Cancer Research and Clinic 2012;(11):755-757
Objective To study the expression of activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule (ALCAM/CD166) in serous ovarian tumors and its significance. Methods The expression level of CD166 protein, estrogen receptor, progestogen receptor were detected by immunohistochemical staining in 56 cases of malignant tumors,30 cases of borderline tumors and 10 cases of benign tumors, the relationship was investigated between the expression of CD166 and clinicopathologic information and its correlation with the expression of estrogen receptor (ER) and progestogen receptor (PR).Results The positive rates of CD166 protein in malignant, borderline and benign epithelial ovarian tumors were 87.5 % (49/56),56.7 % (17/30) and 10.0 % (1/10) respectively, there were significant differences (x2 =7.463,31.054,10.563,all P < 0.01).There were also significant differences in positive rates of CD166 protein among different clinical stages, pathologic grades and lymph node metastasis of epithelial ovarian tumors (x2 =41.205,Z =-4.663,Z =-2.981,all P < 0.01).There was a negative correlation between the expression of CD166 protein and the leves of ER and PR (x2 =23.36,21.441,both P < 0.05).Conclusion CD166 takes part in development and progression of serous ovarian carcinoma. The expression of CD166 increase significantly in ovarian serous carcinoma.

Objective To explore promoter methylation of HIC1 gene and the expression of HIC1/SIRT1 related to the occurrence, development, and metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma. Methods Using Bisulfite sequencing PCR to analyze the promoter methylation of HIC1 gene. Using quantitative real-time PCR and Western blot to analyze expression differences of HIC1 and SIRT1 genes in tissues of papillary thyroid carcinoma(40 cases) and in adjacent normal thyroid(40 cases), of which datas were analyzed by statistics. Results The degree of HIC1 gene promoter methylation was significantly higher than that in adjacent normal tissues(P<0. 01). The degree of HIC1 gene promoter methylation in papillary thyroid carcinoma was related to lymph node metastasis, age, and the tumor-node-metastasis stages(P<0. 01). Compared with the expression of HIC1 mRNA and protein in adjacent normal thyroid tissue, that in papillary thyroid carcinoma was significantly lower(P<0. 01), while the expression of SIRT1 mRNA and protein in papillary thyroid carcinoma was significantly higher(P<0. 01). The lower expression of HIC1 mRNA and protein in the tumor tissues was related to the stage of lymph node metastasis, age, and the tumor-node-metastasis stages(P<0. 05). There was a strong negative correlation between the degree of HIC1 gene promoter methylation and expression of HIC1 in papillary thyroid carcinoma(P<0. 05). The expression of HIC1 mRNA and protein between that of SIRT1 also showed a strong negative correlation(P<0. 01). Conclusion Promoter hypermethylation of HIC1 and aberrant expression of HIC1/SIRT1 in papillary thyroid carcinoma may play a significant role in the oncogenesis and progress of papillary thyroid carcinoma. HIC1 is expected to become a new marker for prevention and treatment of papillary thyroid carcinoma.

For decades, researchers have focused on building genetically and phenotypically stable neural stem cell lines designed to restore the irreversible loss of function of nerve tissue to meet clinical needs. Among them, stem cells that maintain their pluripotent state in adults have also become one of the research focuses. With the development of technologies such as induced pluripotent stem cells and direct differentiation of somatic cells into desired cell types, research methods based on the use of allogeneic neural stem cells derived from embryonic or fetal neural tissue have gradually become a thing of the past. This article will review the basic molecular mechanisms surrounding the maintenance of pluripotent states of stem cells and reprogrammed somatic cells, as well as experimental protocols for inducing neural stem cells.

Objective:To explore the research hotspots and effective promotion paths of post market surveillance and supervise of medical consumables with non-active medical devices. Methods:Data mining methods were used to collect related journal literatures and documents from the websites of China regulatory institutions and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),order sub item data of medical device adverse event reports, extract the MeSH element words of literatures and documents, perform bibliometric analysis and visual display. Results:The number of medical devices adverse event reports in China has been increasing year by year, reaching 694 866 in 2022,in the four statistical years from 2019 to 2022,the number of reports on non-active medical devices and IVD reagents also showed a parallel increasing trend, accounting for about 65.00% of the total number of adverse event reports on medical devices in the year. The bibliometric analysis of journal literature shows that research in this field has received varying degrees of participation from regulatory institutions, universities, medical institutions, and enterprises.Regulatory institutions have contributed 46 articles, accounting for 56.79% of the total number of articles, followed by 28 articles from universities. The co-occurrence analysis shows that hot topic is focused in 5 clusters:quality management, risk management, international experiences discussion and adverse event surveillance and re-evaluation and real-world research.China regulatory institutions attach great importance to post market surveillance and supervise, and have issued more than 20 relevant documents since 2006,focusing on specific topics and gradually deepening around safety and effectiveness. Conclusion:The post market surveillance and supervise of medical devices, especially medical consumables based on non-active medical devices, need to be promoted synchronously in three dimensions:regulatory institutions, medical institutions, and enterprises.Universities, research institutes, and industry organizations should work in coordinating to strengthen the collection, identification, and active surveillance of risk signals based on adverse event surveillance, safety evaluation based on risk management, and conducting real-world research, research and develop risk control and corrective and preventive measures.
