2.Serum CA125 and ALDH1 levels for diagnosis and postoperative follow-up of endometriosis

ABSTRACT:Objective To investigate CA125 and ALDH1 levels in diagnosis and postoperative follow‐up of endometriosis (EMs) .Methods Serum CA125 and ALDH1 levels were tested by enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in 105 patients with EMs and 100 healthy subjects who came to our hospital between January 2011 and June 2013 .Results The preoperative serum CA125 and ALDH1 levels of EMs patients were significantly higher than those in the control group ( P<0 .05) .Serum ALDH1 levels in stages I and II of EMs were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0 .05) ,but there was no difference in serum CA125 level between the two groups ( P>0 .05) .Taking CA125≥35 U/mL and ALDH1≥2 .0 pg/mL as the boundary values ,the specificity , sensitivity ,positive predictive value and negative predictive value of serum CA 125 combined with ALDH1 for diagnosis of EMs were 87 .1% ,91 .6% ,84 .6% and 89 .3% ,respectively .One month after operation ,serum CA125 and ALDH1 levels of EMs patients were decreased significantly (P<0 .05) ,but they were still higher than those in the control group ( P<0 .05) .Six months after operation ,their serum CA125 and ALDH1 levels did not differ from those in the control group (P>0 .05) .Relapse occurred in 1 patient 1 year after treatment and in 6 patients 2 years after treatment ;all these patients had a higher serum ALDH1 level than the control group ,but only 2 of them had a higher serum CA125 level .Conclusion The combined detection of serum CA125 and ALDH1 has a higher sensitivity in diagnosis of EMs .Serum ALDH1 level increases in stages Ⅰ and Ⅱ and recurrent patients and can become a better serum marker for early diagnosis and detection of the recurrence of EMs in patients .

Methods In this study, we established animal models induced by HS and endotoxin, observed the expressions of NF-?B mRNA and heat shock protein 70(HSP 70) mRNA by In-situ hybridization (ISH) in liver kupffercells(KC) and studied the pathologic changes of the liver tissue by microscope. ObjectiveTo explore the renal functions of vasopressin-deficient Brattleboro(BB) rats by using different concentrated Gadolinium-diethylenetetramine pentaacetic acid(Gd-DTPA) dynamic enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).MethodsThe study included 14 BB rats(male rats of 3 month-old) and 14 normal male Wistar rats used as control group.Dynamic MRI was performed by using either a low dosage(0.05 mmol/kg) or a high dosage of Gd-DTPA(0.5 mmol/kg).Data of 0-60 min renal cortex,medulla and pelvic were obtained after using contrast medium.MRI of kidneys at different time was analyzed and the mean relative signal intensity(RSI) was measured.Then the RSI curves of different groups were marked.Data of each group were caculated separately by SPSS 11.0 software.ResultsThe findings demonstrated that RSI curves of the vasopressin-deficient kidneys showed different patterns as compared with those of the control group(P
6.Research progress in the structure and function of dengue virus non-structural 1 protein.

Dengue virus (DENV) is a re-emerging disease transmitted by the Aedes mosquitoes and has become a major public health problem in southern China. Currently, no antiviral drug or effective vaccine exist to control this disease. The chimeric DENV structural protein vaccine cannot elicit balanced levels of protective immunity to each of the four viral serotypes; therefore, non-structural protein components may be required to construct an effective DENV vaccine. The Dengue virus non-structural 1 (DENV NS1) protein plays a critical role in viral pathogenesis and protective immunity. Therefore, immunity to Dengue 1-4 NS1 subtypes may be crucial for the prevention of severe disease. This review attempts to provide an overview about the structure and function of DENV NS1.

