2.Selenoprotein S1: A novel inflammatory gene
Journal of Central South University(Medical Sciences) 2007;32(5):723-725
Selenoprotein S1 (SEPS1) , a novel gene involved in the stress response of endoplasmic reticulum and inflammation control. Recent results provide a direct mechanistic link between SEPS1 and the production of inflammatory cytokines, suggesting SEPS1 may play a major role in the mediation of inflammation in IDDM and some other immunological disorders.
3.Correlative factor analysis of loss of functional status in healthy elderly people
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2005;9(47):144-146
BACKGROUND: Health status of elderly people is an important problem concerned by the whole society. To find the way of preventing loss of functional status of daily life for elderly people is the key to generally improving the quality of life in elderly people.OBJECTIVE: To observe the main characteristics of function loss in healthy elderly people and analyze the influencing factors of the change of functional indexes in elderly people in normal functional status.DESIGN: Contrast observation; Logistic analysis.SETTING: Student's Office, Shangrao Normal College.PARTICIPANTS: All the data were from the sampling questionnaire survey on health status of 1 700 people including retired cadres and employees from 11 cities of Jiangxi province. The survey was conducted by Senile Physical Education Association of Jiangxi Province in January 2004.METHODS: The test was performed depending on 4 indexes in physical self-maintenance scale including dressing, taking food, bathing and toileting along with other indexes of shopping, calling, riding, going upstairs to the third floor, walking for 1 000 m, taking things by fingers and squatting & standing. These 11 indexes were used for evaluating the functional status of daily life in elderly people. According to international definition, people with difficulty in one or more indexes could be defined as ability loss of self-cave in daily life. The participants were demanded to give the score of difficulty in independently completing each activity including not difficult (1), somewhat difficult (2), very difficult (3), completely impossible (4). The total sum of 11 scores was defined as functional status index of daily life. Its value reflected the whole situation of functional status of daily life in elderly people. The higher the index was, the worse the functional status was. Comparison was conducted among groups of different gender and age, and Logistic regression analysis was used for evaluationand analysis.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Evaluation of functional index, function loss rate of daily life, index in independent physical self-maintenance ability of daily life.RESULTS: ① Normal functional status of elderly people is various due to the different age, gender, constitution, marital status, living situation, employment history, economic status and education background etc. ② As far as function loss rate of daily life in healthy elderly people was concerned, male was higher than female, and people taking part-time jobs and rehired after retirement were higher than other retirees. When it came to loss rate of motor function of lower limbs, widowed people were higher than not widowed, and the higher the education, the better motor functional status of lower limbs the male had, while the situation was reversed for female.CONCLUSION: Loss rate of normal functional status of elderly people significantly decreases as their age increases, and it is relevant to the complexity and difficulty of activities of life. Normal functional status of elderly people is related to social support, economic status, psychological and mental status.
4.New concept in the pathogenesis of diabetes: glucagonocentric model
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2013;(6):446-447
[Summary] The concept for the pathogenesis of diabetes is now changing from previousinsulinocentric model andinsulin/glucagon bihormonal model to a recentglucagonocentric model.Glucagon excess rather than insulin deficiency may play a more important role in mediating the glucose derangement during insulin insufficiency.Antagonizing glucagon signaling pathway may become a potential therapeutic modality in diabetes.
5.β cell dedifferentiation: new insight into the pathogenesis of β cell failure in type 2 diabetes——Gone backward already...and Coming back again?
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2012;(11):871-873
β cell failure is one of the important components in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes.Protecting and reversing β cell function is a critical part in diabetes treatments. It has been recently discovered that rather than apoptosis,β cell dedifferentiation into an endocrine progenitor-like stage is the main mechanism of β cell failure, which is closely related with the loss of FoxO1 on β cells. Some of these dedifferentiated β cells even have the potency to convert into α-cells.These great discoveries expand our understanding for the β cell exhaustion during the progression of hyperglycemia. It is worthwhile to reconsider our current treatment strategy for type 2 diabetes, especially during the beginning period,to protect rather than stimulate β cells. It also paves the way to develop a brand-new class of hypoglycemic agent to re-differentiate the already dedifferentiated β cells back into insulinsecreting cells.
