China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(3):397-401
MicroRNA(miRNA) is involved in virtually all biologic processes, including cellular proliferation, apoptosis, and differentiation. Thus, miRNA deregulation often results in impaired cellular function and disease development, so miRNAs have potential therapeutic relevance. The elucidation of these processes regulated by miRNAs and the identification of novel miRNA targets in the pathogenesis of hypertension is a highly valuable and exciting strategy that may eventually led to the development of novel treatment approaches for hypertension. Several mechanisms have been implicated in the pathogenesis of hypertension: overactivation of therenin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), dysfunction of the vascular endothelium, damnification of vascular smooth muscle. To maintain and restore target organ expression of miRNA stable may be a new strategy for treatment of hypertension. The article reviews pathogenesis of miRNA and hypertension, researches of miRNAs as biomarker and therapeutic target, discusses advances in miRNA-based approaches that may be important in treating hypertension.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(34):5485-5490
BACKGROUND:Hydrophobic acrylic foldable intraocular lens should be evaluated biologicaly with New Zealand rabbits as implant objects prior to clinical trial. OBJECTIVE:To observe the biological safety of hydrophobic acrylic foldable intraocular lens. METHODS: Twelve New Zealand rabbits were enroled. The right eyes were implanted with self-developed hydrophobic acrylic foldable intraocular lens (Shenyang Baiao Medical Device Co., Ltd., China) as experimental group, and the left eyes were implanted with Acrysof IQ SN60WF (Alcon, USA) as control group. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: After implantation, there were no significant differences in the cornea, anterior chamber, implant position, posterior segment of eyebal between two groups. Tissue proliferation had no obviously difference between the two groups, and there were cornea and lens pouch inflammations. No macrophages and other inflammatory cels were visualized on the surface of intraocular lens, and fibrous tissues were found on the intraocular lens surface and in the haptics root. These findings suggest that the self-developed hydrophobic acrylic foldable intraocular lens has no difference from Acrysof IQ SN60WF widely used in clinic, and it has the biological safety.

Neonatal inherited metabolic diseases are a group of metabolic disorders caused by singe gene defect to cause a series of clinical symptoms.Neonatal dried blood spots have the advantages of simple preparation, safety, good stability, and show strong practicability in different screening methods for inherited metabolic diseases. With the development of screening methods, more and more diseases could be diagnosed by screening. The emergence of tandem mass spectrometry and molecular biological techniques promote the newborn screening and automation for inherited metabolic disease effectively.Inherited metabolic diseases induce great harm to the newborn, which could cause not only system organs damage, but also lead to death. Therefore, early screening is important for patients' prognosis.

Objective To evaluate the relationship between the carotid atheroscalerosis and coronary artery disease. Methods High frequency ultrasonography was used to examine the carotid artery in seventy two patients who had undergone coronary artery angiography because of acute myocardiac infarction, angina or chest pain. They were divided a group with normal coronary angiography and another group with coronary artery lesion. The latter group included three subgroups according to the number of coronary artery involved: B1 group, B2 group, and B3 group. Scoring of atherosclerosis of the common carotid artery, internal carotid artery and external carotid artery were made with reference to plaques, the intima media thickness (IMT) and the V max of blood flow of the carotid artery as demonstrated by high frequency ultrasonograply. Results The IMT of the group with coronary lesion was significantly higher than that of the normal group ( P

Objective The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different level of sex steroids (?-estradiol and progesterone) on the proliferation of uterus endometrial epithelial cells. Methods Rabbit uterus endometrial epithelial cells were isolated by digestion of trypsin and centrifugation. The specificity and homogeneity of the endometrial epithelial cells cultured in media containing ?-estradiol and progesterone were determined by immunofluorescence staining of cytokeratin monoclonal antibody and the flow cytometric analysis. The different concentration of progesterone (P4) and ?-estradiol (E2) were added in media, the proliferative capability of the endometrial epithelial cells cells in vitro was determined indirectly by MTT assay. Results High purity endometrial epithelial cells (96%) were isolated using centrifugation method. The endometrial epithelial cells were examined by immunofluorescence staining. The endometrial epithelial cells were positive stained by anti-cytokeratin antibody. Immunofluorescence staining demonstrated that cytokeratin was detectable in the cytoplasm of epithelial cells. The cell growth curve showed that the proliferation of endometrial epithelial cells was not significantly changed by the treatment of E2 (100nmol/L) or P4 (100nmol/L) individually, but a combination of 100nmol/L E2 and 10nmol/L P4 could promote its proliferation greatly (P
