Heart rate variability (HRV) is a non-invasive index for quantitative evaluation of cardiac autonomic nervous function, its analysis methods mainly include linear time domain analysis, frequency domain analysis, and nonlinear analysis. This article review the relationship between stroke lesion type, lesion location, degree of neurological deficit, duration and HRV, as well as the possible mechanism and intervention measures of stroke caused HRV.

Methods by using the homeostasis model assessment (Homa-R), 20 patients with insulin resistance(IR group) and 20 patients with non-insulin resistance(NIR group) were selected in this study, and 20 age and BMI-matched healthy subjects were also recruited as control group. ObjectiveTo research the endothelial dysfunction and early changes in arterial elasticity in patients with hyperlipidemia and effects of atorvastatin on these changes.Methods40 patients with hyperlipidemia but without any treatment in our hospital were selected as a study group,and 30 healthy people were selected as control group.Use the Flow mediated dilation,FMD detection which bases on the echo-trackingtechnology,eTRACYING to evaluate the right brachial atherosclerosis parameters and vascular diastolic parameters,including the pressure strain elastic modulus(Ep) ;stiffness index (β) ;compliance (AC) ;FMDs and FMDd.The study group take atorvastatin 20mg per day,then retested above parameters and TC,LDL-C after 12 weeks and analyzed all parameters.ResultsThe values of β and Ep in study group are significantly higher than the control group (all P ＜ 0.001 ),but AC;FMDs and FMDd are significantly lower than the control group( all P ＜ 0.001 ).The results of the study group after the treatment of atorvastatin are as follwing:TC,LDL-C,β and Ep are lower than before,AC,FMDs and FMDd are higher than before;and the differences are of significance in statistics ( all P ＜ 0.001 ).ConclusionHyperlipidemic patients had shown the vascular endothelial injury and vascular early hardening before the abnormal changes in intimal,but the atorvastatin intervention could reverse these changes.

Objective Analysis of MRI image of lateral ventricular subependymomas to improve our recognition of radiology manifestation of the disease. Methods Clinical data and MRI findings of 6 patients with subependymomas proved by surgical pathology, observed from January 2007 to June 2013, were analyzed retrospectively. Results Six patients (4 males and 2 females) presented with headache and dizziness. Among these 6 patients, tumor developed in right lateral ventri-cle in three patients, in left lateral ventricle in 2 patients and in frontal of dual lateral ventricle in one patient. In MRI image, tumors showed iso-intense to hypointense to normal white matter on T1-weighted and DWI images, hyperintense on T2-weighted and FLAIR. Mild or no enhancement was noted in most cases. MRS showed findings consistent with low-grade tu-mor, with a normal choline peak and depressed N-acetyl-aspartate peak. Conclusion Lateral ventricular subependymo-mas have characteristic MRI features and multi-direction images are helpful for diagnosis.

Objective To investigate the change in distribution and antimicrobial resistance of pathogens from blood culture of children,and provide a basis for treatment of bloodstream infection.Methods Pathogens isolated from blood culture of hospitalized children between January 2009 and December 2013 were divided into group 2009-2011 and 2012-2013.Distribution and antimicrobial susceptibility of pathogens were analyzed.Results From 2009 to 2013,a total of 48 455 blood specimens were taken for culture,2 730 pathogenic bacteria were isolated,positive rate was 5.63%.The positive rate of blood culture decreased year-by-year (χ2 =415.30,P <0.01 ).Of 2 730 iso-lates of pathogenic bacteria,gram-positive bacteria,gram-negative bacteria,and fungi accounted for 80.37% (n =2 194),18.68%(n=510),and 0.95%(n=26)respectively.The difference between two groups of pathogenic bacte-ria was significant(χ2 =180.334,P <0.001).Susceptibility rates of gram-positive cocci to vancomycin,linezolid and teicoplanin were all 100%,resistance rates of coagulase-negative Staphylococcus and Staphylococcus aureus to cip-rofloxacin,compound sulfamethoxazole and tetracycline all decreased.Susceptibility rates of gram-negative bacilli to imipenem,meropenem and amikacin were all≥97.50%,susceptibility rate of Klebsiella pneumoniae to levofloxacin was 100%;Of cephalosporins,Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae had high resistance except ceftazidime and cefepime.Conclusion Distribution of pathogens from blood culture of children in 2009-2013 changed signifi-cantly,pathogens have high resistance to commonly used antimicrobial agents,more attention should be paid to the monitor of pathogens from blood culture and pathogenic antimicrobial resistance.

Objective To study the over-expression and clinical implications of the oncogene MDM2 in acute leukemia (AL). Methods The expression of MDM2 gene in 100 patients with newly diagnosed and relapse or refractory AL and 20 healthy as control was measured by relative quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR),then the results was measured by χ2-test,t-test and one-way ANOVA to compare expession positive rate and intensity of MDM2. Results Among 100 patients,fifty-eight had the high expression of MDM2 gene (58 %). The expression level of MDM2 gene in patients was higher than that of health controls(P ＜0.05). The expression positive rate of MDM2 is higher in poor outcome group (67.9 %,19/28)than that in general outcome group (33.9%,19/56) (P＜0.05). Conclusion Our results suggest that the expression of MDM2 gene plays an important role in the pathogenesis and poor outcome of AL.

Objective To investigate the effect of tea polyphenols on global cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury in rats.Method Forty-five pathogen-free male SD rats weighing 180-220 g were randomly divided into 3 groups( n =15 each):sham operation group (group S),cerebral ischemia reperfusion group (group IR) and tea polyphenols group (group TP).Global cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury was establish by four-vessel occlusion method.At 24 h of reperfusion,five rats were chosen and Evan's blue(EB) was injected iv,and then sacrificed and brain was removed for determination of EB content; another five rats were sacrificed and brain was removed for determination of water content; five rats were chosen for Morris water maze test.Result Compared with group S,EB content and water content in brain tissue were increased in groups IR and 'rP,and escape latency was prolonged,frequency of crossing the original platform was reduced in group IR ( P ＜ 0.05 ).Compared with group IR,EB content and water content in brain tissue were decreased,and escape latency was shortened,frequency of crossing the original platform was increased in group Tp ( P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Tea polyphenols can attenuate global cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury in rats.
