Chinese Journal of Immunology 1985;0(03):-
Genetic polymorphism of properdin factor B (Bf)of alternative complement pathway was investigated in 110 patients with Gravesldisease and in 220 blood donors in Wuhan Blood Transfusion Center using high voltage agarose gel electrophoresis andsubsequent immunofixation. Results show that distributions of Bf phenotype observed in normals are in agreement with those expected from the Hardy-Weivr, erg equilibrium (XZ=5.4337, Pc~0.10),but in patients donlt (XZ=29.689~, Pc.

Objective To observe the changes of extracellular matrix(ECM) production and hypertrophy of glomerular mesangial cells(GMCs) induced by high glucose(HG),and the inhibitory role of myriocin(ISP-1).Methods GMC cultured with normal glucose(5.6 mmol/L D-Glucose,NG),HG(25.2 mmol/L D-Glucose) and HG plus ISP-1(100 mg/L) for different durations(0,24,48,(72 h)).The sizes of GMC were indicated by forward scatter intensity, measured by flow cytometery, and the levels of fibronection(FN),collagen Ⅳ(Col Ⅳ),laminin(LN),precollagen Ⅲ(Pcol Ⅲ) and hyaluronic acid(HA) in the supernatant of cultured GMC were detec-(ted) by ELISA.Results Compared with NG,HG could induce GMC hypertrophy(P

Objective To study prognosis of patients with fulminant hepatitis after plasma ex- change treatment using model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)scoring system. Methods 160 pa- tients were randomly divided into plasma exchange group and control group, and MELD score was calculated according to the original formula for each patient. The efficacy of plasma exchange was as- sessed by mortality and improvement in biochemical parameters and MELD score. Results The levels of total bilirubin(TBIL),INR and MELD score of patients whose MELD scores were between 30 and 40[TBIL,(379.4?40.4)?mol/L; INR,2.5?0.2; MELD,30.8?3.8]were lower than before PE treatment[TBIL,(509.7?64.6)?mol/L;INR,3.5?0.3;MELD,37.3?3.5].The levels of TBIL and INR and MELD score of patients whose MELD scores were higher than 40 [TBIL,(595.6?61.5)?mol/L;INR,3.8?0.4;MELD,39.8?3.5]were lower than before PE treatmem [TBIL, (650.4?66.3)?mol/L;INR,4.4?0.6;MELD,45.2?4.2].The mortality of patients in PE group with MELD score from 30 and 40 was 50.0%,while it was 86.7% in control group, showing significant differ- ence between PE group and control group(P<0.01).The mortality of patients with MELD scores higher than 40 was 91.2% in PE group and 100% in control group, showing no significant difference between these two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions Plasma exchange treatment can decrease the serum TBIL level, INR and MELD score of patients with fulminant hepatitis and improve liver function.Compared with the control group, plasma exchange can significantly decrease the mortality of patients in PE group with MELD score from 30 to 40,but no effect on patients with MELD score higher than 40.

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of lamivudine in preventing liver injury induced by anti-tuberculosis drugs in hepatitis B virus(HBV)carriers. Methods One hundred and ten HBV carriers treated with anti-tuberculosis drugs were randomly divided into lamivudine group and control group.Patients in both groups were treated with conventional anti-tuberculosis drugs (isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide, streptomycin or ethambutol)for 6-8 months. However, patients in lamivudine group were treated with lamivudine 100 mg orally dairy concomitantly. Before and after treatment, the clinical manifestation, liver function and serum HBV DNA level of patients were evaluated.Statistical analysis was performed using t test and x~2 test. Results During 6-8 months of treatment, the incidence rate of liver injury was 9.1% in lamivudine group, while it was 38.2% in control group(P0.05).Conclusion Lamivudine is effective and safe in reducing liver injury induced by anti-tuberculosis drugs in HBV carriers.

Objective To evaluate the efficiency of primary hepatic carcinoma(PHC)using tran- scatheter arterial chemoembolization(TALE)combining with MSC.Methods Treatment group(30 patients with unresectable PHC)adopt MSC after TALE,while control group(10 patients with unresectable PHC)only adopt TALE,then observing the curative effect and survival rate. Results One year after treating, the local effect was 90 %,60 %,1~2 year survival rate was 90 %,30 % respectively, median life span was 15 months. Conclusion To treat PHC with TALE combining with MSC is an effective and non-invasive method.

Objective To establish a desirable quantitative assay system to evaluate the correlation between surgical manipulation and micrometastasis in primary esophageal cancer patients. Methods 118 pe- ripheral blood samples from 40 esophageal cancer patients undergoing radical resection were collected before surgery(B-1),immediately after surgery(B0)and at the third day postoperatively(B+3).Based on real-time quantitative reverse transcription-PCR,carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)mRNA gene was used in the detec- tion.12 patients with benign tumor and 13 healthy volunteers were collected as negative control groups.Re- sults The median of CEA mRNA copies at B-1,B0 and B+3 were 1592,13 314 and 6221 copies/ml blood, respectively.CEA mRNA expression levels were found to be significantly higher at both B0 and B+3 than that of B-1(P=0.0001 and 0.0209,respectively).No significant difference was found between B0 and B+3(P= 0.4396).Conclusion Surgical manipulation on esophageal cancer patients increases the probability of mi- crometastasis. Therefore, adjuvant therapy is needed during perioperative stage.

ObjectiveTo study the effect of Rehabilitative Ankle-Foot Orthoses training program on walking function of hemiplegic patients after stroke .Methods95 patients were randomly divided into two groups: observed group (49 cases) and control group (46 cases). The patients of control group were trained by routine rehabilitation training program, the patients of observed group were trained by Rehabilitative Ankle-Foot Orthoses and routine rehabilitation training program.ResultsAfter training, either observed group or control group showed significant improvement at walking function and ADL(P<0.01), but the improvement on observed group were more marked than coutrol group(P<0.01 and P<0.05). ConclusionsThe ability of walking in acute stroke patients were obviously improved, and the degree of the disability of them was decreased by Rehabilitative Ankle-Foot Orthoses.
