BACKGROUND: In order to enhance the rate and degree of osseointegration of cementless implants, hydroxyapatile(HA) was applied on the different prosthesissurfaces. Themajoritiesofthesestudieshaveutilized non-weight-bearing in vivo dog models and have focused on the fixation of the femoral component. What is the osseointegration of macrotextured acetabular components in a weight-bearing model(dog) like?OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the various macrotextured surface coatings applied to acetabular components of the same design in aweight-bearing canine total hip replacement model.DESIGN: Randomized conparative study using theexperimentalanimals as subjectsSETTING: Department of Ortopaedics, Beijing Tongren Hospital;PathologyDepartment, Bone and Joint Laboratory,St. Michael' s Hospital, U of T,Toronto,CanadaMATERIALS: The experiment was completed in the Pathology Department,Bone and Joint laboratory, St. Michael' s Hospital, U of T, Toronto, Canada from October 2001 to December 2001. Acetabular components with the selected surface characteristics were implanted into forty dogs with the body mass of 29 - 44 kg of either gender and divided into seven groups, including group 1 (AD/HA), Group 2 (CoCr beads/PA), Group 3 (CPTi bead surface),Group 4(CPTi 30 PPI foam),Group 5(CPTi 30 PPI/PA foam),Group 6(CPTi 40 PPI foam), Group 7(CPTi 40 PPI/PA foam).METHODS: Exercise was restricted to leash walks for the first fourteen days post-operatively. After this, dogs were allowed unrestricted activity. The dogs were euthanized at either three or sixmonths after surgery as the project' s protocol. The whole acetabulum,divided into weight-bearing and non weightbearing areas, containing the component was harvested and submitted for histological and histomorphological assessment. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:The bone ongrowth and ingrowth with weight bearing and without weight bearing areas in each group.RESULTS:There was significantly greater bone apposition and bone ingrowth for implants withHAcoatingsascompared to uncoated implants. There was also significantly greater bone ingrowth in weight-bearing areas as compared tonon weight-bearing areas at both time periods. The bone growth into AD/HA was 17％ at 3 months and descended to 14％ at 6 months. The bone growth into CPTi beads surface was 21％ at 3 months,30％ at 6months in weight-bearing areas. All four foam-coating surfaces there were 15％ to 21％ ongrowth at 3 months,15％ to 32％ at 6 months and 21％to 32％ingrowth at 3 months,29％to 45％at 6 months in weight-bearing areas( P ＜ 0.05).CONCLUSION: Hydroxyapatite coating produces significantly greater boneingrowth andappositionin all thesurfacetreatmentstestedinthis study. Weightbearingproducesagreater boneingrowththannon weight-bearing areas and obviously increases with the time prolonging, especially the foam coating

OBJECTIVE:To develop an HPLC method for the determination of 5-ISMNconcerntrations in human plasma and study the pharmacokinetics of 5-ISMN orally disintegrating tablets and the reference tablets.METHODS:A single oral dose test capsule(orally disintegrating tablets)or reference capsule of 5-ISMN(60 mg)were administered by randomized crossover way in 20 healthy male volunteers with plasma 5-ISMN concentrations determined by HPLC.The pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated with 3p87 pharmacokinetic program and the bioavailability of the two preparations was evaluated.RESULTS:The main pharmacokinetic parameters of the test preparation vs.the reference preparation were as follows:Cmax:(613.42?73.83)vs.(368.64?38.66)?g?mL-1;tmax:(26.52?2.00)vs.(95.73?4.16)min;AUC0～∞:(73 872.24?543.89)vs.(77 978.47?646.37)ng?min?mL-1,respectively.CONCLUSION:The assay was proved to be sensitive,accurate and suitable for pharmacokinetic study of 5-ISMN.The results of pharmacokinetic study after oral administration of test and reference preparations of 5-ISMN showed that the two preparations were bioequivalent while the test preparation had a higher peak concentration and could reach peak level in less time,and the test preparation showed a rapid drug releasing behavior.

Objective To probe multislice spiral computed tomography(MSCT) features of superacute cerebral infarction.Methods 19 cases with superacute cerebral infarction were retrospectively analysed.MSCT scans were performed in all patients at 1～6 h after onset,and the lesions were proved by MSCT or MR at 3 h～5 d after onset.MSCT signs of superacute cerebral infarction were observed.Results 17 cases and 2 cases were diagnosed and suspectively diagnosed with superacute cerebral infarction by CT at first visit of patients.CT features of superacute cerebral infarction included hypodense of cerebral parenchyma in 19 cases,local cerebral swelling in 13 cases and hyperdense sign of cerebral artery in 3 cases.Conclusion MSCT plain scan has significant value in diagnosis of superacute cerebral infarction.

