[Objective]To study the combination of calcium phosphate cement(CPC) and morselized bone and their optimum mixing ratio. [Methods]Bilateral nemora of macro-ears rabbits were made into morselized bone. There were two groups:experimental group and control group. In the experimental group, the ratios of morselized bone to CPC were 1 to 1,1 to 2,1 to 3,1 to 4 and 1 to 5.In the control group CPC was used after it was solidified. The maximum compression strength and solidified time of the materials in experimental and control groups were tested. The cell multiplication was evaluated by MTT after mesenchymal stem cells were cultivated.[Results]The cell multiplication in materials mixed with ratios of 1 to 2 and 1 to 3 was better than those in the materials mixed with the other ratios by MTT.It indicated that there was a significant difference(P

[Objective]To confirm the effect of combination of calcium phosphate cement and small amounts of autoallergic micromorselized bone for reparing bone defect and provide the basis for clinical use.[Method]The animal models of bilateral radius defect were created by surgery on Japan white big ear rabbits. The combination with a ratio of 3 to 1 in one lateral leg was implanted in experimental group, and calcium phosphate cement was used in the control group. The X-rays,bone density, and maximum torsional moment were carried out at different time points, and osteogenesis and degradation of the materials in the two groups were analyzed.[Result]Enhancement of osteogenesis was found in the experimental group, and the materials were enclosed significantly by bony callus at the 8~(th) week, the defects were repaired and the materials were degraded completely at the 16~(th) week. The bone mineral content in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group(P

Objective:To further understand the advantage of radiofrequency treatment of hemangioma ofnasal cavity under nasal endoscopy. Method:Fifteen cases with hemangioma of nasal cavity were treated withradiofrequency under nasal endoscopy. Result:The hemangioma of fifteen cases could be removed completely. Thecomplication was absent. None of them recured in six months to four years following up. Conclusion:This methodhas many advantages such as clear operation visual field, less hemorrhage and postoperative pain,no facial scar. The radiofrequency under endoscopy is valuable in treatment for hemangioma of nasal cavity.

Chinese Mental Health Journal 1989;0(03):-
Objective: To explore the predictors of drive for thinness in female college students in Beijing. Methods: 499 female students were investigated with Drive For Thinness of EDI, Body-Esteem Scale for Adolescents and Adults and BMI-based Silhouette Matching Test (BMI-SMT). Results: The deviation of perception, the deviation of expectation of one's own body and body-esteem were found to be predictors of drive for thinness. For someone with normal weight, the deviation of perception, the deviation of expectation of one's own body were significantly larger than someone slightly underweight and very underweight, the body-esteem were significantly lower and their drive for thinness were significantly greater. Conclusion: The distorting perception, the unreasonable expectation of one's own body and low body-esteem are important predictors of drive for thinness, which will then cause eating disorder in female college students.

Objective To explore the correlation between the unstability of carotid plaques and ischemic cerebrovascular diseases. Methods 112 cases were divided into 6 types according to their carotid ultrasonic examination, counted the focus of ischemic stroke by CT of each patient, then compared the difference of the quantities a-mong the 6 types. Results There were significant differences between the stable and unstable types in the quantities of focus. Conclusion There is a closed relationship between the unstability of carotid plaques by ultrasonic and ischemic cerebrovascular diseases.

Objective To investigate the relationship of serum uric acid level to the risk of coronary artery disease in young adults. Methods One hundred and fifty six young adults(≤45 years) hospitalized in Peking University First Hosipital during January 2005 to April 2008 were divided into coronary heart disease(CHD) group(96 cases) and control group(60 cases),according to coronary angiography. The CHD group was then sub-divided into 3 groups: single-vessel group(n=55),double-vessel group(n=21) and multi-vessel group(n=20).The relationship of serum uric acid level to the risk of CHD was analyzed. Results The serum uric acid level in CHD group was higher than that in control group(347.3?77.8 ?mol/L vs 306.1?76.6 ?mol/L,P

Objective To investigate the effect of metformin used during early pregnancy on pregnancy outcome of pregnant women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).Methods Two hundred and fifteen pregnant women with PCOS history were selected into our investigation from March 2007 to February 2010,among which,58 patients were taken as metformin group as they had taken metformin during early pregnancy,or with impaired glucose tolerance complicated by marked hyperinsulinemia and history of recurrent miscarriage. All patients in the study group received metformin (1.0~1.5 g/d) during early pregnancy. The rest 157 gravidas with PCOS history did not receive metformin as control group. The outcomes of pregnancy in the two groups were compared with x2 or t test. Results The early spontaneous miscarriage rate of metformin group was significantly lower than that of control group (5.2 % vs 28.7 %,x2 =13.476,P<0.01).There was no statistical difference in the rate of late abortion (6.90% vs 6.4 % ),hypertension during pregnancy (3.9% vs 4.9%),preeclampsia (3.9% vs 3.9%),preterm birth (13.7% vs 20.6%) and oligohydramnios (5.9% vs 3.0%) between control group and metformin group (P > 0.05 respectively). And there was no significant difference in neonatal birth weights [(2925±530) g vs (2910± 659) g],the rate of asphyxia (3.7% vs 6.8%),malformation (0.0% vs 0.9%),hypoglycaemia ( 5.6% vs 6.8%),fetal macrosomia ( 1.9% vs 3.4%),fetal growth restriction (5.6% vs 6.0%) and rate of neonatal intensive care unit admission (18.0% vs 27.4%) between the two groups (P>0.05,respectively).The infants were followed up for 3 years and all are physically and mentally normal. Conclusions Metformin administration during early pregnancy might reduce the early spontaneous miscarriage rate of PCOS patients, and the adverse effects of metformin have not been identified on fetals and infants.
