Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2006;4(1):42-43
Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of treating senile intervertebral disc Herniation with acupuncture, tuina and traction and with physiotherapy and traction. Methods: Altogether 150 cases above 65 years old were randomly allocated into treatment group and control group, each containing 75 cases. Traction, acupuncture and tuina therapy were adopted in the treatment group, while traction and physiotherapy were adopted in the control group. Results: After one-month treatment, the recovery rate of the treatment group were 70.7%, which was significantly better than 53.3% of the control group (P< 0.05). Conclusion:Combination of acupuncture, tuina and traction has very good efficacy in treating senile intervertebral disc Herniation.

A 54-year-old female presented with indurated nodules and plaques on the left chest and back for 32 years.Skin examination showed little finger- to soybean-sized,slightly whitish indurated nodules with little mobility arising on skin-colored indurated plaques following Blaschko's lines on the left chest and back. The lesional skin was sclerotic and atrophic, and the lesions were distributed unilaterally.Serum levels of calcium, phosphate, alkaline phosphatase and parathyroid hormone were normal.Histopathological examination revealed fibrous scar with flake-like calcification. The diagnosis was idiopathic calcinosis cutis following Blaschko's lines.

Objective To investigate the relationship between homocystine (Hcy) ,methylenetetra hydrofolate reductase(M T H-FR) C677T and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM ) .Methods A total of 91 GDM cases(GDM group) and 123 cases with normal pregnancy(control group) were detected for the C677T polymorphism of M T HFR and serum levels of Hcy and glucose .Results Serum Hcy level in GDM group was remarkable higher than that of control group (P< 0 .05) .Hcy level was positively correlated with fasting plasma glucose ( P < 0 .05) .The genotype frequencies (CC ,CT ,TT ) of M T HFR C677T in GDM group and control group were with significantly difference(P< 0 .05) .Hcy was significantly higher in women with C677T TT genotype than those with CC genotype(P< 0 .05) .Conclusion Hcy could be related to GDM .The mutation of M T HFR might affect serum Hcy level , and be involved in the occurrence and development of GDM .

OBJECTIVEThis study aims to evaluate the nasolabial angle change and the correlation analysis ot Angle'Is Class II division 1 malocclusion patients with vertical growth pattern after tooth extraction orthodontic treatment and provide experimental results to help in making orthodontic treatment plan and treatments.
METHODSA total of 38 Angle's Class II division 1 malocclusion patients with vertical growth pattern and tooth extraction orthodontic treatment were included in this study. Pre- and post-treatment cephalometric X-rays were performed, and 18 measurement items were measured. The change values of pre- and post-treatment, youngsters, and adults were compared to analyze the correlation of the nasolabial angle change.
RESULTSThe nasolabial angle between youngsters and adults was enlarged after treatment, but the nasolabial angle of the adult group changed more significantly. Ul to FH, Ul to NA, U1-NA, Spr-Ptm were reduced after treatment, and the adult group decreased more significantly. The upper lip sulcus and flange thickness, A'-Ptm, upper lip length, and nose prominence were enlarged after the adolescent treatment, but the adult had a certain degree of decrease. The difference had statistical significance. In the correlation of the nasolabial angle change analysis of the two groups, namely, Ul to FH, Ul-NA and U1 to NA had significant negative correlation, significant positive correlation to the upper lip inclination angle, and more significant correlation in the adult group. Upper lip flange thickness and nasolabial angle were negatively correlated, and the upper lip sulcus thickness was positively correlated. However, no significant correlation was observed between these two in the adult group.
CONCLUSIONThe nasolabial angle change of adolescents with vertical growth pattern in class II division 1 malocclusion after extraction treatment is related to the upper anterior teeth hard tissue and upper lip soft tissue, whereas only adults and upper anterior teeth hard tissue are related.

Objective To study the correlation between serum lipids and thyroid function after withdrawn of thyroid hormone in the patients with differentiated thyroid cancer .Methods One hundred and thirty cases of differentiated thyroid carcinoma treated by operative therapy in our hospital form August 2014 to August 2015 were selected .Serum FT4 ,TSH ,FT3 ,triglyceride ,total cho-lesterol ,LDL-C ,HDL-C indexes were detected before discontinuation of levothyroxine sodium (L-T4) ,before operation and 3 weeks after drug withdrawn .Thus the correlation between blood lipid levels and thyroid function was analyzed .Results The HDL-C and the TSH level was positively related before operation (P<0 .05) ,other indexes had no obvious correlation with thyroid function (P>0 .05);the blood lipid levels after medication withdrawn had no obvious correlation with thyroid function (P>0 .05);the total cholesterol levels after medication discontinuation had negative correlation with FT 3 and FT4 levels(P<0 .05);HDL-C was nega-tively correlated with FT3 and FT4 levels(P<0 .05) ,and positively correlated with TSH level (P<0 .05);LDL-C was negatively correlated with FT4 (P<0 .05) .Conclusion When the application treatment of thyroid hormone is suspended ,with the TSH level increase ,the HDL-C level has somewhat elevation ;total cholesterol ,HDL-C and LDL-C levels are negatively correlated with FT 3 and FT4 ,after discontinuation of medication withdrawn ,the blood lipids metabolism abnormality is closely related with thyroid function decline .

AIM: To study the change of cellular immunological function in patients with locally advanced lung cancer before and after operations. METHODS: A lung cancer group of 20 cases with locally advanced lung cancer (group A), a benign disease group of 20 cases with lung benign disease (group B) and a normal group of 20 cases from healthy volunteers (group C) were set up. The levels of the peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets (CD~+_3, CD~+_4, CD~+_8, CD~+_4/ CD~+_8 ratio) were detected in the group A before operation and on the 10th day and 17th day after operation by indirect immuno-fluorescence assay and contrasted with the group B and group C. RESULTS: The levels of T lymphocyte subsets in group A were abnormal before operation, CD~+_3, CD~+_4/ CD~+_8 ratio were significantly lower than those in group B and group C (P

AIM:To establish a method for determing the entrapment efficiency(EE) of Nobiliside-A liposome. METHODS: Sephadex G-50 column filtration method and microcolumn centrifugation method were employed to separate the free drug and liposome. In order to select a better method to determine the entrapment efficiency of Nobiliside-A liposome. RESULTS: The two methods to determine the entrapment efficiency of the Nobiliside-A liposome got the similar results. CONCLUSION: In order to determine the entrapment efficiency of Nobiliside-A liposome conveniently and rapidly, we finally select microcolumn centrifugation method.
