Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2015;(3):194-198
Objective:To observe the clinical effects of acupuncture at Yaotongdian (EX-UE 7) plus the oblique Ban-pulling manipulation for acute lumbar sprain. Methods:A total of 180 patients were divided into an observation group and a control group by drawing lots. The 98 cases in the observation group were treated by puncturing Yaotongdian (EX-UE 7) plus the oblique Ban-pulling manipulation. The 82 cases in the control group were only treated by the oblique Ban-pulling manipulation. After the two groups were treated continuously for three sessions, the therapeutic effects were observed. Results:In the observation group, 96 cases were cured and 2 cases were improved; the curative rate was 98.0% and the total effective rate was 100%. In the control group, 76 cases were cured, 4 cases were improved and 2 cases failed; the curative rate was 92.7% and the total effective rate was 97.6%. In comparison of the curative rate and total effective rate, the differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05). But, the curative rate after the first treatment was higher in the observation group than that in the control group, with a significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapeutic effects were similar by acupuncture at Yaotongdian (EX-UE 7) plus oblique Ban-pulling manipulation and by single oblique Ban-pulling manipulation for acute lumbar sprain. But, it took effect quickly by puncturing Yaotongdian (EX-UE 7) plus the oblique Ban-pulling manipulation.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of Huatan Xiezhuo Recipe (HTXZR) on fatty liver of rats. METHODS: Forty-eight SD rats were randomly divided into five groups: normal control group, untreated group, Dongbao Gantai Tablet (DBGTT)-treated group, low-dose HTXZR-treated group and high-dose HTXZR-treated group. Fatty liver was induced in the rats by hyperlipid diet and intraperitoneal injection of tetracycline. The pathological changes of liver tissues in rats were observed, and the liver function, serum leptin, insulin resistance index, triglyceride (TG) and free fatty acid (FFA) in the liver were detected. RESULTS: The levels of serum leptin, insulin resistance index, FFA and TG in rats of the three treated groups were lower than those of the untreated group (P<0.01), and such effects in the HTXZR-treated groups were more significant than those in the DBGTT-treated group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: The main action mechanisms of HTXZR in treating fatty liver are probably to promote the lipid metabolism, decrease the leptin and insulin resistance.

A method for the determination of methylmercury in seafood has been developed using dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction followed by direct mercury analyzer. Total mercury was detected by direct mercury analyzer, and inorganic mercury was calculated by the difference. The parameters affecting the extraction efficiency, including the selection of extractant and dispersant, their volume ratio, concentration of HCl and NaCl have been optimized in this study. The results showed that CH2 Cl2 as extractant, ethanol as dispersant, Volume ration of 1:5, 1 mol/L HCl and 120 g/L NaCl were chosen. The detection limit and the dynamic liner range were 0. 10 μg/L and 0. 2-20 μg/L, respectively. The relative standard deviation was 6. 0% for eleven replicates at the spiked level of 2. 0 μg/L. The enrichment factor was 8. For total Hg determination, the detection limit and the dynamic liner range for methylmercury were 0. 10 μg/kg and 0. 2-50 μg/kg, respectively. The relative standard deviation was 2. 4%. The method was simple, fast and a little solvent needed. Some certified reference materials were analyzed to validate the accuracy of the proposed method, and the results were in good agreement with the reference value. Besides, the method was applied to the real samples with satisfactory results.
