Objective To understand the status of hand hygiene(HH) among patients hospitalized in departments of infectious diseases and their families in Yantai City, and provide reference for HH intervention.Methods Patients and their families(n=221) in departments of infectious diseases of secondary and above levels of hospitals as well as infectious diseases hospitals in Yantai in July-August 2015 were selected for questionnaire survey, education and implementation status of HH were investigated;hand bacteriological sampling was performed on some patients and their families (n=62) to investigate effect of hand-washing.Results 61.99% of patients and their families had received verbal HH education, only 18.55% indicated to have seen health care workers(HCWs) to perform the six step hand-washing method;50.68% of the respondents didn't understand the six step hand-washing method, and 85.52% never performed the six step hand-washing, the main reason is that they didn't know how to perform.93.21% of patients(n=206) and their families believed that hand-washing was important.The cognition of HH opportunities in daily life was relatively higher(61.54%-94.51%),and in hospital environment was relatively lower(36.15%-49.23%),only 36.15% of the families washed hands before left the hospital.Unqualified rate of detection results of sampling of hands of patients with infectious diseases and their families was 83.87%.Conclusion Patients with infectious diseases and their families are deficient in HH knowledge and behavior, medical institutions should carry out systematic and standard HH education to reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infection.

Aim To study the effect of Curcumin on the apoptosis of hepatic stellate cells (HSC), and the correlation between the effect and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor ?(PPAR?) signal.Methods The HSC was isolated from normal SD rats through in situ perfusion of liver with protease E and density-gradient centrifugation with Nycodenz.The subcultured cells were treated with corresponding compounds. Cell apoptosis was detected by Hoechst 33258 staining. PPAR? subcellular distribution was detected by immunofluorescent staining. Total RNA, total protein and nuclear protein were extracted respectively, target gene and protein levels were determined by semi-quantitative RT-PCR or Western blot.Results There was nearly no apoptosis in activated HSC. Curcumin treatment induced the apoptosis of HSC, enhancing PPAR? nuclear translocation/redistribution.At the transcription and translation level,curcumin upregulated nuclear PPAR? expression, inhibited anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 expression, and promoted pro-apoptotic Bax expression; but all these effects could be reversed by PPAR? antagonist GW9662.Conclusions Curcumin induces HSC apoptosis by enhancing PPAR? expression and nuclear translocation/redistribution.

Objective To study the relation between the effect of Curcumin on the proliferation and activation of hepatic stellate cells(HSC)and the expression of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor?(PPAR?).Methods The rat HSC was isolated from SD rats through in situ perfusion of liver with Pronase E and density-gradient centrifugation with Nycodenz.The subcultured cells were treated with corresponding compound.The inhibition effect on HSC proliferation was determined by MTT colorimetry.The total RNA was extracted by TRizol reagent,and the gene expression level of PPAR? and smooth muscle actin (?-SMA)were determined by semi-quantitative RT-PCR.The total cellular proteins were extracted and separated by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis,and the protein level of ?-SMA was determined by Western blotting.Results The MTT analysis results showed that Curcumin inhibited HSC proliferation between 10 and 50 ?mol/L in a dose-dependent manner.In the Day 1,4,7 of primary HSC and passaged HSC,the expression of PPAR? mRNA decreased with HSC activation extent;Curcumin could up-regulate the expression level of PPAR?.Curcumin suppressed the expression of ?-SMA not only at the gene level but also at the translation level.But all these effects of Curcumin on HSC could be blocked by the PPAR? specific antagonist GW9662.Conclusion The effect of Curcumin on HSC cell proliferation and activation is through the up-regulation of PPAR? signal.

In order to determine the challenge dose of pigeon paramyxovirus type 1 (PPMV-1) inactivated vaccine (S-1 strain). The virus titer of PPMV-1 E5 allantoic fluid (Chuansha strain) was determined using SPF chicken embryos in this research. After inoculating 30-day-old and 120-day-old pigeons with low-HI antibody against PPMV-1 (HI antibody < or =2) with different doses of PPMV-1 (Chuansha strain), the clinical symptoms and histopathological lesions of the challenged pigeons were examined. The results showed that the minimal lethal dose (MLD) of PPMV-1 (Chuansha strain) was 102.5 ELD50, so we determined that 10(5.5) ELD50, which was 1000 times the MLD, could be taken as the challenge dose in the vaccine efficacy test for PPMV-1 inactivated vaccine (S-1 strain).

Xenotransplantation is a feasibility way of solving the shortage of human organs for transplantation. Although it is urgently needed to satisfy the demand of people and sustain the function of human organs, there are multiple hurdles existed to clinical application, such as the immune rejection between human body and the xenografts, the infection of pathogens and a series of ethic, morality and social issues. A historical retrospect of xenotransplantation was given, and then probe into the strategies according to the main problems and the actualities. Finally, the prospect in the field of xenotransplantation was showed.

