BACKGROUND: Although bone mineral density can diagnose osteoporosis, it cannot reflect the existing bone metabolism of the subjects; bone turnover markers cannot diagnose osteoporosis, but it can timely reflect the current bone turnover rate of the subjects. OBJECTIVE: To summarize osteoporotic fracture risk predicted by bone turnover markers and bone mineral density, and to theoretically analyze the feasibility of fracture healing after operation. METHODS: With bone turnover, biochemical marker, osteoporosis in English for the search terms, Pubmed database from January 1999 to January 2009 was retrieved; With bone turnover, bone metabolism, biochemical markers, bone mineral density, osteoporosis, fractures in Chinese for the search terms, CNKI database from January 1999 to January 2009 was searched. Literatures were limited to English and Chinese languages. Inclusive criteria: the article closely related to predict fracture risk with bone turnover markers and bone mineral density; Exclusive criteria: duplicated documents. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Totally 631 literatures were screened out by computer, according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, 31 documents of which were involved for analysis. Osteoporosis is one of the main causes of elderly disease and death. Early prediction of osteoporotic fracture risk has a great significance. This article describes the bone metabolism, the type of bone biochemical markers, bone mineral density measurement, multi-cell basic unit and the OPG-RANKL-RANK system in bone reconstruction after a long-term fixation; focuses on the use of bone turnover markers and bone mineral density to prognosticate the fracture risk in osteoporosis or after long-term fixation by domestic and foreign academician, and theoretically analyze the feasibility of predicting postoperative fracture healing.

Many clinical bone nonunion or delayed union often appear in the early stage of bone healing, but they have been always found too lately. Before X-ray films of visual changes indicates salt content inbones reaching 25%,the very early changes ofclinical significance can not be observed. This paper introduces the theory of fracture healing and the definition of bone nonunionand the significance of the basic multicellular unit(BMU)and the OPG-RANKL-RANK system in bone reconstruction. Many technologies such as ultrasonic testing, vibration analysis, mechanical impedance analysis, the bone marrow cavity imaging technologiy,high-resolution CT etc.have been reported in study on the bone,as well as early diagnosis of fracture nonunion. However, the molecular level of early diagnosis is deficiency.

Objective To explore the character of the myelodysplastic syndrome(MDS) with autoimmune disorders (AID).Methods The clinical data of 60 MDS patients were reviewed. Results 5 of 60 MDS patients had AID ,of which 3 had Graves' disease. The commonest MDS was refractory anemia with ringed sideroblasts (RAS).Conclusion MDS might occur with Graves' disease.Humoral immunological abnormality might play an important role in MDS patients with autoimmune disorders and FAB types might not be associated with this.

Objective To investigate the effect of Ulinstatin(UTI) on oxygenation and gastric intramucosal pH in dogs with sepsis. Methods Sepsis was induced by intravenous infusion of lipopolysaccharide of E.coli.055:B5 to dogs, and the twenty dogs were divided into control group and ulinastatin group.Ulinastatin was administered in the ulinastatin group. The oxygen delivery(DO2),oxygen consumption(VO2), oxygen extraction(O2ER), plasma lactate levels and gastric intramucosal pH(pHi) were monitored. Results In early sepsis dogs,DO2,VO2,O2ER and plasma lactate levels increased significantly. Gastric intramucosal pH(pHi) decreased significantly. After the treatment with ulinastatin,DO2,VO2,O2ER and plasma lactate levels decreasd(P

To maintain the competitive superiority, the medical english majors should optimize and construct the characteristic curriculum system in order to cultivate high-quality professionals of medical english.Taking the medical english major of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine for an example, this paper discusses the theoretic consideration and practice in constructing the characteristic ‘trinity’ curriculum system of medical english majors, hoping that more attention can be paid to its further development.

Objective To study the risk factors of nosocomial infections in patients with cerebrovascular disease and prevent and cure them. Methods A retrospective survey on the hospital infeation in patients with cerebrovascular disease in our hospital during March 2003 to March 2005 was couducted. Results The result showed that 61 of the 360 patients had hospital infection, the rate of infection was 16.94%,and the hospital average infection rate in all was 3.92%,hospital infection aging, treatment days in hospital, consciousness invasive operation Hospital infection was a retated. The main infection sites were at respirate tract, the most common bacteria were Gram-Negative bacilli. Conclusions There is higher hospital infection rate among, the acute cerebrvascular patients.Age,the critical patients, invading operations are prmincipal factors. We should prevent it in time.

Objective To evaluate the role of diffusion weighted (DW) echo planar MRI in differentiating between brain abscesses and necrotic or cystic tumors. Methods Five patients with brain abscesses, 7 with malignant gliomas, and 1 with brain metastasis were consecutively examined using conventional MRI and diffusion weighted imaging (DWI). The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) of ROI was measured with two different b values (0 and 1 000 s/mm 2 or 0 and 1 200 s/mm 2). The results were analyzed using two independent samples test. Results On diffusion weighted imaging, brain abscesses showed marked hyperintensity in all 5 patients, whereas necrotic or cystic brain tumors demonstrated hypointensity in all 8 patients. ADC mean values of brain abscesses, which was 0.43?10 -3 cm 2/s, were lower than those of necrotic or cystic portion of brain tumors ( T =15.00, P

[Objective]To explore the indications and operative techniques for comminuted fracture of proximal humerus. [Method] Twelve patients with fracture of proximal humerus were chosen, observation was made after locking proximal humerus plate fixation with anterior acromioplasty. [Result]The average follow-up period were 12 months (6~24months). All patients' fracture in surgery group had been union and all shoulder had good functions. No incidence of avascular necrosis and nonunion was found. [Conclusion]Rigid fixation of displaced comminuted fractures of proximal humerus with anterior acromioplasty is a simple and effective technique to prevent subacromial impingement syndrome after surgery. Precise osteotomy and early postoperative exercises are the key to success.
