Objective To observe the early clinical outcome of the lumbar spondylolisthesis treated with decompressive laminetomy, intertransverse process arthrodesis with bone grafting, interbody fusion cage and solid transpedicle SOCON instrumentation. Methods From December 1997 to December 1999, 38 cases of lumbar spondylolisthesis were treated with decompression for spine canal stenosis. And intertransverse process arthrodesis was done by means of bone chip grafting obtained from the iliac crest, or the interbody fusion cage and the SOCON system. According to Meyerding classfication of lumbar spondylolisthesis, 32 cases were classified as degree 1, 6 cases as degree 2. The levels of lumbar spondylolisthesis was between L 4 and L5 in 29 patients and between L 5 and S 1 in 9 cases. Results The patients were followed up from 14 to 26 months with an average of 18.2 months. The results showed that the pre operative clinical symptoms disappeared completely in 31 of 38 patients. Pain relief was seen in 81.6%. 32 cases with degree 1 and 4 of 6 cases with degree 2 obtained the complete reduction of the slide intervertebral body. Anatomical reduction rate was 94.7%. The other 2 cases of the degree 2 patients obtained 90% of reduction. No infection or neurologic complication occurred in this series. Conclusion Treatment of lumbar spondylolisthesis with SOCON system has satisfactory reduction rate and excellent clinical results.

Objective To collect data and analyze the current status and prevalence changes of Crohn's disease (CD) in mainland China in recent decades. Methods A computer-based literature search was previously performed by using 50-year (1950 to 2002) of records of CD from the Chinese Database of Biology and Medicine (CBM) (1979 to 2002) and a manual year-by-year search of the literature ( 1950 to 1978). Using similar method, descriptive epidemiological data from 2003 to 2007 were collected, analyzed and compared with previous research. Results Four hundred and seventeen relevant papers during 2003 and 2007 were collected and 62 papers were eligible for inclusion. Within 62 papers, a total of 2149 cases with CD from 2003 to 2007 have been reported nationwide, comprising 1288 male and 861 female patients, result (ie,1526 cases from 1950-2002). There were no obvious changes in incidence age (younger and middle age were main components) and sex ratio ( number of male was still larger than that of female). The extrapolated CD incidence and prevalence rates were 1.21/100 000 person ? year and 2.29/100 000, respectively, which were higher than that of year 1950-2002, 0.28/100 000 person ? year and 1.38/ 100 000, respectively. Conclusions The incidence and prevalence rates of CD have been increasing rapidly, but these rates are still lower than those in Western world.

Objective To summarize our experience on the treatment for severe vascular injuries in the operation of great saphenous varicose vein. Methods The clinical data of 4 cases (5 lower limbs) from December 2004 to April 2009 of severe vascular injuries were retrospectively analyzed. For the lower limbs in which from the end of femoral artery to the upper part of posterior tibial artery were stripped, reconstruction operation using blood vessel prothesis was performed, above knee amputation was performed because of limb gangrene. For three limbs in which 10 cm to 15 cm superficial femoral artery were stripped, reconstruction operation using autologous saphenous vein were performed, above knee amputation was performed for one limb 5 days after the operation. For the limb in which 2 cm superficial femoral vein were cut, reconstruction operation using autologous saphenous vein were performed. Results No cases died perioperatively, for four limbs of injuried artery, ampution were performed for two limbs(50% ) ;two limbs (50%) were saved. The patient of injuried superficial femoral vein recovered. Conclusions Severe vascular injuries can be prevented and its incidence reduced by improving the awareness for iatrogenic vascular injuries, accurate operation; once the vascular injury occurred, prompt and rational measures must be adopted.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2004;21(6):1003-1005
The performance and the characteristics of various sensors are analyzed to meet the requirement of measuring the bone force-electromechanical potentials. The strain sensor that is suitable small signal and bone force-electromechanical potential measure is developed and the curved structural form of the strain sensor is chosen. The strain sensor has the advantage of small volume, large linear range, convenient installation and high sensitivity. The relationship between the strain and force-electromechanical potential of bone specimen is determined in the experiment on the bone of femur and bone of teeth using this type of sensor which provides the valuable data for clinical use.

9.Application of algebraic reconstruction technique of multi-source tomosynthesis in dynamic reconstruction.
Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2011;35(4):250-262
To reduce the motion artifacts, a new scanning configuration is proposed for tomosynthesis in dynamic reconstruction. In this new configuration, multiple x-ray sources are uniformly distributed on the circular scanning trajectory and moving simultaneously. Numerical experiments are performed using two dynamic digital phantoms and algebraic reconstruction technique. The reconstruction images of single-source tomosynthesis and multi-source tomosynthesis are compared and evaluated. The results show that multi-source tomosynthesis could reduce artifacts effectively, thus improving image quality. The advantages of multi-source tomosynthesis in dynamic reconstruction are important to cardiac imaging and respiratory imaging.
