Objective To explore the effect of atorvastatin on postoperative complications after the burr hole drainage of chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH). Methods The clinical data of 172 CSDH patients who had underwent the burr hole drainage were retrospectively analyzed. Among them 82 patients were given atorvastatin (atorvastatin group), and 90 patients were not given atorvastatin (control group). The postoperative complications were compared between 2 groups. Results All patients were followed up for 6 months. The total incidence of postoperative complications in control group was significantly higher than that in atorvastatin group:47.78%(43/90) vs. 31.71%(26/82), and the recurrent rate of subdural hematoma and incidence of subdural effusion in control group were significantly higher than those in atorvastatin group: 22.22% (20/90) vs. 8.54% (7/82) and 28.89% (26/90) vs. 12.20%(10/82). There were statistical differences (P<0.05). There were no statistical difference in the incidences of pneumocephalus, acute epidural/subdural hematoma and brain damage induced by drainage tube (P>0.05). Conclusions Atorvastatin can improve the prognosis of CSDH patients, especially in reducing the incidence of recurrent subdural hematoms and subdural effusion.

OBJECTIVE:To provide new identification method for processed medicinal material Chinese polyphaga(Eupolyph-aga sinensis,Steleophaga plancyi) and their adulterants by establishing molecular identification method based on Cytb genes. METHODS:The total DNA of Chinese polyphaga and their adulterants was extracted using modified saturation sodium chloride method. The Cytb genes of all samples were amplified with PCR using general primers REVCB2H and REVCBJ. The phylogenetic tree of all samples was constructed with Neighbor-Joining(NJ)method using MEGA 5.1 software. The sequences of the Cytb gene of all sampled were compared by using DNAMAN sofetware. The difference between genuine product and their adulterants were analyzed,and the specific primers Esin-F and Esin-R were designed for molecular identification in different regions. RESULTS:DNA extracted from processed medicinal insects was successful to amplify Cytb gene segments. The phylogenetic tree of all sam-ples was consistent with their genetic relationship. A fragment was amplified only from genuine product but not from other adulter-ants with the designed specific primers Esin-F and Esin-R. CONCLUSIONS:DNA extraction method from processed Chinese polyphaga and their adulterants have been established. Designed specific primers are highly specific to genuine product Chinese polyphaga,and can be used for the identification of Chinese polyphaga and their adulterants.

This article is to report an ultratnicro-quantitative method to determine the tissue content of NAD+. The cycling mixture of nitrotetrazolium blue chloride, phenagene methosulfate, lactate and lactic dehydrogenase is used. The procedure of this assay is very simple and easy to perform. It is sensitive enough to detect as little an amount as 1?10-11 mole per ml of NAD+.

Objective To investigate the inhibitory effects of IL-18 gene on HCC growth in vivo. MethodsThe recombinant adenovirus vector containing IL-18 gene was constructed and cotransfected into 293 cells together with EcoT22 I-digested Ad5 DNA-TPC, the recombinant adenoviruses were generated, and injected into a rat model bearing HCC. Results The recombinant adenovirus vector containing IL-18 gene inhibited the proliferation of HCC cell line CBRH 3. Objective　To study the scan technique that can completely demonstrate the structures of middle-inner ear.Methods　Ninety volunteers underwent 30° axial and 105° coronal HRCT scan.The manifestations of the ministructures of middle-inner ear were observed and their demonstration rate was calculated.The demonstration of different structures of middle-inner ear was evaluated and compared on HRCT.Results　(1)The scan planes of 30° axial and 105° coronal were correspondent to some structures of middle-inner ear and could completely demonstrate them.(2)30° axial and 105° coronal HRCT scan had their own advantages respectively in demonstrating the structures of middle-inner ear.Conclusion　The technique of 30° axial and 105° coronal HRCT scan of middle-inner ear is useful in demonstrating the structures,including the nerve,joint,ligament etc and the relationship among them.

