OBJECTIVE:To promote the application of Personal data assistant(PDA)in the management and service of clinical medical information.METHODS:The application of PDA in medical fields and the chief function,the connotation of in_ formation service and whom the service aimed at were introduced.RESULTS:PDA was widely used in overseas medical infor-mation management and service for its distinct virtues of portability,speedy and accurate information service.CONCLUSION:PDA is an important vehicle in helping medicinal professionals’access to information.

OBJECTIVE:To study the effects of grape seed proanthocyanidin(GSP)on the transmembrane transport of sodium glycocholate (GA) and sodium taurocholate (TA) in colon glandular cell Caco-2. METHODS:Caco-2 model was used,and RP-HPLC was conducted to determine the contents of GA and TA in cell culture medium. The test was divided into GSP group, GA group,TA group,GSP+GA group and GSP+TA group,the transport volumes of transporting GA and TA from Transwell apical (AP)side to basolateral(BL)side by Caco-2 cell at 0,2,4,8 h were detected,respectively. RESULTS:The linear ranges of GA and TA were 0.05-1.2 mmol/L(R2=0.9999). With the time passing,transport volumes of GA and TA in BL site in GA group and TA group were sharply increased;while the transport volumes were obviously decreased after adding GSP,with statistical signifi-cance(P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS:GSP has inhibitory effect on the transmembrane transport of GA and TA in Caco-2 cell.

Based on the data resources of National Information Management System of Public Health Emergency Report,we analyzed the distribution,characteristics,trend and influencing factors of public health emergency in Sichuan Province in 2005,and put forward the following countermeasures: improving system and mechanism,intensifying information report,carrying out surveillance and prediction,strengthening communication of different departments,widely propagandizing and educating,and increasing fund input.

Zymonomas mobilis was transformed with a polyhydroxybutyrate synthesis operon phbCAB equipped with a pdc promoter from Z. mobilis. For the first time,PHB was produced in recombinant Z.mobilis. Shake flask studies indicated that accumulation of PHB in Zymomonas mobilis increased approximately 10% ethanol productivity for the first 48h of anaerobic fermentation. After that,the PHB effect was observed as insignificant probably due to the exhaustion of the sugar.

Objective To investigate the correlation of preoperative pain threshold and pain tolerance threshold with the intensity of stress reaction induced by endotracheal intubation and skin incision. Methods Fifty ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ women, aged 20-55 yr, undergoing elective abdominal surgery requiring at least a 10-cm-long skin incision under general anesthesia, were studied. The electricity dolorimeter was used to measure the patients' pain sensitivity, including pain threshold and pain tolerance, and a State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) was also used to examine the mental state the day before surgery. Total intravenous anesthesia was performed in all the patients.Anesthesia was induced with TCI of propofol 4 μg/ml (effect-site concentration). After patients lost consciousness,fentanyl 3 μg/kg and vecuronium 0.1 mg/kg were injected intravenously. Tracheal intubation was performed 3 min later and the patients were mechanically ventilated. MAP and HR were recorded and arterial blood samples were taken for determination of plasma concentrations of norepinephrine (NE) at 10 min after entering operation room (T1), immediately before intubation (T2), 2 min after intubation (T3), immediately before incision (T4) and 2 min after incision (T5). The differences in MAP, HR and plasma concentrations of NE before and after intubation and skin incision were calculated. SPSS 13.0 statistical software was used to analyze the correlation of STAI,pain threshold, and pain tolerance threshold with the differences in MAP, HR and NE before and after intubation and skin incision. Results Pain threshold was not correlated with the differences in MAP, HR and NE (P ＞0.05). Pain tolerance threshold was negatively correlated with the differences in MAP (r= - 0.766, r =-0.688,P＜0.05), HR (r=-0.703, r=-0.638, P ＜ 0.05) and NE (r=-0.781, r=-0.781, P＜0.05). The STAI score was not correlated with pain threshold and pain tolerance threshold (P ＞ 0.05) .Conclusion Preoperative pain tolerance threshold is negatively correlated with the intensity of stress reaction induced by endotracheal intubation and skin incision, but there is no correlation between pain threshold and the intensity of stress reaction.

Persistent infection of hepatitis C virus (HCV) remains as a worldwide threat to public health,which involves a complex interaction between virus- and host related factors.HCV is classified as six genotypes and many subtypes according to the sequence heterogenecity.HCV genotype should be determined prior to treatment initiation since it plays a key role in selection of therapeutic regimen for chronic hepatitis C.Development of the antiviral treatment with protease inhibitor in combination with pegylated IFN-α and ribavirin requires the accurate determination of subtypes,e.g. 1a and 1b,as well.Genotyping methods based onsequenceanalysis, reversehybridizationorreal-timePCRhavebeendevelopedand evaluated.Some issues,however,should be settled to standardize the utility and result interpretation of these methods.More recently,host genotypes of IL28B have been found to be closely associated with HCV spontaneous clearance and the response to antiviral therapy.Moreover,polymorphisms in inosine triphosphate pyrophosphatase gene affect ribavirin-induced anemia.Therefore, host genotyping will be beneficial in predicting the outcome of chronic hepatitis C and monitoring the drug-induced adverse events.

Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of miR-96-5p in primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) at early recurrence after radical surgery. Methods 61 HCC eryopreservation tissue samples from the liver carcinoma specimens data obtained after radical surgery and banked in our hospital were divided into 2 groups: early recurrence group (33 cases) and non-early recurrence group (28 cases). Aquantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was performed to detect the expression of miR-96-5p. Results Compared with the non-early recurrence group , the expression of miR-96-5p was observably down-regulated [(0.634 ± 0.783) vs (5.182 ± 11.321), P = 0.043]. The expression of miR-96-5p was correlated to tumor diameter, early recurrence and vascular invasion (P<0.05). Conclusions miR-96-5p are significantly related to early liver cancer recurrence and metastasis. miR-96-5p may be a molecular marker of HCC at early recurrence as well as a target for targeted therapy of liver cancer in future.