Objective To investigate the method of endovascular puncture to establish rabbit models of cerebral vasospasm. Methods New Zealand white rabbits were divided into 5 groups (12 h,1 d,2 d,3 d and 7 d) randomly, and each group was separated into subarachinoid hemorrhage (SAH) subgroup (n = 5) and control subgroup (n = 2). cerebral vascular spasm (CVS) models were established atfer SAH with endovascular puncture. CT scans before and after operation were performed. The internal diameters and the wall thicknesses of posterior communicans artery (PcoA) and basilar artery (BA) were measured with HE stain after the animals were executed. Results CVS model was successfully eastblished in 35 rabbits (SAH subgroup 25,control subgroup 10), resulting a successful rate of 48.61% . Compared with control subgroup, PcoA and BA showed shrinkage of internal diameters of 43.60% and 51.82% 12 h after SAH, respectively, and the shrinkage appeared as biphasic patterns until the 7th study day with another peaks of 29.32% and 45.19%, respectively. Conclusions Endovascular puncture is an effective method to establish rabbit of CVS. The death rate of animals can be decreased with the asage of new interventional material and perfection for the details of operation.

Because of the wide range of back spring power, it is easy to reach the best training mount and to do the continually training under the biggest training mount. It is beneficial to the joint active function improvement. From June 2006 to February 2008, this kind of apparatus was used in 30 patients with footdrop at the Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University. The design of the extremity multifunctional training box is reasonable, and it is easy for carrying and operating. It is also helpful for the patient to do muscle exercise themselves, and the joint function can be persisted and improved by continual exercise using this apparatus.

A device for promoting normal locomotor activity recuperation was made, which was composed by frame, elastic bolt and normal gait mark carpet. The patient could do gait training by he/her self or assistant self training under the weight reducing and protecting of the device in order to improve the walking ability and the normal gait formation. It is effective for preventing drop foot and leg adduction, and also helpful for the recovery of normal gait ability and the prevention of abnormal gait formation. It is applicable for the patient who can not be trained with ordinary weight relief walking training, such as severe cerebral palsy and severe spasmodic lower extremity and foot drop after brain injury. The results demonstrated that the device is effective in protecting, correcting, preventing abnormal gait as well as forming normal gait.

Objective To develop one kind of device that can not only reduce the body weight,but also provide a good condition for training lower extremity potentialities.Methods The body weight bearing support and protection system,body weight reducing system and scaled footboard were made respectively.The lower extremity potentialities,nervous conduction speed and leg motion coordination ability training were done under protection and body weight reducing.Results The potential training device could exactly protect the patient and reduce body weight,and make the training step by step.Under the effects of protecting and body weight reducing of the potential training device,the training could be performed together with the Chinese traditional medicine rehabilitation method;that was physical and breathing exercises.The lower extremity potentialities were developed nicely.Conclusion The lower extremity potentialities training device is a useful training device which can bear body weight,have protective effect,develop lower extremity potentialities and improve coordination ability of lower extremities.

Objective To evaluate the feasibility, safety, and efficacy of Y-shaped jogged stent in patients with malignant hilar biliary obstruction. Methods During the period of January 2010 to June 2015,We retrospectively reviewed 98 cases of malignant hilar biliary obstruction who were received implantation of biliary tract stent. 17 consecutive patients who were treated with Y-shaped jogged stent were identified (group A) during January 2012 to June 2015. Group A was carefully matched according to patients' age, sex, type of tumor, stage, type of biliary obstruction, level of bilirubin at diagnosis, presence of metastasis and treatment, and 17 patients who were underwent unilateral stent placement alone with PTCD were chosen as control group (group B). Patients' baseline characteristics, stenting strategy, complications, stent patency time and survival rates were analyzed, and continuous variables of the two groups were compared using Student's t-test. Categorical variables were analyzed using the Fisher exact test. Results Y-shaped jogged stent implantation group and control groups were closely matched in terms of patients' age, sex, type of tumor, stage, type of biliary obstruction, level of bilirubin at diagnosis, presence of metastasis and treatment ( P>0.05). The bilirubin decreased rate in the two groups was 88.2%and 53.0%respectively (P<0.05). The median time of stent patency after stent implantation was(7.3 ± 1.0)months and(5.7 ± 0.9) months respectively (χ2=4.04,P=0.044), and the median survival time was(9.1 ± 1.5)months and(7.2 ± 1.1)months (χ2=4.60,P=0.032), with significant difference according to Kaplan-Meier analysis. There were no severe complications such as massive hemorrhage, perforation, biliary fistula and severe pancreatitis, which were associated with stent implantation. Conclusions The application of Y-shaped jogged stent is safe, feasible and effective in patients with malignant hilar biliary obstruction. It can relieve the clinical symptoms of biliary obstruction effectively with prolongation of stent patency time and survival rate significantly.

In order to investigate the levels of stem cell factor (SCF) and its receptor c-kit protein and mRNA in pediatric aplastic anemia (AA) and their relevance to the pathogenesis, immunocytochemical and in situ hybridization were utilized to detect the expression of SCF and its receptor c-kit gene protein and mRNA, respectively in 59 children with AA and 51 normal controls. The relationship between SCF and c-kit and the pathogenesis of AA was analyzed subsequently. The results showed that the positive rate of SCF protein and mRNA expression in children with AA was significantly lower than that in healthy controls (P < 0.05). However, there was no significant difference in the positive rate of c-kit protein and mRNA expression between children with AA and control group (P > 0.05). It was concluded that the expression of SCF is significantly decreased in children with AA, which may be closely associated with the pathogenesis of the AA. c-kit may be unrelated to the development of pediatric AA. Therefore, AA in children may have abnormalities at SCF/c-kit signal transduction levels.
