Objective To solve the problem of the skin resource and skin quality after excision of skin scar and other lesions to a certain extent. Methods Using the skin external expander that was designed and developed by the authors, we expanded skin at the given time and quantity. Results 28 patients had received the treatment, and they all had a large proportion of skin-scard. Obviously their skin-scar was eliminated throughly after using the skin external expander and commissure being hooked in. These 28 cases have shown that there would be no chance for the patients to suffer from hyperplastic akin-scard after their first stage of treatment. Conclusion The skin external expander is really a new method to solve the problem of the skin resource and skin quality after exscinding skin scar and other lesions to a certain extent.

Twenty-four novel benzothiazole derivatives containing arylpiperazine were designed and synthesized by bioisosterism principle. Anti-proliferative effect of these synthesized compounds against four cancer cell and two normal cell lines were evaluated in vitro by the standard MTT assay. Pharmacological test showed that most of the compounds exhibited potent antitumor activity. Some of the compounds (II2, II3, II6, II7) showed strong anti-proliferation activities against HepG2 and HeLa229 cell lines with the IC 50 values of 1.6-4.5 micromol x L(-1) and 2.5-5.3 micromol x L(-1), respectively, and compounds having cyan in p-substituted benzene ring (I4, I8, I12, II4, II8 and II12) were found to have better antitumor activities against AsPC-1 cell lines with the IC50 values of 5.2-11.3 micromol x L(-1). The structure-activity relationship of benzothiazole derivatives containing arylpiperazine was also discussed preliminarily.

Objective: To investigate a new method for improving the therapeutic effect on malignant glioma. Methods: A new type of killer cells, named GS-LAK, was induced by means of costimulating the peripheral ginsenoside(GS) and interleukin-2 (IL-2). Comparing with control group-LAK cells, cytotoxicity of GS-LAK cells against malignant glioma cells(BT325) was examined with MTI method. Results: It showed that GS-LAK cells exhibited some advantages over LAKcells in proliferation, cytotoxicity, as well as the utilizing of IL-2. Conclusion: The application of GS-LAK cells mightopen a new prospect to clinical therapeutic approach to malignant glioma.

Objective:To observe the effect of Lingshao-Zaoren Decoction on urodynamics and the expression of Piezo1 if overactive bladder (OAB) rats. Methods:Thirty SPF grade female SD rats were randomly divided into blank group, model group, Tolterodine control group, low-dose and high-dose Lingshao-Zaoren Decoction groups, with 6 rats in each group. The OAB rats were modeled by intraperitoneal injection of Cyclophosphamide. After the successful modeling, Tolterodine control group was given 0.36 mg/kg Tolterodine tartrate, the low-dose and high-dose Lingshao-Zaoren Decoction groups were given 1.59 and 3.18 g/kg Lingshao-Zaoren Mianjian granules by gavage, the blank group and model group were given the same amount of distilled water, once a day for 14 days. After 14 days, the urodynamics of rats in each group were detected. The bladder volume and maximum bladder pressure were observed respectively. The pathological changes of bladder tissue were observed by HE staining. The expression of Piezo1 protein in bladder tissue was detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blot. The expression of Piezo1 mRNA in bladder tissue was detected by qPCR. Results:Compared with the blank group, the body weight, bladder volume and maximum bladder pressure of the model group were significantly reduced ( P<0.01). HE staining result showed that the model group had hyperplasia of urinary tract epithelium, degeneration, necrosis and abscission of epithelial cells, infiltration of a large number of inflammatory cells in stroma, vascular proliferation, thickening of vascular wall, hyperplasia of mucosal smooth muscle, disorder of arrangement, and significant up regulation of Piezo1 protein expression ( P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the weight [(244.83 ± 6.05) g, (233.33 ± 11.76) g vs. (219.00 ± 9.70) g] of rats in the Tolterodine control group and high-dose group of Lingshao-Zaoren Decoction significantly increased ( P<0.01), and the bladder volume [(0.93 ± 0.31) ml, (1.17 ± 0.17) ml, (1.21 ± 0.23) ml vs. (0.50 ± 0.16) ml] and maximum bladder pressure [(42.00 ± 3.03) cmH 2O, (45.83 ± 7.19) cmH 2O, (46.83 ± 8.23) cmH 2O vs. (30.50 ± 5.47) cmH 2O] of rats in the Tolterodine control group, low-dose and high-dose Lingshao-Zaoren Decoction groups were significantly increased ( P<0.01); the bladder epithelial hyperplasia and degeneration degree, interstitial inflammatory cell infiltration degree and vascular hyperplasia degree of rats in the Tolterodine control group, low-dose and high-dose Lingshao-Zaoren Decoction groups significantly increased. The expression of Piezo1 mRNA (1.50 ± 0.04, 2.05 ± 0.08, 1.44 ± 0.10 vs. 2.56 ± 0.11) and protein in the Tolterodine control group, low-dose and high-dose Lingshao-Zaoren Decoction groups were significantly decreased ( P<0.01). Conclusion:Lingshao-Zaoren Decoction can increase the bladder volume and maximum bladder pressure of urinary incontinence caused by detrusor overactivity in rats with overactive bladder, which may be related to reduction of Piezo1 expression.

