BACKGROUND:Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s are likely to repair renal injury by differentiating into renal parenchymal cel s. OBJECTIVE:To explore the effect and mechanism of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s in the renal repair after mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis. METHODS:Thirty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomized into normal group, model group and treatment group (n=10 per group). Model group and treatment group were treated with tail vein injection of mouse anti-rat monoclonal antibody Thy1.1 to prepare mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis models. One week after modeling, rats in the treatment group were given 2×106 bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s via the tail vein, and rats in the other two groups were given the same volume of normal saline. Two weeks after transplantation, urinary protein, urea nitrogen, creatinine levels were detected;hematoxylin-eosin staining was used for observing pathological changes of the renal tissue under microscope;and the expression of transforming growth factor beta 1 was detected by immunohistochemistry method. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The levels of urinary protein, urea nitrogen and creatinine as wel as the expression of transforming growth factor beta 1 in the renal tissue arranged in descending order were listed as fol ows:model group>treatment group>control group, and there were significant differences among three groups (P<0.05). In the model group, diffuse glomerular hyperplasia was observed with the presence of increased extracel ular matrix, partial glomerular sclerosis, and interstitial infiltration of inflammatory cel s;in the treatment group, glomerular hyperplasia, mesangial proliferation and inflammatory cel infiltration were al mitigated compared with the model group. Therefore, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel transplantation may contribute to renal repair after mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis, by inhibiting overexpression of transforming growth factor beta 1 in the kidney.

A three-dimensional finite element model of premaxillary bone and anterior teeth was established with ANSYS 13.0. The anterior teeth were fixed with strong stainless labial archwire and lingual frame. In the horizontal loading experiments, a horizontal retraction force of 1.5 N was applied bilaterally to the segment through hooks at the same height between 7 and 21 mm from the incisal edge of central incisor; in vertical loading experiments, a vertical intrusion force of 1.5 N was applied at the midline of lingual frame with distance between 4 and 16 mm from the incisal edge of central incisor. After loading, solution was done and displacement and maximum principle stress were calculated. After horizontal loading, lingual displacement and stress in periodontal membrane (PDM) was most homogeneous when the traction force was 14 mm from the edge of central incisor; after vertical loading, intrusive displacement and stress in PDM were most homogeneous when the traction force was 12 mm from the incisal edge of central incisor. The results of this study suggested that the location of center of resistance (CRe) of six maxillary anterior teeth is about 14 mm gingivally and 12 mm lingually to incisal edge of central incisor. The location can provide evidence for theoretical and clinical study in orthodontics.

Objective To study the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in cervical car-cinoma and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN),and to elucidate its relation with the genesis, infiltration, metas-tasis and prognosis of cervical carcinoma. Methods EGFR was determined by means of S-P immunohistochemistry in tissue of 100 cases of cervical carcinoma,60 cases of CIN and 40 cases of controls. Results The overexpression rates of EGFR were 0% (0/40), 51.67% (31/60),78.00% (78/100), respectively in normal cervical epithelium, CIN and cervical tumor tissues. The overexpression rate of EGFR was significantly higher in cervical tumor tissue than in control group(P<0.01). The overexpression of EGFR didn't demonstrate significant association with clinical staging, tumor size, pathological type, differentiation, cervical invasion depth, cervical canal invasion, lymphnode me-tastasis or the prognosis of cervical neoplasm (P>0.05). Conclusion Overexpression of EGFR is worsened with the severity of cervical lesion, suggesting that overexpression of EGFR is correlated with the genesis of cervical neo-plasms,which may be a valuable biological indicator of cervical carcinoma, but is not correlated with clinical patho-logical features and prognosis of cervical carcinoma.
