BACKGROUND:Non-heart beating donors have become the most promising source of donor in recent years. Tofurther improve donor preservation solution, on the basis of conventional storage solution hypertonic citrate adenine solution, artificial cordyceps was added to prepare artificial cordyceps compound solution. It is hoped to reduce donor injury and to elevate donor quality by antioxidation. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the preservation effect of artificial cordyceps compound solution on isolated renal from non-heart-beating rats. METHODS: Medulas of 39 Sprague-Dawley rats were injured. Withoutin vitro respiratory and circulatory supports, non-heart-beating models were established and randomly divided into three groups: artificial cordyceps compound group (n=15), hypertonic citrate adenine solution group (n=15) and physiological saline group (n=9). The kidneys of rats in different groups were stored in artificial cordyceps compound solution, hypertonic citrate adenine solution and physiological saline at 4℃. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Compared with the hypertonic citrate adenine solution group, after 6 and 12 hours of preservation, morphological injury was mild, apoptotic index, malondialdehyde, Bax and Caspase-3 expression levels decreased, superoxide dismutase activity and Bcl-2 expression increased; after 24 hours, the degree of injury was similar, malondialdehyde content decreased, and superoxide dismutase activity increased in the artificial cordyceps compound group. These findings indicated that the preservation effect of artificial cordyceps compound on antioxidation and inhibition of apoptosis was better than that of hypertonic citrate adenine solution in non-hearting beating rats.

Objective To investigate the effects of different dosages of bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (BMSC) on lung fibrosis. Methods BMSCs with red fluorescence protein (RFP) from male FVB mice were cultured in vitro. Twenty-four female wild type FVB mice were randomly divided into four groups: normal group, model group, BMSC 1 group and BMSC 2 group (n = 6). Mouse pulmonary fibrosis models were induced by bleomycin via single intratracheal perfusion. Twenty-four h after model establishment, mice in BMSC 1 group and BMSC 2 group were injected with 1 × 10~6 BMSCs and 2 × 10~6 BMSCs, respectively through vena caudalis for each mouse. All the animals were sacrificed 21 d after model estalishment, and mouse lung tissue samples were obtained. The pathological changes were observed by light microscopy, the hydroxyproline ( Hyp) contents were measured by alkaline hydrolysis assay, the distribution of RFP( + ) BMSCs and quantitation of RFP were analysed by laser scanning confocal microscopy and immunohistochemistry, the expression of surfactant protein A (SP-A) was detected by immunohistochemistry, and the expression of transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) and platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) mRNA was detected by Real-time PCR. Results Compared with model group, the pulmonary fibrosis in BMSC 1 group was significantly alleviated, and that of BMSC 2 group became much more severe.A large number of RFP( +) BMSCs were found in fibrosis area of BMSC 2 group, which exhibited morphology similar to fibroblasts. As far as the expression of SP-A was concerned, normal group was higher than BMSC 1 group, BMSC 1 group was higher than BMSC 2 group and model group (P < 0. 05), while there was no significant difference between BMSC 2 group and model group (P >0. 05). Normal group, BMSC I group, model group and BMSC 2 group fell in the increase order by Hyp contents (P <0.01, P <0.05), and BMSC 2 group, BMSC 1 group, model group and normal group fell in the decrease order by expression of TCF-|$ and PDGF mRNA (P < 0.05). Conclusion Proper dose of BMSC has a favourable effect on bleomycin-induced lung fibrosis, while excessive dose of BMSC can aggravate the fibrosis.

Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery 2019;35(6):549-554
Objective:
To explore the clinical effect of the multi-point, multi-level suspension as well as fixation using midfacial soft-tissue spaces for midface lifting.
Methods:
A total of 65 patients with aging midface were admitted at the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from October 2017 to February 2019. Among them, 47 patients underwent primary blepharoplasty and midface lifting. Eighteen patients, including 5 patients with lower eyelid retraction or ectropion after blepharoplasty, underwent secondary midface lifting after blepharoplasty. The preseptal space was separated under orbicularis oculi muscle by palpebral margin incision. The orbicularis retaining ligament and the tear trough ligament were severed through preperiosteal plane. The preseptal space was connected with premaxillary space and prezygomatic space. The malar fat pad and superficial fascia were vertically suspended and fixed on the periosteum of infraorbital ridge by selected medial, middle and lateral points. The orbicularis oculi muscle was suspended and superolaterally fixed at lateral orbital periosteum. Therefore, the midface could be lifted by multi-point, multi-level suspension and fixation.
Results:
All incision healed in the first stage. Eyelid separation occurred to 1 patient, around 1 month after the operation. Tarsal strip lateral canthoplasty was performed for repair. Local protuberance of lateral lower eyelid occurred to another patient shortly after the operation, but improved after 3 months by lid massaging. No other complication was observed in the rest of the cases. All patients were followed up for 1 to 8 months and the results were satisfactory.
Conclusions
It is simple and practicable to utilize midfacial soft-tissue spaces. This method could benefit patient of less trauma, bleeding, and complications, and good clinical effect. It is a good choice for rejuvenation of the midface, especially for secondary midface rejuvenation after blepharoplasty, or complicated with lower eyelid retraction and ectropion.