Objective To summarize that the distant interval metastasis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) patients who have been examined by 18F-FDG PET/CT and analysis the diagnostic efficacy of doctors using PET/CT device.Methods 75 patients were divided into three groups including primary patients without any treatment and patients in treating and patients after radiotherapied.The distant interval metastasis sits,incidence and their difference were analyzed.We adopt five grades to diagnose distant interval metastasis of NPC.And we choose the difference grade as cut off point to draw ROC curve and then decide the best diagnostic cut off point.Result There are 22patients in the first group and 2patients in the second group and 51patients in the third group in all 75paients.The incidence of distant interval metastasis in the first group is 59.1% and third 68.6% and there are statistical significance between groups(P=0.0001).The most frequent sites of distant interval metastasis is the distant interval lymph nodes(38.67%) and the second is skeleton(36%) and the third is liver(25.33%).ROC curve indicate that third one is the best cut off point because of doctors using PET/CT device can acquire the optimal sensitivity(86.36%)and specificity(88.24%) and accuracy(76.8%).Conclusion The incidence of distant interval metastasis is higher and the most frequent part is distant interval lymph nodes.And the doctors using PET/CT device diagnose the distant interval metastasis of NPC efficacy is higher.

Objective To explore the clinical curative effect and complications of digital three-dimensional molding of titanium mesh for repairing skull defect. Methods The clinical data of 42 patients having underwent repairing skull defect with three-dimensional molding of titanium mesh were retrospectively analyzed. Results The average operation time was about 2 h, and 42 patients were operated successfully. The bilateral skull was symmetry and the appearance was good. In 42 patients, subcutaneous dropsy occurred in 1 case, epilepsy occurred in 3 cases, and intracranial bleeding again surgery occurred in 1 case. Patients were satisfied with the results of cranioplasty. Conclusions Repairing skull with digital three-dimensional molding of titanium mesh is simple, with shorter operation time, lower operation risk, and lower postoperative complication, and the clinical curative effect is satisfactory.

Objective To synthesize podo-and epipodo-podophyllotoxin labeled with 11C and investigate their biodistribution in mice bearing EMT6 tumor by microPET.Methods 11 C-podo-or epipodopodophyllotoxin was synthesized by 11 C-CH3-Triflate mixed with 4'-methyl-demethmyl-podophyllotoxin (podo-and epipodo-) and purified using HPLC.The radiochemical purity (RCP) was analyzed by HPLC.Thirty mice bearing EMT6 tumor were divided into 2 groups and injected with 3.7 MBq 11C-podo-or epipodo-podophyllotoxin.The biodistribution of 11C-podo-or epipodo-podophyllotoxin was evaluated with microPET.The ID％/g was calculated.Paired t test was used to analyze the data.Results The yields of 11C-podo-and epipodo-podophyllotoxin were both ＞90％.The RCP was ＞99％.The biodistribution of 11C-podo-and epipodo-podophyllotoxin was similar with slow blood clearance and high uptake in abdomen.The tumor uptake of 11C-epipodophyllotoxin and 11C-podophyllotoxin at 30 min was (3.63±0.98) ％ID/g and (3.16±0.27) ％ID/g,respectively.The uptake ratio of tumor to blood and to muscle was 0.68 vs 0.62 and 1.52 vs 1.22,respectively.There was no significant difference between the tumor uptake of the two agents (t=0.47,P＞0.05).The result of microPET imaging was consistent with that of mice experiment.Conclusion 11C-podophyllotoxin has limited clinical value for tumor imaging.

Purpose:The efficacy of evaluation of changes of tumoral uptake of 3'-deoxy-3'-[~(18)F] fluorothymidine (FLT) was comparatively analyzed with that of ~(18)F-FDG at early stage after anticancer chemotherapy.Materials and Methods:Cells derived from human lung adenocarcinoma were incubated with cisplatin (CDDP),5-fluorouracil(5-FU),doxorubicin (Dox),for 1,4,24 and 72h.The doses(CD-DP: 67 μM; 5-FU 1,540 μM;MTX: 440 μM;) were determined corresponding to a estimated 10% - 95% proliferation inhibition.The cells were allowed to recover before FLT or FDG being added into the culture media for 60 min.Cell counts,viability,estimated by MTT method,were used to evaluate the cytotoxic effects of chemotherapy.Results: FLT uptake was increased significantly at 1 and 4 h after treatment with 5-FU( 145 ± 12%,150 ± 14%,P <0.01).decreased at 24 h and 72 h.In contrast,FLT accumulation was significantly reduced at cytostatic concentrations of CDDP at different time.The uptake of FDG did not change significantly at early time points after treatment,but decreased at 72 h.Conclusion: The tumor cell uptake of FLT revealed specific changes depending on the auti-cancer drug used at much earlier time than FDG after chemotherpay.