Objective To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of nosocomial fungal infections in severe sepsis patients and analyze the influencing factors by logistic regression.Methods The clinical data of 578 patients with severe sepsis admitted to our hospital from January 2008 to January 2016 were retrospectively analyzed.The epidemiological characteristics were investigated.The possible influencing factors of nosocomial fungal infection were analyzed by univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis.Results Among 578 cases of severe sepsis,215 cases were accompanied by nosocomial fungal infection (infection rate 37.20％).The infection sites were mostly lungs and the fungal types were Candida albicans.The prognosis of the patients was poor.The survival time was less than 90 days,accounting for 42.33％ (91/215).There were significant differences in age,length of stay in intensive care unit (ICU),duration of more than two antibiotics,use of ventilators,hormones,invasive procedures,acute physiology and chronic health evaluation Ⅱ (APACHE Ⅱ) score between the infected group and the uninfected group (P ＜ 0.05).The danger degree from high to low of the risk factors were ICU stay ≥ 100 h (OR =5.697),use respirator (OR =5.388),invasive operation (OR =4.987),age ≥65 years (OR =4.584),and continuous use of two antibiotics ＞ 7 d (OR =3.287),use steroid (OR =2.141).Conclusions Severe sepsis with hospital acquired fungal infection is more common in the lung,and most of them are Candida albicans infection,with poor prognosis and high mortality.ICU stay ≥ 100 h,use respirator and steroid,invasive operation,age ≥65 years,and continuous use of two antibiotics ＞ 7d are risk factors.Specific preventive measures should be taken to reduce fungal infections.

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of Lingshao-Zaoren granule in the treatment of female overactive bladder. Methods A total of 60 female OAB patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into 2 groups, 30 cases in each group. The control group recieved the Tolterodine Tartrate Sustained Release Tablets and the Lingshao-Zaoren granule placebo, and the treatment group used the Tolterodine Tartrate Sustained Release Tablets and the true Lingshao-Zaoren granule treatment. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. Overactive bladder symptom scale (OABSS) was used to determine the severity of OAB.Results After treatment 14,28 d,OABSS scores of the treatment group(5.3 ± 2.3,1.4 ± 1.2 vs.8.4 ± 2.4,F=137.209),and control group(7.8 ± 1.9,6.8 ± 1.4 vs.8.6 ± 2.6,F=8.927),were significantly lower than the baseline of each group respectively (P<0.01). Besides, OABSS scores of the treatment group after 14 and 28 d were significantly lower than the control group (t=4.668, 15.678, P<0.01). The pain scores (5.9 ± 1.9, 2.7 ± 1.1 vs.9.5 ±2.3,F=108.819)of treatment group at 14 and 28 d were significantly lower than the baseline(P<0.01);and the pain scores of treatment group at 14 and 28 d were significantly lower than the control group (t=6.342, 14.812,P<0.01).The lower abdomen discomfort scores at 14,28 d in treatment group(1.9 ± 1.4,1.1 ± 1.0 vs. 3.3 ±1.1,F=28.762),and control group(2.7 ±1.0,2.4 ±0.8 vs.3.4 ±1.2,F=12.103)were significantly lower than the baseline of each group (P<0.01); and the abdominal discomfort scores of treatment group at 14, 28 d were significantly lower than the control group (t=2.521, 5.041, P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusions The Lingshao-Zaoren granule could decrease OABSS score,pain score,abdominal discomfort symptoms,improve clinical symptoms of the female patients with OAB.

