV geno-typing detection, which has high sensitivity and good specificity and is especially suitable for the molecular epidemiology study of HPV infection.

ObjectiveTo make a comparison between microsurgical lumbar discectomy(MSLD) and microendoscopic discectomy(MED) in terms of methods, feathers, and effectiveness for lumbar disc herniation (LDH).MethodsA prospective clinical review was conducted. From January 2006 to December 2009,900patients with single segment lumber disc herniation were randomly divided into the MSLD group and the MED group. There were 450 patients in each group.Comparison would be made in terms of the length of skin incision, the operative time, amount of bleeding, incidence of complication, duration of hospitalization, the time of recovery to ordinary work or life,pre- and post-operative assessment based on the criteria of visual analogue scales (VAS),and the Oswestry disability index(ODI).ResultsThe mean lengths of skin incision were (3.8±1.1) cm and (2.4±0.7) cm for MSLD and MED respectively; the operative time were (51.0±14.2) min and (62.0±16.3) min; and the blood loss were (60±35) ml and (106±43) ml,which showed a significant difference(P<0.05).There was no significant differences in terms of the hospitalization time and the time of recovery to ordinary work or life between the two groups (P>0.05).The results of VAS and ODI of two groups also showed no significant difference at final follow-up (P>0.05).As for the complications, the incidence of dural tear, acute hematomas of sacrospinalis, nerve roots and cauda equina injury and recurrence in MSLD group were much lower than that of MED group (P<0.01).There was no incidence of wrong segment, greater artery injury,or postoperative infection in each group.ConclusionThe clinical effects of both minimal invasive methods are satisfactory. However,MSLD has advantages of simpler maneuvering, shorter learning curve, and less complication than MED.