6.Efficacy of external fixation combined with limited internal fixation for treatment of patients with C type Tile pelvic fracture
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2016;23(12):1861-1863,1864
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of external fixation combined with limited internal fixation in the treatment of C type Tile pelvic fractures. Methods 60 patients with C type Tile pelvic fractures treated in our hospital were selected, and the patients treated with single external fixation were selected as group A,the patients treated with limited internal fixation were selected as group B,the patients treated with external fixation com-bined with limited internal fixation were selected as group C.The postoperative fracture reduction, functional recovery and complications of the occurrence were compared. Results The excellent and good rate of fracture reduction (95%)and excellent rate of fracture function recovery(90%)of group C had statistically significant differences com-pared with those of group A(65%,75%)and group B(75%,70%)(χ2 =4.91,4.14,3.97,3.92,all P <0.05). The incidence rate of postoperative complications of group C(5%)was significantly lower than group A(30%)and group B(25%),there were statistically significant differences(χ2 =4.33,3.92,all P <0.05).Conclusion C Tile type of pelvic fractures with external fixation combined with external fixation has more advantages in clinical applica-tion,can further improve the functional recovery of patients, reduce the incidence of complications.

Journal of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1999;0(02):-
【Objective】To observe the effect of ?-asaricin spray on guinea pigs bronchial asthma.【Methods】Thirty FMMU guinea pigs were equally randomized into three groups:A(treated with ?-asaricin spray),B(treated with aminophylline)and C(model).Ater 7-day treatment, the guinea pigs received nebulization of histamine and acetylcholine to induce asthma models. And the effect of ?-asaricin on asthmatic attack latency and fall latency in guinea pigs was observed. The isolated trachea was used to observe the effect of ?-asaricin on tension of isolated bronchial smooth muscle.Other 30 guinea pigs were also randomized into three groups. The guinea pigs were sensitized with 40?g/L ovalbumin and Al(OH)3 firstly, treated with nebulization therapy for 7 days, and then induced asthma by nebulization of ovalbumin to observe the effect on the degranulation of mastocytes in bronchus and lung tissue.【Results】?-asaricin prolonged asthma latency and fall latency, inhibited the degranulation of mastocytes induced by ovalbumin and Al(OH)3,and promoted the relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle induced by histamine and acetylcholine, the difference being significant(P
8.PLICATION OF SMALL INTESTINE FOR RECURRENT SMALL BOWEL OBSTRUCTION DUE TO ADHESIONS
Chinese Journal of Bases and Clinics in General Surgery 2001;8(3):208-封四
Objective To array the small intestine so that the uncontrollable adhesions will turn to controllable abhesions in order to prevent the intestinal obstruction. Methods Literatures were reviewed. The advance of plication of small intestine has passed through three stages: 1st, sewing the intestine just like the array of harpsichord keys; then, using straight needle with coarse threads to make a 'U' suture for the mesentery of small intestine so the intestine was arrayed, and 3rd inserting a Millers-Abbott tube into the lumen of small intestine followed by manual arrangement of the intestine. Results Using the Millers-Abbott tube the intestine was fixed in a steady position and arrayed in a half moon circular shape to avoid sharp angle. As a result, the intra-luminal pressure of the intestinal was effectively decreased. Follow up 45 cases showed the cure rate of 91.9%. Conclusion This operation has widely been accepted by the surgeons for its simplicity, high efficacy and reliability. It reduces the recurrence rate of adhesive obstruction.
9.The feature, diagnosis, and treatment of fulminant type 1 diabetes
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2010;26(3):181-182
Type 1 diabetes includes two categories:autoimmune (type 1A) and idiopathic (type 1B)diabetes.Fulminant type 1 diabetes is a recently discovered subtype of type 1 diabetes with extremely rapid progression of hyperglycemia and ketoacidosis. The prevalence of fulminant type 1 diabetes among acute-onset type 1 diabetic patients is around 15%-20%.Class Ⅱ HLA genotype and virus infection may contribute to its development. The near-normal HbA_(1C) level despite a very high plasma glucose concentration in patients with ketoacidosis is the clue to diagnosis of fulminant type 1 diabetes.Treatment must be started immediately and aggressively when the diagnosis of fulminant type 1 diabetes is made or strongly suspected.
