Journal of Chinese Physician 2010;12(4):437-439
Objective To evaluate the relationship between retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL)thickness measured by optical coherence tomography (OCT) and the refractive error and age using partial correlation analysis. Methods A total of 106 right eyes of healthy subjects, comprising 33 eyes with high myopia ( spherical equivalent [SE] < - 6. 0 D) , 60 eyes with moderate myopia ( - 6. 0 D ≤ SE < - 3.0 D) and 13 eyes with low myopia and emmetropia ( -3.0 D≤SE <0. 5 D) were analyzed in this cross-sectional study. Mean clock hour, quadrant and total average RNFL thicknesses were measured by OCT and compared among the three groups respectively. Associations among RNFL measurements and spherical equivalent and age were evaluated by partial correlation analysis. Results The mean RNFL thickness measurement in high myopia(95.74 ± 13.46) μm was significantly lower than that in moderate myopia group ( 101.43 ± 11.53 ) μm, low myopia group and emmetropia group ( 108. 06 ± 8.42) μm ( P < 0. 05 ). Positive correlations were found between RNFL measurements at 1, 5, 6 and 12 o'clock, superior and inferior quadrant, and total average RNFL and SE ( r = 0. 36,0. 33,0. 43,0. 29,0. 28,0. 39, P < 0. 01, r = 0. 22,P <0. 05), while negative correlations were found between RNFL measurements at 8, 9 and 10 o'clock and temporal quadrant and SE ( r = -0.21, P <0.05, r = -0.36, P <0.01; r = -0.24, P <0.05; r = -0. 30, P <0. 01 ). RNFL measurements at 2, 3, 4 and 6 o'clock and nasal and inferior quadrant varied with age ( r = -0.20,-0.20,-0.20,P <0.05,r =0.31,P <0.01). Conclusions RNFL measurements varied with the refractive error and age. Analysis of RNFL thickness in the evaluation of glaucoma should always be interpreted with reference to the refractive status and age. In the same time, the location of the RNFL should be noted.

Objective:To observe the effects of ultrasound-guided paravertebral nerve block combined with general anesthesia on intraoperative stress response, hemodynamics and postoperative pain of patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Methods:A total of 92 patients undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy in Wuhan Third Hospital between January 2017 and August 2019 wereselected. They were divided into the control group (63 cases) and the observation group (29 cases) by voluntary. The control group were given simple general intravenous anesthesia, and the observation group were given ultrasound-guided paravertebral nerve block combined with general intravenous anesthesia. Changes in hemodynamic parameters and concentrations of blood angiotensin-Ⅱ (AT-Ⅱ) and cortisol (Cor) in the two groups were observed. The cerebral state indexes (CSI) of both groups were recorded, and pain degree of patients was evaluated with the visual analogue scale (VAS).Results:The mean arterial pressure (MAP) and heart rate (HR) of the observation group were higher than those of the control group at 30 min after anesthesia, 30 min after operation, 3 hours after operation ( P<0.05), the stroke volume variation (SVV) was lower than that of the control group ( P<0.05); the AT-Ⅱ, Cor and CSI in the observation group were lower than those in the control group at each time point ( P<0.05); The dosage of narcotic drugs in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group ( P<0.05); The recovery time of spontaneous breathing, recovery time, extubation time and respiratory satisfaction time in the observation group were less than those in the control group ( P<0.05), and the VAS scores at 3 h, 6 h and 12 h after operation in the observation group were lower than those in the control group ( P<0.05). Conclusions:Ultrasound-guided paravertebral nerve block combined with general anesthesia can effectively reduce the patient's stress response during laparoscopic cholecystectomy, with good analgesic effect, which is helpful to maintain the hemodynamic stability of patients.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a turbidimetric method for the determination of the potency of the crude drugs and tablets of oxytetracycline. METHODS: By turbidimetric method in which Staphylococcus aureus was used as the test organism with biomass concentration of 1.0%~1.5% (V/V). The culture temperature was 37 ℃ and the culture time was about 4 h. The method was compared with the cup-plate method in potency. RESULTS: The linear range of oxytetracycline was 0.05~0.4 IU?mL-1. The average recovery of the crude drug of oxytetracycline was 99.59% (RSD=2.0%) and that of oxytetracycline tablets was 99.51% (RSD=1.91%), showing no significant difference as compared with the cup-plate method in contents. CONCLUSIONS: The method was sensitive and rapid yet with few influencing factors thus applicable for the determination of the potencies of oxytetracycline and its tablets.