Objective:To evaluate the effects of Huoxue Bushen Formula Granules on endometrial receptivity (ER) in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in ovulation induction cycle.Methods:A randomized controlled trial was conducted. Totally 50 patients with PCOS infertility in Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences from January 2019 to January 2023 were selected as the observation objects, and were divided into observation group (29 cases) and control group (21 cases) according to the random number table method. Both groups were given oral clomiphene citrate on the 5th day of menstrual cycle or progesterone withdrawal. On this basis, the observation group was given Huoxue Bushen Formula Granules on the 5th day of menstruation, while the control group was given estradiol valerate tablets. 7 days after taking medication and injecting hCG from the 10th day of menstruation, ovulation was monitored and sexual intercourse was guided. Both groups were treated for 3 menstrual cycles and followed up for 3 months. B-ultrasound was performed on 6-8 days after ovulation to obtain uterine artery pulsatility index (PI) and blood flow resistance index (RI). TCM syndrome scores were evaluated before and after treatment, and the endometrial receptivity score (Salle score) was used to evaluate the level of ER. The pregnancy and adverse reactions during treatment were recorded in the two groups.Results:After treatment, TCM syndrome score in the observation group [14.0 (13.0, 15.0) vs. 16.0 (14.5, 19.5), Z=-3.23] was lower than that of the control group ( P<0.001). The Salle score of the observation group after treatment [12.0 (9.5.0, 13.5) vs. 10.0 (9.0, 11.0), Z=-3.84] was higher than that before treatment ( P<0.001). The PI (0.68±0.52 vs. 0.81±0.06, t=18.25), RI (1.65±0.36 vs. 2.24±0.45, t=22.78) after treatment in the observation group and the control group were lower than those before treatment ( P<0.001), without statistical significance ( t values were -0.39, -1.37, respectively, P>0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was 75.86% (22/29), and that of the control group was 71.43% (15/21), without statistical significance ( χ2=0.12, P=0.724). The pregnancy rate of the observation group was 82.76% (24/29), and that of the control group was 57.14% (12/21), with statistical significance ( χ2=3.96, P=0.046). The incidence of adverse reactions of the observation group was 3.45% (1/29) and that of the control group was 9.52% (2/21), without statistical significance ( χ2=0.80, P=0.372). Conclusion:Huoxue Bushen Formula Granules can improve the ER of PCOS infertility patients with kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome, improve the pregnancy rate, reduce the TCM syndrome score, improve the quality of life of patients with high safety.

Objective:To investigate the clinicopathological features, differential diagnosis and prognosis of Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC).Methods:The clinical and pathological data of 10 patients with MCC were collected at the 940th Hospital of PLA. The histological characteristics were examined. Immunohistochemical EnVision method was used to detect thyroid transcription factor-1 (TTF1), broad-spectrum cytokeratin (CKpan), CK20, S-100, Ki-67, CD56, chromogranin A, synaptophysin and other markers in the 10 cases.Results:Intradermal MCC of the skin showed a nested, cord-like, cribriform distribution, polygonal cells, uniform size, and lack of cytoplasm. Tumor cell nuclei were large and round, with clear nuclear membranes, fine and scattered chromatin, absence of nucleoli, and mitotic figures of 10 per 50 high power fields. Among them, one patient had sarcoma and squamous cell carcinoma in situ, one patient had squamous cell carcinoma in situ, and one patient had unique cell morphology. Immunohistochemical staining showed that all cancer cells expressed CKpan, synaptophysin and CD56. There were seven cases with perinuclear dot-like positivity of CK20. Six MCCs expressed chromogranin A to varying degrees, while 2 MCCs were weakly positive for p63. The nuclear positive index in the Ki-67 hotspot area was 60%.Conclusion:The histology of MCC varies. Rendering a correct diagnosis of MCC requires adequate sampling, close correlation with clinical history and rational use of immunohistochemical staining. The treatment requires standardized surgery, postoperative radiotherapy and multimodal chemotherapy. Immunotherapy may replace the traditional treatment in the future.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of Fufang-Xuanju capsule combined with levofloxacin mesylate tablets in the treatment of chronic epididymitis. Methods: A total of 76 patients in the Urology Department of Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences who met the inclusion criteria from December 2016 to February 2019, were divided into treatment group (43 cases) and control group (33 cases). The control group was given levofloxacin mesylate tablets orally. The treatment group was given Fufang-Xuanju capsule based on the control group. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. Chronic epididymitis symptom index (CESI) was used to evaluate the clinical efficacy by pain score and quality of life score. Results: The total effective rate was 83.7% (36/43) in the treatment group and 63.6% (26/33) in the control group. There was statistically significant difference between the two groups (χ²=4.020, P=0.045). Compared with baseline, the pain scores, quality of life scores and total scores of both groups at 2, 4 weeks after treatment were significantly lower (P<0.01). Two weeks after the treatment, the pain scores, quality of life scores and total scores in the treatment group were significantly lower than those of the control group (F value were 16.132, 9.134 and 23.681, respectively, all Ps<0.01). And 4 weeks after the treatment, the pain scores, quality of life scores and total scores of the treatment group were significantly lower than that of the control group (F value were 28.741, 74.049, 72.483, respectively, all Ps<0.01). Conclusions Fufang-Xuanju capsule combined with levofloxacin mesylate tablets can alleviate the pain of patients with chronic epididymitis, improve the quality of life and improve the clinical efficacy.
