To observe the effect of aerobic exercise on the body shape, cardiovascular, physiology and biochemical indexes of elderly women,we trained 76 old women (volunteers, mean age 58 years old) from urban area of Yulin from 14th July 2005 to 14th January 2006,60 minutes every time,3 times a week. The heart rate during exercise was controlled within 110-125 times per minute. The changes in their body shape (body mass and waistline),cardiovascular function (resting heart rate and blood pressure) and biochemical indexes before and after exercise were observed. The results showed that after 24 weeks of aerobic exercise, the body mass and waistline of the subjects were decreased compared with that before exercise (P

Journal of Practical Radiology 2001;0(05):-
Objective To study the X-ray and CT findings of pneumocystis carinii pneumonia(PCP)in AIDS.Methods 18 cases with PCP in AIDS proved by clinic and pathologically were collected.HIV antibody was positive in all cases.Chest radigraphy and CT scan were taken in all cases. The imaging findings were analysed. Results The typical features of PCP on radiography and CT included unsymmetric diffuse mesh or reticulo-nodular changes, symmetric ground-glass opacification and many more even lobar consolidations which distributed in bilateral hilar regions and middle-lower lung fields. The atypical manifestations included cystic lesions, lobar consolidation, hilar and/or mediastinal adenopathy, pleural effusion, pneumothorax, atelectasis, mass and cavity-mass.Conclusion Plain chest film and CT scan are of important value in diagnosis of PCP.It is possible to diagnose PCP in patients with typical imaging manifestations positive HIV and in combination with clinical data.

Health appropriate technologies are applied nationwide in our country and have produced good results. But the informatization of health appropriate technologies lags behind and is still at a preliminary stage. As the network of Zhejiang basic health appropriate technologies has been estabished, this paper discusses some issues related with the informatization of health appropriate technologies.

Objective To survey and analyze the PBL lessons in the course of Clinical Transfusion Medicine.Evaluate the effect and problems in PBL lessons and explore more effective models. Methods A questionnaire was designed according to the purpose of the survey,4 teachers and 89 students of medical laboratory science in Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine were investigated. Results Students gave high evaluate of both the case and the teachers.Main suggestion was to reduce the class time. When the students were told that the evaluation results will be added to their total score and compared to the teachers' evaluation, they will be more objective. The results were statistically significant. Conclusion PBL cases for Clinical Transfusion Medicine should not be too long.Paying attention to the meaning and feedback of evaluation can greatly improve the enthusiasm and objectivity of the students.

Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2003;0(11):-
Objective To investigate the gene expression of interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1?) in degenerative cervical intervertebral discs and its significance. Methods The specimens of the cervical intervertebral discs were harvested from 12 patients with cervical disc herniation (CDH) and 16 patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) in surgical operations, and categorized according to the MRI disc degeneration classification. The specimens of 8 normal cervical intervertebral discs from fresh corpses were harvested as control group. The expression of IL-1? mRNA was detected by in situ hybridization histochemistry (ISHH) and the difference and change characteristics of IL-1? mRNA expression were compared among groups and each grades. Results The expression of IL-1? mRNA was obviously stronger in CDH and CSM groups than in the control group and stronger in discs of grades Ⅲ and Ⅳ than gradesⅠ and Ⅱ. Conclusion The gene expression of IL-1? was strengthened in degenerative cervical intevertebral discs and the more serious the degeneration, the stronger the gene expression. IL-1? may play an important role in the degeneration of cervical intervertebral discs.

BACKGROUND:Currently, discectomy, fusion or decompression is considered an effective and conventional method for the treatment of spinal disease. Although there have been many reports on the adverse effects of diabetes on spinal surgery, but there are stil some differences. OBJECTIVE:To systematical y evaluate the observational studies and case-control studies about the effect of diabetes on the complications of spinal surgery. METHODS:The control ed and comparative studies regarding the effect of diabetes on the results and complications of spinal surgery were searched from the database according to the inclusion criteria. The observed indicators including mortality, revision rate, surgical site infection, the incidence of venous thrombosis, blood loss, operative time and hospitalization time. Two authors participated in extracting the data and evaluating the methodology and quality of the included studies. Meta-analysis was conducted according to the guidelines of epidemiological observational studies (MOOSE). The risk assessment of the extracted data was conducted using RevMan 5.2 software. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Eighteen literatures, involving 2 824 063 patients, were eventual y enrol ed. The experimental result showed that the mortality, surgical site infection, incidence of venous thrombosis of diabetic patients after the spinal surgery were significantly higher than those of non-diabetic patients;the hospital stay was significantly longer than that of non-diabetic patients (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the risk of revision, intraoperative blood loss and operation time between diabetic patients and non-diabetic patients (P>0.05). These results suggest that diabetic patients take a higher risk once accepting the spinal surgery than the non-diabetic patients. Diabetes increases the risks of postoperative mortality, surgical site infection, venous thrombosis and hospitalization time after spinal surgery.
