Journal of Chinese Physician 2016;18(3):321-324
The T helper cell 17 (Th17) has important relationship with liver failure caused by hepatitis B virus (HBV).Some studies found that mature, differentiation and proliferation of Th17 cells have a close relationship with interleukin 23,newly discovered in recent years, which function of immune and regulatory mechanism in chronic hepatitis B patients is still unclear. In our country, the main cause of liver failure is hepatitis viruses (mainly HBV),thus the study of immune pathogenesis that why acute exacerbation or liver failure happens in chronic hepatitis B patients has a realistic meaning for improving the prognosis of chronic hepatitis B.

Objective To observe the effects of psychological supportive therapy on the activities of daily living (ADL) and depression after cerebral hemorrhage. Methods 60 cases with mild or medium depression according to 17 items Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAMD-17) after cerebral hemorrhage were divided into treatment group (n=30) and control group (n=30). All of them accepted physical exercise, and those in the treatment group accepted psychological supportive therapy in addition. They were assessed with Functional Independence Measure (FIM) and HAMD-17 before and after the treatment. Results After 2 months of treatment, the score of FIM increased more in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.001), and the score of HAMD-17 decreased (P<0.001). Conclusion Psychological supportive therapy may promote the recovery of ADL and depression for patients post cerebral hemorrhage.

Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery 2015;31(4):259-262
OBJECTIVETo discuss the necessity of MRI as a routine examination for diagnosis of glomus tumor.
METHODSFrom Nov. 2013 to July 2014, 7 cases of glomus tumor were treated in our department. All patients had typical clinical symptoms of glomus tumor and received preoperative X-ray and/or MRI examination. The diagnosis was confirmed by postoperative histopathologic examination. All the patients were retrospectively analyzed by reviewing the preoperative examination results and PubMed search results.
RESULTS2 cases underwent only X-ray examination before operation with no positive results. 3 cases underwent both X-ray and MRI. No positive finding happened in X-ray, while MRI showed glomus tumor characteristic on T1- and T2-weighted images which demonstreated a more intense signal after injection of gadolinium. The last 2 cases underwent only MRI examination, which revealed positive images of glomus tumor.
CONCLUSIONSMRI plays an important role in diagnosis of glomus tumor and should be adopted as a routine examination.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(41):6719-6724
BACKGROUND:As mesenchymal stem cells are commonly used as seed cells in studies of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering, the regulatory mechanism of their biological characteristics is a current research focus. OBJECTIVE:To summarize the regulations of Wnt signaling pathway on proliferation, senescence and differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells. METHODS:PubMed database and CNKI database were retrieved by computer using the key words of“mesenchymal stem cells, Wnt signaling pathway, proliferation, senescence, differentiation”in Chinese and English, respectively, between 2002 and 2014. Final y, 44 articles were included in result analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Wnt signaling pathway is widely involved in the regulations of the biological characteristics of mesenchymal stem cells. Canonical Wnt signaling pathway reveals a bi-directional regulation effect on cellproliferation and osteogenic differentiation, and enhances senescence and neural differentiation, but inhibits adipogenic differentiation;non-canonical Wnt signaling pathway enhances senescence and osteogenic differentiation, and inhibits proliferation and adipogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells, but it takes no part in neural differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells. So the regulations of Wnt signaling pathway on the biological characteristics of mesenchymal stem cells can be used as the new therapeutic targets of bone tissue engineering, nerve injury repair, and so on.

Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging Technology 2010;26(4):745-747
Objective To explore the imaging features and clinical significance of solitary costal hot spots on bone scintigraphy (BS). Methods Eighty-four patients with single costal hot spots were enrolled in the study. The sites of lesions were classified into four types: junction betweenaor rib. The shapes of hot spots were classified into three forms: Punctiform, clumping and strip. The above data were respectively analyzed. Results Single hot spots were mainly showed in the punctiform and strip shapes, and the distribution of punctiform spots were mainly in the sites of junction between costal cartilage and rib and frontal ribs, also mainly due to costal fractures (42/61, 68.85%). The majority of spots in strip shape were costal metastases(18/19, 94.74%). Hot spots in posterior ribs were also mainly costal metastases (24/29,82.76%). Conclusion Useful imaging features can be obtained from BS with al diagnosis of benign and malignant lesions.

Chinese Journal of Digestion 2015;35(12):825-829
Objective To analyze the correlation between Doppler ultrasound parameters, blood biochemical indexes and the severity of esophageal varices (EV), and to explore the values of them in the diagnosis of severe EV.Methods A total of 102 hospitalized patients with liver cirrhosis was consecutively collected. All patients underwent endoscopic examination to determine the presence and severity of EV, then they were divided into moderate/severe EV group (n=78) and non/mild EV group (n=24).Congestion index of the portal vein (PV-CI), damping index of hepatic vein(HV-DI), hepatic vein arrival time(HVAT) and intrahepatic circulatory time (IHCT) were measured by Doppler ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasound. And at same time, the level of yon Willebrand factor antigen (vWF-Ag) and soluble CD163 (sCD163) in peripheral blood were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. The differences of these parameters between two groups were compared by independent samples t-test or Mann-Whitney rank sum test. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV) and diagnostic accuracy (DA) of related parameters in the prediction of EV were calculated according to receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve. Results Ultrasound parameters PV-CI, HV-DI and peripheral blood vWF-Ag, sCD163 levels of moderate/severe EV group were all significantly higher than those of none/mild EV group 0.11 (0.05) cm · s vs 0.07(0.03) cm· s;0.72±0.11 vs0.52±0.12;1 824.00(558.00) U/Lvs 1 533.80(311.50) U/L;(72.57±10.94) μg/L vs (57.91±10.40) μg/L;Z=-4.949, t=-7.759, Z=-5.420, t=-5.804, all P<0.05).However HVAT and IHCT were significantly shorter than those of non/mild EV group (17.00(4.25) s vs 27.78(6.75) s;(6.62±1.85) s vs (9.33±2.26) s, Z=-3.822, t=5.820, both P<0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that the areas under the ROC curve of HVDI, vWF-Ag and sCD163 predicting moderate/severe EV were all more than 0.8, the appropriate cutoff value of HV-DI, vWF-Ag and sCD163 was 0.64, 1 693.8 U/L and 63.98 μg/L, respectively. The sensitivity were all more than 75%,PPV were all greater than 90% and DA were all more than 80%.Conclusion HV-DI, peripheral blood vWF-Ag and sCD163 levels can be taken as noninvasive parameters, which can effectively predict the presence of severe EV, facilitate early detection of these high-risk bleeding patients and prevent bleeding.
