1.Research progresses on K-RAS mutation of non-small cell lung cancer
Basic & Clinical Medicine 2010;30(2):212-214
Mutated K-RAS is found in 15%~30% NSCLC patients, the mutations of K-RAS and EGFR are mutually exclusive,K-RAS mutations have poor sensitivity to EGFR-TKIs. The response of C-225 is not restricted to mutated K-RAS, NSCLC patients with K-RAS mutations are associated with unfavorable prognosis. A number of different approaches such as Ftase inhibitors, RAF inhibitors, MEK inhibitors aimed at abrogating K-RAS activity to improve clinical response have been explored in clinical trials.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of rhGM-CSF in prevention of neutropenia caused by chemothera- py of cancer patients. Methods: A muticenter, randomized, match and crossover clinical study was conducted. 64 enrolled patients were randomized into AB and BA groups and each patient received two cycles of combination chemotherapy.Results:59 patients were evaluted for clinical efficacy.rhGM-CSF significantly increased the number of WBC and ANC at the stage of nadir. The period when the patients, rhGM-CSF also resulted in a hastening recovery from leucopenia and neutropenia. Conclusion: The administraton of rhTM-CSF ensures the implement of sheduled combination chemotherapy. The main side effects such as fever, osteomyalgia, skin rash were generally tolerable.

Objective To investigate the factors relating to oral infection in elderly patients treated with head and neck radiotherapy for malignant lymphoma and to provide the clinical basis for the prevention and treatment of oral infections. Methods A total of 97 patients treated with head and neck radiotherapy for malignant lymphoma from March 2007 to March 2012 were enrolled. The factors relating to oral infection after head and neck radiation therapy were analyzed. Results Totally 25 patients (25.77%,25/97) had oral infections. The single-factor analysis showed that education degree, occupation, cancer staging, oral self-cleaning,oral environment, chemotherapy were the important factors relating to oral infection (x2 =8.634,6.863,9.237,11.870,7.563,8.012,P<0.01).The incidence of oral infection had no significant differences between male and female patients. Conclusions There are many factors relating to oral infection in elderly patients treated with head and neck radiotherapy for malignant lymphoma, and poor oral self-cleaning,history of gum disease and chemotherapy are the important related factors.

[Objective] To screen and identify the new Y-STR loci from the Y chromosome and examine the polymorphism of these Y-STR loci. [Method] To seek and locate the position of 5 Y-STR loci, including DYS709, DYS720, DYS721, DYS722, and DYS723, and perform sequencing of these 5 Y-STR loci. Then to investigate the polymorphism in unrelated Chinese Han males. [Results] Five Y-STR loci were identified from Y chromosome sequence. By scrutinizing the physical position on Y chromosome of previously reported Y-STRs, we found that three loci were novel and two loci overlapped with two loci published only online. All loci could be male-specifically amplified with a product size ranging from 185 bp to 278 bp. After 108 males of the Chinese Han Population (Guangzhou) were examined, we found 5 DYS709, 11 DYS720 alleles, 4 DYS721 alleles, 6 DYS722 alleles, and 6 DYS723 alleles. A total of 95 haplotypes were identified, 84 of which were unique, and with a haplotype diversity of 0.997 2±0.001 2(HD±SE). [Conclusion] This set of Y-STRs can be used as Y chromosome genetic makers in related fields.