8.Clinical research of fetus distress treated with hyperoxin liquid

Objective To observe the effect of fetus distress treated with hyperoxin liquid and to provide evidence for this treatment.Methods A total of 70 lying-in women with fetus distress during cesarean section were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group was given infusion of hyperoxin liquid by vein and control group was given 50g/L glucose.The blood gas was analyzed in the two groups,and the SOD and MAD of fetus ambilical blood were also tested.The blood gas analysis and the Apgar scoring of neonates were carried out.Results The PaO2 in pregnant and lying-in women and SOD,PO2,SaO2,HCO-3 and BE of fetuses in treatment group were obviously higher than those in control group.The MDA and PCO2 were significantly lower than those in control group.The Apgar score in treatment group was better than that in control group.Conclusion Hyperoxin liquid can improve the anoxia status of fetus distress and save time for further clinical treatment.
9.Mechanism with extremely low frequency electromagnetic field and X-ray irradiation on liver carcinoma BEL-7402 cell lines

Objective To investigate the mechanism of extremely low frequency electromagnetic field (ELF-EMF) and X-ray irradiation on liver carcinoma cell lines BEL-7402. Methods Liver carcinoma cell lines BEL-7402 had been incubated with ELF-EMF (100 Hz, 0.7 mT, 30 min, 3 days) after X-ray irradiation at different doses (0, 2, 4, 6, 8,10 Gy). The cells were observed on morphologic changes with scanning electron microscope. Flow cytometry and gene microarray were used to investigate the mechanism of cell apeptosis. Results ELF-EMF plus X-ray induced apoptosis on BEL-7402 was observed under scanning electron microscope.When X-irradiation was 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 Gy, the apoptosis ratios of combined group and only X-irradiation group were 10.0%, 14.5%, 4.3%, 5.1%, 7.1% and 0.1%, 8.1%, 0.1%, 0.4%, 2.2% (P < 0.05) on flow cytometry. The result of microarray indicated that 1465 genes were up-regulated and 1108 down*regulated in the ELF-EMF plus X-ray group in comparison with the control group. The change rates of 110 apoptosis related genes were above 2 times, which including 71 up-regulated and 39 down-regulated. Gene microarray showed that ELF-EMF and X-ray irradiation had a mainly effect on different gene of apoptosis paths (CDC25 and CHKI, ATM, p38, PTEN, p53, G1/S, Fas, G2/M, Cell Cycle, Apoptosis and Caspase). The same genes of ELF-EMF plus X-ray group were showed 13 in ELF-EMF group and 42 in X-ray group. Conclusions Apoptosis paths were significantly different between ELF-EMF and X-irradiation. ELF-EMF cooperates with X-irradiation on inducing BEL-7402 cell apoptosis.
10.Effect of isoflurane anesthesia on noise-induced hearing loss in guinea pigs

Objective To evaluate the effect of isoflurane anesthesia on noise-induced hearing loss in guinea pigs.Methods Forty-eight healthy adult male guinea pigs,aged 3 months,weighing 400-500 g,were randomly divided into 4 groups (n =12 each) using a random number table:control group (C group),isoflurane group (I group),noise-induced hearing loss group (N group),and isoflurane + noise-induced hearing loss group (I + N group).Isoflurane was inhaled for 140 min at a concentration of 1% in I and I + N groups.N and I + N groups were exposed to the noise of 4 kHz center frequency and 118-122 dB sound pressure level for 120 min starting from 20 min after administration.Mean arterial pressure (MAP) was recorded at 10,40,70,100 and 120 min of exposure to noise and cochlear blood flow (CoBF) was recorded before administration and at 10,40,70,100 and 120 min of exposure to noise.Auditory brainstem response (ABR) threshold was recorded before administration and at 1 h,72 h,and 10 days after the end of exposure to noise.Arterial blood samples were obtained and the plasma noradrenaline (NE) concentration was detected by HPLC before exposure to noise and immediately after the end of exposure to noise.Results Compared with group C,MAP and the change rate of CoBF were significantly decreased,and the plasma NE concentration was increased immediately after the end of exposure to noise in I group,and MAP was increased,the change rate of CoBF was decreased,and the plasma NE concentration immediately after the end of exposure,and ABR threshold after the end of exposure were increased in N and I + N groups.Compared with N group,MAP was significantly decreased,the change rate of CoBF was increased,the plasma NE concentration immediately after the end of exposure,and ABR threshold at 1 and 72 h after the end of exposure were increased,and no significant was found in ABR threshold at 10 days after the end of exposure in I + N group.Conclusion Isoflurane anesthesia exerts temporary but not permanent protective effects against noise-induced hearing loss in guinea pigs and partial inhibition of activation of sympathetic nerve and increased CoBF may be involved in the mechanism.
