The history of Western Pacific Region Index Medicus (WPRIM), and advances in its journal selection, retrieval service platform construction and data acquisition were described.The daily record of users showed that WPRIM is of certain international influencing power, but is not a matured regional international index medicus. Suggestions were put forward for its popularization, project development funds, journal review and data acquisition.
3.Research on medical instrument information integration technology based on IHE PCD.

Integrating medical instruments with medical information systems becomes more and more important in healthcare industry. To make medical instruments without standard communication interface possess the capability of interoperating and sharing information with medical information systems, we developed a medical instrument integration gateway based on Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise Patient Care Device (IHE PCD) integration profiles in this research. The core component is an integration engine which is implemented according to integration profiles and Health Level Seven (HL7) messages defined in IHE PCD. Working with instrument specific Javascripts, the engine transforms medical instrument data into HL7 ORU message. This research enables medical instruments to interoperate and exchange medical data with information systems in a standardized way, and is valuable for medical instrument integration, especially for traditional instruments.

4.Practice and Experience of Automated Dispensing Cabinet in Wards for Drug Management Mode

OBJECTIVE:To change the drug management mode in wards,promote drug use for patients timely and rationally. METHODS:Automated dispensing cabinet(ADC)was used to manage the drugs in some wards in our hospital,and introduce its use practice from aspects of drug management mode,pharmacists'management to ADC,related measures when using ADC manag-ing ward drugs,effect evaluation after using ADC(using species of base drugs,average time of dispensing temporary medical or-ders,drug returning times in 5 wards before and after using ADC as indexes),etc. RESULTS:Drug management method was es-tablished in ADC by screening drugs into the cabinet and developing process of taking drugs out. And pharmacists had achieved drug management in wards by establishing drug lists,conducting replenishment and inventory management,developing emergency plan,enhancing supervision and inspection,etc. Compared with before using ADC,average species of base drugs in the 5 wards increased from 65.8 to 157.2;average time of dispensing temporary medical orders dropped from 24.5 min to 5.8 min;and average drug returning times in 3 months decreased from about 200 times to about 20 times(P<0.05 or P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS:Us-ing ADC in wards for drug management has not only improved use convenience of drugs in wards,working efficiency of nurses as well as pharmaceutical care quality of pharmacists,but also has changed drug management mode and promoted rational drug use of patients.

6.Relationship between Hot & Cold Characteristics and Curcumin Content in Curcumae Longae Rhizoma, Curcumae Radix and Curumae Rhizoma

Objective: To evaluate the cold and hot characteristics of Curcumae longae Rhizoma, Curcumae Radix and Curumae Rhizoma, and study the relationship between the content of curcumin in the three herbs and the hot and cold characteristics.Methods: MTT assay was used to investigate the effect of the three herbs on the growth of SGC-7901 in vitro.Trypan-blue staining was used to analyze the cytotoxicity, and the content of curcumin was detected by HPLC.Results: Curcumae longae Rhizoma and Curumae Rhizoma could promote the proliferation of SGC-7901 at the dose of 5 μg·ml-1 and showed hot characteristics;Curcumae Radix could inhibit the growth and proliferation of SGC-7901 within the concentration range of 5-800 μg·ml-1.Trypan-blue staining showed the three herbs had no cytotoxicity on SGC-7901.The content of curcumin in Curcumae Longae Rhizoma, Curcumae Radix and Curumae Rhizoma was 4.88%, 0.15% and 0.042%, respectively.Conclusion: The content of curcumin in the three herbs affects the hot and cold characteristics, and curcumin may be the important material basis for the hot and cold characteristics.

AIM: To investigate the relationship between serum soluble E-selectin (sE-selectin) and insulin resistance, serum uric acid, serum lipid in essential hypertension patients. METHODS: Fasting serum sE-selectin concentration, plasma glucose, serum insulin, serum uric acid, total cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein-cholesterol, low density lipoprotein-cholesterol were determined in 186 patients with essential hypertension (75 males, 111 females). Thirteen of 4-anilinoquinazoline derivatives with imine groups at position 6 of quinazoline ring were synthesized and their antitumor activities were evaluated by MTT assay and Western blotting analysis. Among these compounds, 13a-131 were reported first time. The MTT assay was carried out on three human cancer cell lines (A549, HepG2 and SMMC7721) with EGFR highly expressed. Among the tested compounds, 13i and 13j exhibited notable inhibition potency and their IC50 values on three cell lines were equivalent to or less than those of gefitinib. Compound 14, without imine group substituted, displayed excellent inhibitor potency only on A549 cell line. Compounds 14 and 13j were chosen to perform Western blotting analysis on A549. The results showed that both of the compounds could inhibit the expression level of phosphorylated EGFR remarkably. It was concluded that the inhibitor potency of compound 14 was almost equivalent to that of gefitinib and the inhibitor potency of 13j was better than that of gefitinib.

[Summary] Cytochrome P450 oxidoreductase deficiency ( PORD) is a rare disease, which is a subtype of congenital adrenal hyperplasia. The predominant signs include no puberty development, infantile reproductive organs, ear deformities, and bone synostosis in skull or limbs. Here, we analyzed the clinical features of a case with PORD confirmed by gene sequencing. The pathology, genetic features, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment for PORD were reviewed.
