1.Chondroitin sulfate proteogly can and the plasticity of central nervous system
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2012;20(5):378-383
Chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan (CSPG) is a group of extracellular matrix molecules expressed widely in the developing and mature central nervous system (CNS).They play an important role during embryonic CNS development and adult CNS plasticity. As a major extracellular inhibitory compound,CSPG can affect the axon regeneration and neurological recovery after CNS injury.

Objective To study the effect of continuous venovenous haemodiafiltration (CVVHDF) on the clearances of various solutes in multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS)dogs. Methods Dogs were subjected to hemorrhagic shock plus resuscitation and endotoxemia to set up MODS model, then they were randomly divided into 2 groups: MODS group (M group)and MODS+CVVHDF group (M+C group).A PRISMA pre-dilution system with AN-69 filter was applied.Solute clearance of nitric oxide(NO),urea nitrogen(UN),creatinine (Cr),interleukin-6 (IL-6),interleukin-10 (IL-10),tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and endotoxin (LP) was determined with same dialysate and ultrafiltrate volume during CVVHDF.The clearance of various solutes (Kd) was calculated by the concentration of the cleared solutes in effluents (E) based on the formula Kd=(ExQE)/P.Results Clearances of NO,UN,Cr were greater than those of IL-6,IL-10,TNF-α,LP during the treatment of CVVHDF.Conclusion CVVHDF could effectively reduce the levels of various solutes in the development of MODS by convection and absorption.

Objective To explore the influence of time and dose of mannitol on neural and renal functions in the treatment of hepertensive cerebral hemorrhage. Methods 300 patients with hepertensive cerebral hemorrhage were divided into full-dose group and half-dose group.Full-dose group was divided into group A and group B,and half-dose group was divided into group C and group D.Full-dose group given 20% mannitol 250ml,and half-dose group was given 20% mannitol 125ml.Groups A and C were given drug 12h after incerebral hemorrhage occurs, and groups B and D were given drug in the occurrence of cerebral hemorrhage within 12h.The neural and renal functions of every group were compared before the treatment and one week after that. Results The treatment of full-dose group and hulf-dose group was all better, the total effective rate was 71.3%,72.7%,respectively,and there was no significant difference between the two groups ( P > 0.05 ).The total effective rate of groups A,C ( 92.0%,90.7 % ) was significantly higher than that of groups B,D (53.3%,50.7% ) ( all P < 0.05 ).The number of cases [ ( BUN increased more than 7remol/L,61 cases) and(Cr increased more than 133remol/L,64 cases)] in full-dose group was significantly higher than that of half-dose group( 17 cases,17 cases) ( all P < 0.05 ).Conclusion The effect of full-dose and half-dose mannitol in the treatment of hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage is all better, but renal injury in halfdose mannitol was lower.Giving drug 12h after incerebral hemorrhage occurs is more conducive to hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage controlled, and could better improve the prognosis.

Objective To evaluate the effect of limited arthroscopic debridement under local anesthesia for knee osteoarthritis. Methods A retrospective analysis was made including a total of 63 patients (77 knees ) with knee osteoarthritis. There were 11 male and 52 female, with an average age of 56.5 years old(range from 38~71 years old). The limited arthroscopic debridement included removal of loose bodies hyperplastic synovum, degenerated cartilage and the injured meniscus. The average follow-up period was 2.1 years (from 6 month to 4 year).Outcomes were assessed by JOA knee function score and rate of satisfactory. Results During the follow-up,the patients showed significant improvement of knee function score from 41 point to 78 point.Clinical outcomes of 77 knees were excellent in 31 knee, good in 28 knee, fair in 12 knee, poor in 6 knee. The rate of good and excellent results was 76.6%. Conclusions Limited arthroscopic debridement under local anesthesia for knee osteoarthritis is a relative simple and effective method. It could alleviate pain and improve function of the paticents.

Chinese Journal of Neurology 2000;0(05):-
Objective To observe the changes of the content of ATP,lactate and the activity of phosphofructokinase(PFK) in perihemotoma region in rabbit brain after intracerebral hemorrhage. Methods(The rabbits) were divided into 3 groups: normal group(N),hemorrhage group (H) and the sham group(S). The H and S groups were subdivided into 1 h, 6 h, 12 h, 24 h, 48 h and 72 h groups. A model of cerebral hemorrhage in rabbit with autologous blood infusion was set. The contents of ATP, lactate and water in perihemotoma region were measured and the metabolite concentration in edematous brain regions were corrected for dilution. The activity of phosphofructokinase was also determined. Results There was obvious edema in perihemotoma region at 1 hour postinfusion and getting more serious at 72 hours. ATP was moderately decreased at 1 hour, and remained in a similar level until 12 hours. There appeared another evident decrease in 24 hours [(13.29?2.92) ?g/g, about 58% of N group], and no obvious changes from 24 to 72 hours. The content of lactate increased in 1 hour and reached the peak at 12 hours [(21.01?0.18) ?mol/g]. Until 72 hours , the level of lactate [(12.89?0.25) ?mol/g] in hemorrhage group reach higher than in the normal and sham group. The activity of phosphofructokinase was decreased at 1 hour [(3.98?0.02) U/mg] and remained in a decreasing tendency to 72 hours. Conclusion The failure of energy metabolism occurs in 24 hours postinfusion, coming late somewhat to the brain edema. The result might be related to the changes of some enzymes, maybe a key role in energy metabolism.
9.Experimental Study of Preparation and Characteristics of Biomaterials Fabricating Esophageal Prosthesis
Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2003;0(10):-
Objective To investigate the characteristics and cytocomptibility of porcine aorta fixed with genipin in vitro and to provide the proper biomaterials for fabrication of esophageal prosthesis. Methods The porcine aortas were treated by genipin for 7min to 7days, were then examined with naked-eye and light microscope. Subsequently, the fixation index determination and the biomechanics test were also performed. The cytotoxicity of the genipin-fixed materials was evaluated in vitro by MTT assay using a mouse -derived established cell line of L-929 fibroblasts as test cells. Results The experimental results indicated that the antigenicity of porcine aorta tissues could be diminished by genipin through getting rid of cell in the porcine aorta tissues and reducing the level of free amino groups in the porcine aorta tissues. The structural integrity of porcine aorta tissues can be preserved after treating with genipin. It was also found that the genipin-fixed porcine aorta tissues appeared more toughness and visco-elasticity. The RGR of genipin-fixed porcine aorta tissues was high which presumed a low cytotoxicity of this material. Conclusion The Genipin-fixed porcine aorta should be a promising material for fabricating esophageal prosthesis or fabricating scaffold of tissue-engineered esophagus.
