China Pharmacy 2016;27(30):4269-4271
OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for the identification, processing, processing technology and research for ther-mal decomposition products. METHODS:Thermogravimetry- derivative thermogravimetry (TG-DTG) and differential thermal-de-rivative differential thermal (DTA-DDTA) analysis were conducted to scan thermal spectrum of tripterygium from 3 places and T. hypoglaucum,T. regelii, common counterfeits Actinidia arguta and Vitis quinquangularis, determine 7 medicinal materials, its dregs and extractum, and analyze differential spectrum of T. wilfordii and dregs. RESULTS:The TG-DTG and DTA-DDTA thermal spectrum were not only basically similar to each other but also to their dregs. There was a singlet main characteristics peak at about (299±3)℃ only in the DTG curves of extracts of tripterygium from 3 places and T. hypoglaucum extractum with similar intensity, while T. regelii, counterfeits A. arguta and V. quinquangularis showed multiple peaks, and (299 ± 3)℃ was not the main peak. CONCLUSIONS:The thermal spectrum can not distinguish tripterygium and its counterfeits;extractum DTG curves can do it;suit-able processing temperature of tripterygium was 200-380℃. The study can provide reference for the identification,processing,pro-cessing technology and research for thermal decomposition products.

This study aims to explore the clinical value of the computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system for early detection of the pulmonary nodules on digital chest X-ray. A total of 100 cases of digital chest radiographs with pulmonary nodules of 5-20 mm diameter were selected from Pictures Archiving and Communication System (PACS) database in West China Hospital of Sichuan University were enrolled into trial group, and other 200 chest radiographs without pulmonary nodules as control group. All cases were confirmed by CT examination. Firstly, these cases were diagnosed by 5 different-seniority doctors without CAD, and after three months, these cases were re-diagnosed by the 5 doctors with CAD. Subsequently, the diagnostic results were analyzed by using SPSS statistical methods. The results showed that the sensitivity and specificity for detecting pulmonary nodules tended to be improved by using the CAD system, especially for specificity, but there was no significant difference before and after using CAD system.

Objective To compare the diagnostic value of magnifying chromoendoscopy with probebased confocal laser endomicroscopy (pCLE) for differentiation of neoplastic from non-neoplastic colorectal polyps. Methods A total of 16 consecutive patients, who were diagnosed as having polyps with endoscopy between December 2009 and January 2010 at Nanfang Hospital, were included in this study. The pit pattern of the polyp was first determined with magnifying chromoendoscopy in all patients. Then, confocal images of the polyps were recorded and subsequently analyzed offline. Using pathological diagnosis as golden standard, the sensitivity and specificity of the two methods were compared. Results A total of 26 polyps from 16 patients were found. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy of magnifying chromoendoscopy was 94. 1%, 77.8%, 88. 8%, 87. 5% and 88.4%, respectively, while those of pCLE were 100. 0%, 88. 8%, 94. 4% ,100. 0% and 96. 1%, respectively. There was no significant difference between pCLE and magnifying chromoendoscopy. Conclusion In differentiation between neoplastic and non-neoplastic colorectal lesions, pCLE shows higher sensitivity and specificity than does magnifying chromoendoscopy, although without significant difference. pCLE can be used as a new real time method to determine the property of colorectal polyps.

Objective To investigate the effect of neuropeptide Y (NPY) on the osteoblastic differentiation of murine MC3T3-E1 cells and its mechanism related to the Wnt signaling pathway. Methods The murine MC3T3-E1 cells were divided into 4 groups according to the stimulators added:phosphate buffered saline (PBS) (control) and different concentrations of NPY (10-8 mol/L,10-10 mol/L and 10-12 mol/L).The cellular proliferation was detected with MTT assay after 1,3,5,7 and 9 days. The cells were identified with cell immunochemistry and Western Blot to find out the most effective concentration of NPY at different time points under osteoblastic condition. The cells were then divided into 4 groups:PBS,NPY,NPY + NPY receptor antagonist, and NPY + DKK1.Western blot was used to determine the expression of β3-catenin and p-GSK-3β in each group.Nuclear signaling activity of β3-catenin was observed using immunofluorescence staining. Results NPY significantly improved the proliferation of MC3T3-E1 cells at 7 and 9 days (P <0.05).NPY (10s mol/L and 10-10 mol/L) groups and NPY (10-10 mol/L and 10-12 mol/L) groups significantly improved the ALP activity at 4 and 14 days respectively (P < 0.05).At 4 days, the expression of ALP protein was significantly decreased in the NPY + DKK1 group and the NPY + NPY receptor antagonist group compared with that in the NPY group (P < 0.05).Although the expression levels of [β-catenin and p-GSK-3β protein were uninfluenced in either case,NPY significantly stimulated the nuclear signaling activity of β3-catenin.Conclusions NPY may significantly increase the expression of ALP protein in MC3T3-E1 ceils during osteoblastic differentiation. This effect might be mediated through the canonical Wnt signaling pathway.
