Integrating medical instruments with medical information systems becomes more and more important in healthcare industry. To make medical instruments without standard communication interface possess the capability of interoperating and sharing information with medical information systems, we developed a medical instrument integration gateway based on Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise Patient Care Device (IHE PCD) integration profiles in this research. The core component is an integration engine which is implemented according to integration profiles and Health Level Seven (HL7) messages defined in IHE PCD. Working with instrument specific Javascripts, the engine transforms medical instrument data into HL7 ORU message. This research enables medical instruments to interoperate and exchange medical data with information systems in a standardized way, and is valuable for medical instrument integration, especially for traditional instruments.

OBJECTIVE:To change the drug management mode in wards, promote drug use for patients timely and rationally. METHODS:Automated dispensing cabinet(ADC)was used to manage the drugs in some wards in our hospital, and introduce its use practice from aspects of drug management mode, pharmacists'management to ADC,related measures when using ADC manag-ing ward drugs, effect evaluation after using ADC(using species of base drugs, average time of dispensing temporary medical or-ders,drug returning times in 5 wards before and after using ADC as indexes),etc. RESULTS:Drug management method was es-tablished in ADC by screening drugs into the cabinet and developing process of taking drugs out. And pharmacists had achieved drug management in wards by establishing drug lists, conducting replenishment and inventory management, developing emergency plan, enhancing supervision and inspection, etc. Compared with before using ADC,average species of base drugs in the 5 wards increased from 65.8 to 157.2;average time of dispensing temporary medical orders dropped from 24.5 min to 5.8 min;and average drug returning times in 3 months decreased from about 200 times to about 20 times(P<0.05 or P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS:Us-ing ADC in wards for drug management has not only improved use convenience of drugs in wards, working efficiency of nurses as well as pharmaceutical care quality of pharmacists, but also has changed drug management mode and promoted rational drug use of patients.

AIM: To investigate the effects of internal change of serum insulin and plasma glucose levels on serum free fatty acid (FFA) concentrations after glucose loading. METHODS: Serum insulin, plasma glucose and FFA concentrations were measured simultaneously in 234 essential hypertension patients who were undergoing oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) [ including 20 cases with 2 type diabetes mellitus (DM), 74 impaired glucose tolerance (IGT), 140 normal glucose tolerance (NGT); 98 males, 136 females]. RESULTS: Fasting serum FFA concentration (?mol/L) in DM ((1 048.47)?481.6) was higher than that in IGT (760.1?332.1) (P

AIM: To investigate the relationship between serum soluble E-selectin (sE-selectin) and insulin resistance, serum uric acid, serum lipid in essential hypertension patients. METHODS: Fasting serum sE-selectin concentration, plasma glucose, serum insulin, serum uric acid, total cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein-cholesterol, low density lipoprotein-cholesterol were determined in 186 patients with essential hypertension (75 males, 111 females). Homeostasis model assessment was applied to assess the status of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR). RESULTS: Based on the HOMA-IR, the essential hypertension patients were divided into insulin-sensitive individuals (IS) and insulin resistant subjects (IR). The serum sE-selectin concentration was significantly higher in male group [(50.1?17.8)?g/L] than in female group [(40.6?16.6)?g/L] (P

[Summary] Cytochrome P450 oxidoreductase deficiency ( PORD) is a rare disease, which is a subtype of congenital adrenal hyperplasia. The predominant signs include no puberty development, infantile reproductive organs, ear deformities, and bone synostosis in skull or limbs. Here, we analyzed the clinical features of a case with PORD confirmed by gene sequencing. The pathology, genetic features, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment for PORD were reviewed.

Thirteen of 4-anilinoquinazoline derivatives with imine groups at position 6 of quinazoline ring were synthesized and their antitumor activities were evaluated by MTT assay and Western blotting analysis. Among these compounds, 13a-131 were reported first time. The MTT assay was carried out on three human cancer cell lines (A549, HepG2 and SMMC7721) with EGFR highly expressed. Among the tested compounds, 13i and 13j exhibited notable inhibition potency and their IC50 values on three cell lines were equivalent to or less than those of gefitinib. Compound 14, without imine group substituted, displayed excellent inhibitor potency only on A549 cell line. Compounds 14 and 13j were chosen to perform Western blotting analysis on A549. The results showed that both of the compounds could inhibit the expression level of phosphorylated EGFR remarkably. It was concluded that the inhibitor potency of compound 14 was almost equivalent to that of gefitinib and the inhibitor potency of 13j was better than that of gefitinib.

Based on repeated experiments as well as continuous researching and improving, an efficient scheme to measure velocity and displacement of the coxa and knee movements based on video image processing technique is presented in this paper. The scheme performed precise and real-time quantitative measurements of 2D velocity or displacement of the coxa and knee using a video camera mounted on one side of the healing and training beds. The beds were based on simplified pinhole projection model. In addition, we used a special-designed auxiliary calibration target, composed by 24 circle points uniformly located on two concentric circles and two straight rods which can rotate freely along the concentric center within the vertical plane, to do the measurements. Experiments carried out in our laboratory showed that the proposed scheme could basically satisfy the requirements about precision and processing speed of such kind of system, and would be very suitable to be applied to smart evaluation/training and healing system for muscles/balance function disability as an advanced and intuitional helping method.

ObjectiveTo study the relationship between C-erbB-2 and estrogen (ER) and progesterone (PR) receptors, and the relationship between C-erbB-2, ER, PR with histologic grade. MethodsTo detect ER, PR and C-erbB-2 states by using immunohistochemical analysis and fluorescence in situ hybridization for C-erbB-2 in 163 unselected invasive breast carcinomas. ResultsC-erbB-2, ER ,PR were expressed in 21.5% ,64.4% ,44.2% of 163 cases respectivly . 5 pure mucinous carcinomas , 3 tubular carcinomas and 1 micropapillary carcinoma were ER + ( 100.0% ) 、C-erbB-2 - ( 100.0% ) and PR + (40.0% ,66.7%, 100.0% ). C-erbB-2 was positive in 22.3% of grade Ⅱ and 27.0% of grade Ⅲ invasive ductal carcinomas and negative in all grade Ⅰ invasive ductal carcinomas.ER and PR expression were decreased significantly in C-erbB-2 + tumors compared with C-erbB-2 - tumors( ER,25. 7% vs 75.0% ; PR,25.7% vs 49.2% ). Although ER or PR expression is decreased in C-erbB-2 + tumors, a substantial proportion of them still express ER or PR. ConclusionC-erbB-2 overexpression or amplifcation was limited to a minority of invasive breast carcinomas. Tumour grade was an independent predictor for ER expression. ER was expressed in small number of high-grade and in large number of grade Ⅰ invasive ductal carcinomas. C-erbB-2 overexpression or amplification essentially was limited to grades Ⅱ and Ⅲ ductal carcinomas and correlated inversely with ER or PR expression.