AIM: To research the correlation factor of the anterior segment values of eyes with different axial lengths.METHODS: In this study, 697 cases 697 eyes were included.According to axial length we divided all the cases into short axial length group, normal axial length group, mild long axial length group, moderate long axial length group and severe long axial length group.The relevant indicators of the anterior segment values of patients in the five groups was comparatively analyzed.RESULTS: In the short axial length group, the anterior chamber volume (ACV) showed a significantly negative correlation with age;anterior chamber depth (ACD) showed a significantly negative correlation with age.In the normal axial length group, the ACV showed a significantly negative correlation with age and a significantly positive correlation with axial length(AXL);the anterior chamber angle (ACA) showed a significantly negative correlation with age and a significantly positive correlation with AXL, and a significantly positive correlation with corneal curvature;the ACD showed a significantly negative correlation with age and a significantly positive correlation with AXL.In the mild long axial length group, the ACV showed a significantly negative correlation with age and a significantly positive correlation with AXL, and a significantly negative correlation with corneal curvature;the ACA showed a significantly negative correlation with age and a significantly positive correlation with AXL, and a significantly positive correlation with corneal curvature;the ACD showed a significantly negative correlation with age and a significantly positive correlation with AXL.In the moderate long axial length group, the ACV showed a significantly negative correlation with age;the ACA showed a significantly positive correlation with AXL;the ACD showed a significantly positive correlation with AXL.In the severe long axial length group, the ACV showed a significantly negative correlation with age.There were no significant differences on ACV, ACA and ACD among mild long axial length group, moderate long axial length group and severe long axial length group (P>0.05), while the difference between other groups was significant (P<0.05).CONCLUSION: There has a correlation between the anterior chamber values (ACV, ACA, ACD) age and AXL for eyes which AXL were 22-27mm, while the correlation would disappear as the AXL became shorter or longer.There was a significant growth trend of anterior chamber values for eyes with AXL <27mm.

AIM:To observe the expression of tumor necrosis factor-alpha ( TNF- α) and its receptor I ( P55 ) in different pterygium and discuss the role of TNF-α and receptor I (P55) in pterygium.
METHODS: Immunohistochemistical staining method ( PV) was adopted to detect the expression of TNF-α and receptor I in pterygium ( 72 eyes ) and para-pterygium conjunctival tissue ( 30 eyes ) . The relationship between the expression and clinical-pathological parameters was also analyzed.
RESULTS:The positive rates of TNF-αwere 65. 3% (47/72), 26. 7% (8/30) in pterygium and para-pterygium conjunctival tissue. The positive expression of TNF-α had statistic difference between the two groups (χ2=12. 706, P<0. 01). The positive rates of TNF-α receptor I were 56. 9% (41/72), 16. 7% (5/30) in pterygium and para-pterygium conjunctival tissue. The positive expression of P55 had statistic difference between the two groups (χ2=13. 875, P<0. 01). The positive rate of TNF-αin recurrent pterygium group was higher than primary pterygium group (χ2=6. 547, P=0. 011). There had no statistically significance of the expression intensity between the two groups (F=1. 288, P=0. 393); the positive rate in advanced pterygium group was higher than quiescent pterygium group (χ2=4. 082, P=0. 043). The expression intensity had no statistically significance between the two groups (F=0. 489, P=0. 708). The positive rate of P55 in recurrent pterygium group was higher than primary pterygium group (χ2 =9. 907, P= 0. 002). There had no statistically significance of the two group's expression intensity ( F = 1. 175, P = 0. 424 ); the positive rate in advanced pterygium group was higher than in quiescent pterygium group (χ2=11. 140, P=0. 001). The expression intensity had no statistically significance between the two groups (F=0. 665, P=0. 621).
CONCLUSION:The expression of TNF-α and P55 are changing according to the development of clinical staging and onset. The expression of TNF-α and P55 may be related to clinical classification, staging and patient's working conditions of pterygium. There has no significant difference expression intensity of TNF - α and P55 in clinical staging and onset of pterygium.

We performed a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to investigate the efficacy and safety of ticagrelor (TIC) vs.clopidogrel (CLO) in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).In Jun 2016,a literature search was started and all the studies were conducted from 2010 to 2015.We systematically searched the literature through the MEDLINE database,Cochrane library,and EMBASE database.Quality assessments were evaluated with Jadad quality scale.Data were extracted considering the characteristics of efficacy and safety designs.Six RCTs enrolling 26 244 participants and satisfying the inclusion criteria were finally analyzed.There was a significant decrease of all-cause mortality (MD=0.83,95％CI=0.74-0.93,P=0.001) and myocardial infarction (MI) (MD=0.78,95％CI=0.70~.88,P=0.000).There were no significant differences in stroke (MD=1.34,95％CI=0.99-1.79,P=0.06),total bleeding (MD=0.97,95％CI=0.84-1.12,P=0.66),minor or major bleeding (MD=l.06,95％CI=0.94-1.19,P=0.35) in patients undergoing PCI after treatment with TIC vs.CLO.TIC could be more significant in decreasing all-cause mortality and MI than CLO,but there were no significant differences between TIC and CLO in inhibiting stroke,major bleeding,major or minor bleeding in patients undergoing PCI.
