Practical Oncology Journal 2015;(4):350-352
Desmoplastic small round cell tumor( DSRCT) is a kind of highly uncommon malignant tumor which is reported in very recent years.Since it has been firstly reported by Gerald in 1991,DSRCT has only a-round one hundred reported cases globally, and very limited cases domestically. This report illustrates the first case of DSRCT in our hospital so as to share and to discuss with clinicians.
5.Advances in molecular-targeted therapies for gastric cancer and gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2015;(23):1118-1123
The prognosis of advanced gastric cancer and gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma is poor. Although che-motherapy prolongs patient survival and improves quality of life to a greater extent best supportive care compared to, the median over-survival of patients with advanced gastric cancer is limited to approximately 7-10 months. With remarkable progress in the understand-ing of molecular mechanisms, molecular-targeted agents have been developed and evaluated in international randomized phaseⅢclini-cal trials. These agents may change the treatment mode of this disease. A ToGA study initially demonstrated that the trastuzumab, the monoclonal antibody of HER-2, as a molecular-targeted agent, in combination with chemotherapy, can prolong the overall survival of patients to 13.8 months. Several agents targeting angiogenesis, c-Met, PARP, and immunotherapy are currently subjected to clinical tri-als. This review summarizes the current status of molecular-targeted therapies for gastric cancer and GEJ adenocarcinoma.
6.Progress on precise hepatectomy
Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 2011;17(5):434-436
The development of liver surgery can be divided into several stages, including wedge liver resection, regular segmental liver resection and anatomical liver resection. With the development of biomedical sciences and information technology, liver surgery has developed into precise hepatectomy. The goals of precise hepatectomy are minimal invasion, maximal liver protection and best rehabilitation, This is mainly achieved through accurate preoperative evaluation, precise surgical planning, sophisticated surgical procedure and postoperative management. Its application significantly improves prognosis and quality of life of patients. This paper summarizes the concept and surgical technique of precise liver resection.
7.Transformation from adult bone marrow cells into neural cells
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2009;13(27):5357-5360
In vitro differentiation of bone marrow stromal stem cells (BMSCs) into neural cells has been a hot study in neuroscience. Presently, under some experimental conditions, tissue-specific stem cells have been shown to give rise to cell lineages not normally found in the organ or tissue of residence. BMSCs have been reported to generate skeletal cells, gastric cardiac cells, oval hepatocytes, as well as glia and neuron-like cells. Cells from postnatal bone marrow were induced to proliferate and differentiate into gila and neurons. The present study explored the characteristics of its transformation.
8.Improving islet yield and function by pancreatic ductal preservation
Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 2010;16(11):867-869
Objective To determine whether pancreatic ductal preservation(pancreatic ductal injection of sparing TIUW solution at the time of pancreas procurement)can improve islet yield and function after cold preservation of pancreas. Methods Pancreases were classified into five groups:fresh pancreases(group1 ,n= 10);preserved for 6 hr in TIUW solution without and with pancreatic ductal preservation by TIUW solution(group2, n=10 and group3, n = 10);preserved for 24 hr in TIUW solution without and with pancreatic ductal preservation by TIUW solution(group4 ,n= 10 and group5,n= 10).Dithizon(DTZ)staining was used to identify islet morphous and yield, trypan blue uptake(TBU)was used to assess the nonviability of islets, the insulin secretory response to glucose was used to evaluate islet function in vitro, islet transplantation was used to determine islet function in vivo. Results Islet yields per pancreas after purification in group 1 to 5 were 590± 127, 272 ± 50,454 ± 65, 253± 56, 447 ± 66(islet equivalent ± SD), respectively.Percentage of nonviable islets in grouplto5were(5.7±4.2)%,(18.3±6.5)%,(11.7±4.2)%,(26.3±5.6)%,(15.0±5.3)%.Stimulation index in group 1 to 5 were 7.32±2.32, 4.81±1.17, 7.56±2.44, 2.88±1.00, 5.71±1.90.Cure rates in group 1 to 5 were 100%, 0%, 100%, 0%, 70%.In this study, the differences were significant between control groups and experimental groups(P<0.05, group 2 vs.group3 and group4 vs.group5).Conclusion The pancreatic ductal preservation can improve islet yield and function.

This review will summarize the regulation and molecular mechanism of miR-29 family in all critical stages of breast cancer, and evaluate the value of miR-29 as a new diagnostic and prognostic biomarker or therapeutic target.
10.DISTRIBUTION AND EFFECTS OF PERIPHERAL NERVE AXOLEMMA ION CHANNELS IN EXPERIMENTAL ALLERGIC NEURITIS
Acta Anatomica Sinica 2002;0(05):-
Objective To reveal the distribution and effects of peripheral nerve axolemma ion channels in experimental allergic neuritis(EAN).Methods The alteration of Na+ and K+ channels on peripheral nerves(PNs) in the course of EAN was observed and the relationship between the channels and nerve conduction properties was analyzed by assessing histology and electrophysiology of PNs as well as clinical severity. Results Na+ and K+ channels obviously decreased on day 9 post immunization(p.i.),a time point of disease onset, and quickly became undetectable in next two weeks.Undergoing a slow and incomplete regeneration, neither of the channels regained the normal appearance on day 85 p.i.even if the clinical symptom disappeared several weeks before.Na+ and K+ channels had a synchronous development during disease course and remained a close correlation with the alteration of paranodal myelin.Electrophysiological abnormality kept consistent with the disturbance of PNs just in the acute period of EAN(9-23d p.i.) and the compound muscle action potential(CMAP) amplitude partly reflected the distribution of axolemma ion channels. Conclusion Loss of axolemma ion channels of PNs might be one of the reasons directly leading to the early symptoms of EAN.As a structural component, the channels were liable to damage and difficult to restore. The clustering and maintenance of the channels were closely related with the specialized paranodal myelin.
