Objective To investigate the effect of modified Taohe Chengqi Decoction(TCD)and its separated prescriptions on tissue plasminogen activator(tPA)and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1(PAI-1)content in human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVEC)with diabetic damage. Methods Purified HUVEC were divided into 10 groups: normal group, model group, rosiglitazone group,high-,middle-and low-dose modified TCD groups,blood-activating prescription group,heat-clearing and purgation prescription group,Qi-strengthening and yin-nourishing group, and TCD group. The serum containing herbal medicine was prepared through seropharmacological method, and was used for co-culture of HUVEC with high glucose and high insulin in vitro. The tPA and PAI contents in the HUVEC culture of different groups were detected. Results The content of tPA was increased in blood-activating prescription group and rosiglitazone group(P0.05).The PAI-1 content in the model group was higher than that in the normal group(P0.05).Conclusion The effect of modified TCD on improving the function of endothelial cells is probably related to the regulatory effect of blood-activating,heat-clearing and purgation herbs on PAI-1.

Objective To enhance the standardization of surgical operations, shorten the learning curve, and reduce surgical complications by summarizing common errors and proposing solutions for beginners during pre-study of cavity construction in non-inflatable axillary approach laparoscopic thyroid surgery. Methods A retrospective analysis was made on 210 patients who underwent noninflatable axillary approach luminal thyroid surgery at the Department of Head and Neck Surgery,Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital, between January 2022 and June 2023.Among them,150 patients were luminalized by the practitioners in the practice group, while 60 patients were luminalized by the practitioners in the skilled group. The occurrence of nine common errors during cavity construction, such as supraclavicular nerve injury and scapulohumeral muscle injury, was assessed and compared between the two groups. Results There was no statistically significant difference in age, gender, tumor diameter, tumor location or pathology type between the two groups(P>0.05).The staff in the practice group had a significant difference in supraclavicular cutaneous nerve injury(19.33%vs.3.33%),scapulohumeral muscle injury or disarticulation(16.00%vs.0),anterior cervical band of free excess(24.00%vs.3.33%),pectoralis major muscle and supraclavicular fascia injury(16.00%vs.5.00%),external jugular vein and genuine branch injury(8.00%vs.0),excessive freeing of the sternoclavicular joint(7.33%vs.0),and incorrect entry of the sternocleidomastoid muscle gap(8.67%vs.0)were significantly higher in incidence than the employees in the skilled group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference between employees in the practice group and those in the skilled group in terms of injury to the internal jugular vein and its geniculate branches(4.00%vs.0),and incorrect entry of the anterior cervical strap muscles into the hierarchy(2.00%vs.0)(P>0.05).Conclusion The incidence of damage to the surrounding tissue was significantly higher in the novice group than in the expert group during endoscopic thyroid surgery for space construction.A solid anatomical foundation and proficient endoscopic surgical technique serve as fundamental prerequisites for achieving a successful space system construction.By summarizing common challenges and providing corresponding solutions encountered during endoscopic thyroid surgery, this study further enhances and refines the learning system for total endoscopic thyroid procedures.

Objective To understand the prevalence and risk factors of hyperuricemia in electronics factory workers in Wuhan, and to provide evidence for the health protection of electronics factory workers. Methods A total of 1 415 employees in an electronics factory in Wuhan were selected as the research subjects, and the physical examination and determination of various biochemical indicators, as well as questionnaire survey were carried out. Results The detection rate of hyperuricemia among workers in the electronics factory in Wuhan was 32.43%, with 36.33% for men and 14.11% for women, and the difference was statistically significant ( χ2=46.077,P<0.001). The detection rate of hyperuricemia was the highest (33.77%) among those with university or college education, followed by graduate students and above (31.50%). Compared with subjects with good lifestyle habits, people with drinking habits had higher hyperuricemia detection rate (49.38%), and the difference was statistically significant (P =0.001). The detection rates of hyperuricemia in those with central obesity and elevated alanine aminotransferase were 48.23% and 61.29%, respectively, which were significantly higher than those in the subjects without the above diseases (26.91% and 27.21%, respectively), and the differences were statistically significant (P <0.001). Obese people had the highest detection rate of hyperuricemia (66.95%), followed by overweight people (43.75%), and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.001). Multivariate logistic analysis showed that alcohol drinking (OR=1.836, 95% CI=1.139-2.961, P =0.013) and body mass index ≥ 24 kg/m2 (OR=2.175, 95% CI=1.686 -2.806, P <0.001) were risk factors for hyperuricemia in electronic factory workers. Elevated alanine aminotransferase (ALT) was significantly correlated with hyperuricemia (OR=2.964, 95%CI=2.146-4.095 , P <0.001). Female gender was a protective factor for hyperuricemia in workers in the electronics factory (OR=0.441, 95%CI=0.297-0.653 , P <0.001). Conclusion The detection rate of hyperuricemia among workers in an electronics factory in Wuhan is high, and the detection rate of hyperuricemia in men is higher than that in women. Alcohol consumption, overweight and obesity will increase the risk of hyperuricemia. Elevated ALT is associated with hyperuricemia. Maintaining an ideal body mass index and establishing a good lifestyle play an important role in preventing hyperuricemia.

Background Prolonged awkward postures during occupational activities can lead to excessive musculoskeletal load on the wrist of workers and symptoms such as wrist pain or discomfort. Objective To survey the prevalence of wrist pain among workers in 10 key industries and analyze its correlation with wrist working postures. Methods By using stratified cluster sampling method, workers from 10 key industries, such as footwear manufacturing industry, shipbuilding manufacturing industry, and automobile manufacturing industry, were selected from seven regions in North China, East China, Central China, South China, Southwest China, Northwest China, and Northeast China. The demographic information, wrist working postures, pain in wrist of the workers were collected through a cross-sectional survey. Pearson χ2 test was used to compare prevalence by selected factors, trend χ2 test for between group comparison, and unconditional logistic regression models for the association of wrist working postures with wrist pain. Results There were 64052 workers enrolled in this survey, and 56286 provided valid questionnaires (the effective rate was 87.8%). According to the survey, the prevalence of wrist pain was 23.3% (13112/56286), and the industries with higher prevalences were footwear manufacturing (27.1%, 1927/7106), automobile manufacturing (24.9%, 5378/21560), and shipbuilding and related equipment manufacturing (24.4%, 850/3488) industries. Finger pinching (OR=2.09, 95%CI: 1.95-2.24), frequent wrist bending (OR=2.03, 95%CI: 1.92-2.15), fixed wrist bending (OR=1.77, 95%CI: 1.69-1.85), wrist on hard edge (OR=1.34, 95%CI: 1.28-1.40), and arms over shoulders (OR=1.11, 95%CI: 1.05-1.17) increased the risk of reporting wrist pain. Conclusion Awkward postures are related to wrist pain among workers in selected 10 key industries. The related factors are wrist on hard edge, frequent wrist bending, finger pinching, fixed wrist bending, and arms over shoulders.
