Objective Hotelling T2 Test was used to analyze the effect of sibutramine and to provide some information for new drug's exploration. Method Fifty-five patients with body mass index (BMI) over 25kg/m2 were selected according to generally accepted including and excluding criteria. The subjects were divided into 2 groups randomly. Control group was given placebo, and the experimental group were given sibutramine. Biological and biochemical indexes were examined pre-,during and post- clinical trial. Hotelling T2 test was used to compare the index mean vector of different phases. Results There were significant statistical differences between the two groups. (P

Journal of Chinese Physician 2016;18(4):512-515
Interleukin-33 (IL-33),a novel member of IL-1 family,is a multifunctional cytokine.IL-33 can act as a transcriptional repressor. It can also bind to growth stimulation expressed gene 2 protein (ST2) to induce the activation of some inflammatory cells.IL-33 is extensively expressed in nervous system. Some studies showed that the levels of IL-33 and ST2 were significantly changed in pain. Some reports demonstrated that the IL-33/ST2 signaling pathway played critical roles in them. This present article will review the biological characteristics of IL-33/ST2 and their expressions in nervous system and significance of interventional pain related diseases.

AIM: To investigate the effects of berberine (Ber) on ion transport and hypersecretion induced by cholera toxin(ChT) in ileum and its mechanism. METHODS: Ussing Chamber technique was used to measure the potential difference(PD), short-circuit current(SCC), and the resistance(R) in isolated guinea-pig ileum. The effects of Ber on PD, SCC and R in glucose Tyrode solution or glucose-free Tyrode solution were examined. The secretory diarrhoea model was made by ChT to investigate the effects of ChT and ChT+Ber on PD, SCC and R. RESULTS: (1)The PD and SCC were decreased in glucose Tyrode solution by the Ber added in mocosal side or in serosal side in ileum of normal guinea-pig and which was with secretory diarrhoea ( P

Objective:To explore the effect of spinal interleutkin-33 (IL-33) on radicular pain in rats modeling non-compressive lumbar disc herniation. Methods:A total of 80 male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into a sham operation group, a model group, a lentivirus negative control group, a low-dose IL-33 recombinant lentivirus group and a high-dose IL-33 group, each of 16. Non-compressive lumbar disc herniation was successfully induced in all except the rats in the sham operation group. Two days later, the model group was injected intrathecally with 10μl of enhanced infection solution. The lentivirus control group received 10μl of negative lentivirus, the low-dose IL-33 recombinant lentivirus group received 5μl of IL-33 recombinant lentivirus and the high-dose IL-33 recombinant lentivirus group received 10μl of IL-33 recombinant lentivirus. The 50% paw withdrawal threshold (50% PWT) was measured one day before the modeling and on the 1 st, 3 rd, 5 th, 7 th, 9 th, 11 th, 13 th, 15 th, 17 th, 19 th, and 21 st day afterward. On the 12 th day the expressions of IL-33 protein and mRNA were evaluated. Results:The average expression of IL-33 protein and mRNA in the model and the lentivirus negative control group increased significantly after the modelling compared with the sham group, while expression in the low- and high-dose IL-33 recombinant lentivirus groups was significantly lower than in the lentivirus negative control group. Compared with one day before the modelling, average 50% PWTs on the affected side decreased significantly in all of the modelling groups. From the 9 th to the 21 st day significantly increased 50% PWTs were observed on the affected side in the low-dose and high-dose IL-33 recombinant lentivirus groups compared with the other two modelling groups. Immunostaining showed significant increase in the expression of IL-33 in the dorsal horn of the spinal cord in the model group, compared with the sham operation group. Significant decrease in the average expression of IL-33 in the spinal dorsal horns was observed in the low-dose and high-dose IL-33 recombinant lentivirus groups. Conclusions:Intervertebral disk herniation may increase the expression of IL-33 in the spinal cord, and may cause radicular pain.

Objective:To make a self-made fall/fall protection cover and explore its application effect. Methods:Five high-risk fall wards in Songjiang District Central Hospital were selected as the pilot wards. According to the length of stay, 80 elderly patients treated from June to December in 2020 were selected as the control group and 80 patients treated from January to June in 2021 were selected as the experimental group. The control group was treated with routine fall prevention / bed falling intervention measures, and the experimental group was treated with self-made fall prevention / bed falling protective cover on the basis of routine intervention measures. The incidence of falling/falling bed, physical restraint rate, comfort and satisfaction of hospitalized patients were compared between the two groups. Results:During the study period, there was no fall in the experimental group and one patient in the control group. The incidence of fall was 0.125 ‰ (1/8 000) ( t=-0.06, P>0.05). The rate of physical restraint was 8.75%(875/10 000) in the experimental group, and 26.25%(2 100/8 000) in the control group, the difference was statistically significant( t=-5.51, P<0.05). The scores of comfort and satisfaction were (93.43 ± 13.01), (134.50 ± 15.56) points in the experimental group and (81.68 ± 13.41), (111.88 ± 16.22) points in the control group, the differences were statistically significant ( t=8.03, 12.92, both P<0.05). Conclusions:The self-made fall / fall protection cover can reduce the utilization rate of physical constraints, improve the overall comfort of patients, improve patients′ satisfaction. It has clinical promotion value.

Wolfiporia cocos (F. A. Wolf) has been praised as a food delicacy and medicine for cen-turies in China. Here, we present the genome and transcriptome of the Chinese strain CGMCC5.78 of W. cocos. High-confidence functional prediction was made for 9277 genes among the 10,908 total predicted gene models in the W. cocos genome. Up to 2838 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified to be related to sclerotial development by comparing the transcriptomes of mycelial and sclerotial tissues. These DEGs are involved in mating processes, differentiation of fruiting body tissues, and metabolic pathways. A number of genes encoding enzymes and regulatory factors related to polysaccharide and triterpenoid production were strikingly regulated. A potential triter-penoid gene cluster including the signature lanosterol synthase (LSS) gene and its modified compo-nents were annotated. In addition, five nonribosomal peptide synthase (NRPS)-like gene clusters, eight polyketide synthase (PKS) gene clusters, and 15 terpene gene clusters were discovered in the genome. The differential expression of the velevt family proteins, transcription factors,carbohydrate-active enzymes, and signaling components indicated their essential roles in the regu-lation of fungal development and secondary metabolism in W. cocos. These genomic and transcrip-tomic resources will be valuable for further investigations of the molecular mechanisms controlling sclerotial formation and for its improved medicinal applications.
