Sixty-fourth patients with vascular dementia were recruited in the study and randomly assigned in rehabilitation (medication plus rehabilitation)and control group (medication alone). The treatment period lasted for 12 weeks, the scorings of mini mental statement examination(MMSE) and activity of daily living scale (ADL) were compared before and 4,8,12 weeks after treatment in both group. The scorings of MMSE and ADL in rehabilitation group and control group were both improved after treatment(P <0.05),but the scorings in rehabilitation group were better than those in control group(P<0.05).

OBJECTIVETo investigate the role of substance P in the formation of hypertrophic scar.
METHODSDermal fibroblasts derived from human normal skin were cultured with substance P alone or together with selective non-peptide NK-1 tachykinin antagonist, L-703, 606 oxalate salt. The effect of substance P on proliferation of fibroblasts was measured by MTT assay. Furthermore, the TGF-beta 1 mRNA expression in the fibroblasts was determined by in situ hybridization and image analysis.
RESULTSSubstance P enhanced fibroblast proliferation dose-dependently, which showed the maximum rate when the concentration of substance P was 25 ng/ml or higher in the culture media. By 48 hours cultured with 25 ng/ml of substance P, the fibroblasts expressed TGF-beta 1 mRNA more significantly than the fibroblasts without substance P. The effects of substance P on both fibroblast proliferation and TGF-beta 1 mRNA expression could be antagonized by L-703, 606 oxalate salt.
CONCLUSIONThe results suggest that substance P may play an important role in phenotype changes of fibroblasts in skin scarring.

Sanggenon C is a kind of flavonoid compound mainly extracted from the traditional Chinese medicine Morus alba. The pharmacological effects and mechanisms of sanggenon C are systematically reviewed and summarized, and it is found that this component can improve pulmonary fibrosis by regulating transforming growth factor-β1 and nuclear factor-κB; it can exert anti- tumor effects by inhibiting the proliferation of tumor cells and inducing the apoptosis of tumor cells; it can exert cardioprotective, neuroprotective and hepatoprotective effects by regulating multiple signaling pathways, such as calcineurin/nuclear factor of activated T cells 2, peroxisome proliferators-activated receptor α, and Ras homolog gene family member A/Rho-associated coiled- coil containing protein kinase, enhancing autophagy, reducing inflammatory response and reducing the level of oxidative stress; it can treat osteoporosis by inhibiting osteoclast uptake and promoting osteoblast formation; it has certain inhibitory effect on many enzymes; it can exert anti-inflammatory effects by regulating nuclear factor-κB signaling pathway; it can exert antioxidant effects by scavenging free radicals. However, researches on the pharmacological effects of sanggenon C mostly focus on the cellular and animal field, and the specific mechanism of action is not yet clear. In the future, basic research and clinical trials are still needed to explore and verify.
