OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the economic burden of chronic hepatitis B(CHB)and its complications, and to e-valuate the benefits of treatment with interferon-?.METHODS:The components of the economic burden of disease included direct medical costs and non-medical costs as well as indirect economic loss per patient-year in patients with chronic hepatitis B virus infections, including chronic hepatitis B,compensated and decompensated cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma.Net cost savings due to treatment of CHB with interferon-?were estimated using clinical data from2therapeutic schemes used in hospital.RESULTS:For the patients at different stages of hepatopathy, the direct medical cost and economic burden per year were different:9000yuan,11362yuan(CHB);13865yuan,19412yuan(compensated cirehosis);25678yuan,36979yuan(decompensated cirrhosis);26501yuan,40264yuan(liver cancer),Compared with conrentional therapy against CHB,the direct medical cost and total cost were reduced following4months treatment of interferon-?after5-year follow-up.The reduced amounts were831yuan,2038yuan per person, respectively. The surrival rate rised by2.8%.CONCLUSION:CHB infections create a heavy economic burden on the society,as well as patients and their families. We have seen the potential cost-savings due to treatment with interferon-?.

Objective To investigate the effect of xenon intervention on delayed neuropsychologic sequelae (DNS)in acute carbon monoxide(CO)poisoning.Method Adult Wistar rats were randomly divided into sustained group, early intervention group, and control group.CO(150 ml/kg)was infused by intraperitoneal injection to produce DNS model. In sustained intervention group(S-group),xenon(150 ml/kg/d)was infilsed by intraperitoneal injection for 2 weeks;in control group(C-group),xenon was replaced by equal volume air;and in early intervention group(E-tvoup),xenon(150 ml/kg/d)was,employed in the first 3 days and air(150 ml/kg/d)was substituted for xenon in the following days until 2 weeks after CO poisoning.Morris maze test was used to evaluate the intelligence of rats. The long-term potentiation(LTP)of hippocampus Was detected by neuroelectricity recording. The apoptosis rates in brain was detected by TUNEL staining. The data were expressed as(x±s)and analyzed with student's test and analysis of variance.A P value less than 0.05 indicated statisfical significance. Results After exposure to CO,poisoned rats showed intelligence decline, demyeliation ofwater matler and cell apoptosis increased, which were consistent with DNS.In S-group and E-group,the rates of DNS and apoptosis were significantly lower than those in C-group,whereas the rote of LTP in S-group and E-group Was significantly higher than those in C-group.Conclusions Early xenon intervention can effectively decrease the rates of DNS occurred after acute CO poisoning.

Objective To establish a novel method to determine the absolute content of quercetin by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (qNMR).Methods DMSO-d6 was employed as solvent, and maleic acid as an internal standard.Proton signal peaks at δ7.50-7.58 and δ6.26 of maleic acid were served as quantification peaks. The content of quercetin is determined with qNMR in comparison with the results obtained by mass balance method. Results Linear regression of quantitative peak areas ratio (As/Ar) of quercetin-maleic acid vs mass ratio (ms/mr) yielded a correlation coefficient of 0.999 3 and a regression equation ofy =2.963 x + 0.134 1.The contents of three batches quercetin were 85.20%,84.93%,and 85.27%,the average was 85.13% and its RSD was 0.21%.The results were generally consistent with that of mass balance methods. Conclusion This method was easy and simple to handle, and the analysis results were accurate. It could be the complementary for the mass balance method.

Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 2005;0(11):-
OBJECTIVE To investigate the ?-lactamases in Klebsiella pneumoniae strains isolated from the elderly patients.METHODS We had an observation on 20 strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae about 15 kinds of ?-lactamase gene test(blaTEM,blaSHV,blaLEN,laOKP,blaCTX-M-1 group,blaCTX-M-2 group,blaCTX-M-9 group,blaOXA-1 group,blaOXA-2 group,blaOXA-10 group, blaGES,blaPER,blaVEB,blaDHA,and blaACT-1).RESULTS Six kinds of ?-lactamase genes had been found out from these 20 strains of K.pneumoniae,namely,blaTEM,blaSHV,blaCTX-M-1 group,blaCTX-M-9 group,blaOXA-1 group, and blaDHA.Their positives were 95%,30%,50%,5%,5% and 15%.Among these 20 strains of K.pneumoniae, there were 19 ones of K.pneumoniae which at least contained 1 kind of ?-lactamase genes.Fifteen strains of K.pneumoniae were found containing more than 2 kinds of ?-lactamase genes,at the same time. Some were even tested out having 4 kinds of ?-lactamase genes.CONCLUSIONS The resistance of ?-lactamase antibiotics of these 20 strains of K.pneumoniae has a close relative to the number of ?-lactamase.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2014;28(8):534-537
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the postoperative application of nasopharyngeal airway (NPA) in rhinogenous obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) patients, so that to observe the parameters including vital signs of the patients and evaluatethe value of clinical application and reliability of NPA.
METHOD:
A total of 216 patients diagnosed as rhinogenous OSAHS were randomly assigned to experimental group (setting NPA, 112 cases) and control group (not setting NPA, 104 cases) according to whether NPA was placed in the nasal cavity postoperatively. ECG, oxygen saturation and hemodynamics were monitored for 24 h postoperatively. The pharyngeal pain and discomfort, low oxygen saturation and hemodynamics were compared between these two groups. The subjective assessment and clinical symptoms were compared between the two groups using visual analogue scale (VAS).
RESULT:
The experimental group showed better relief of nasal obstruction, nasal pain, headache, dry pharynx, insomnia and pain while taking out nasal packing compared with control group, where the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.01). In the experimental group, the level of LSa2O2 (P < 0.05), HR (P < 0.01), SBP (P < 0.05), DBP (P < 0.01), MAP (P < 0.01) and RPP (P < 0.01) was significantly lower than in the control group.
CONCLUSION
The postoperative application of nasopharyngeal airway in rhinogenous OSAHS patients could help to keep nasal patency and avoid the upper airway obstruction, which exhibited good safety and compliance. The nasopharyngeal airway can reduce patients' discomfort and improve hyoxemia, ensuring hemodynamic stability.
