BACKGROUND: Changes in extracellular of chondrocyte can reflect influence of external force on temporomandibular joint and adaptability of body to external force. OBJECTIVE: To study the effect of cyclic tensile stress on main extracellular matrix of condylar chondrocyte.METHODS: The cyclic tensile stress was exposed to the third passage condylar chondrocyte for 0, 1, 6, 12 and 24 hours, respectively, using a Flexcell Strain Unit-5000T system (10% surface elongation, 6 cycles/min). After mechanical loading, total RNA was extracted from the cells harvested from Six-well BioFlex flexible cell Petri Dish, reverse transcribed, and reverse trabscription-PCR was performed to quantify mRNA levels for type Ⅱ collagen and aggrecan.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Compared with the control group (0 hour group), both type Ⅱ collagen and aggrecan mRNA expression was significantly increased after loading for 6 hours (P < 0.05), but began to decrease since 12 hours, and significantly decreased at 24 hours (P < 0.05). Results showed that cyclical tensile stress stimuli can affect the synthesis of main extracellular matrix of condylar cartilage, i.e. the synthesis was gradually enhanced with prolonged stimulation duration, but significantly inhibited in response to further stress stimuli.

Objective To compare the therapeutic effect of endovascular repair (EVAR) and open surgical repair(OSR) of abdominal aortic aneurysm in high-risk patients. Methods The clinical data of 55 patients from 1998 to 2008 with infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm who received surgical treatment were analyzed by using the customized probability index. The perioperative and short term advantages and disadvantages of OSR group (n=20) were compared with EVAR group (n=35). Results All patients in OSR group were followed up, 94% patients in EVAR group were followed up, the mean follow up time were 75 and 70 months respectively. (1) Compared to OSR group, the EVAR group had shorter operation time [(3.1±0.6) h vs (4.9±0.9) h, P<0.05], (2) EVAR group had shorter ICU and hospital stay after operation and less blood loss (P<0.01), (3) Compared to OSR group, the EVAR group had lower mortality within 30 d(2.86% vs 15%), (4)the EVAR group had lower peri-operative complications(17% vs 40%), (5) The main complications of EVAR were endoleak (8.57%), (6) The main complications of OSR was cadiovascular incidence(25%). Conclusions Endovascular treatment, indicated for AAA in high-risk patients, can cut down the perioperative incidence of cadiovascular events, mortality and complications. CPI is useful to estimate the perioperative incidence of cadiovascular events, mortality and complications, and can be used to guide the therapeutic method.

Objective To study the anatomical characteristics of ascending aortic and aortic arch in adult Chinese. Methods From Sep 2006 to Sep 2007, we retrospectivly reviewed 388 volunteers undergoing thoracic aorta CTA in our institution. We measured the diameter of ascending aorta, aortic arch, and branch vessels of aortic arch respectively in AW4.2 work station. CHESS statistical software was used to analyze data. Results The aortic diameter above coronary artery (CA) (D1), the level at origin of brachiocephalie trunk (BCT) ( D3 ), the halfway of the AA( D2 ), the level at origin of LCCA( D4 ) , the level at origin of LSA ( D5 ) and the level at distal origin of LSA ( D6 ) respectively are: ( 34 ± 5 ) mm; ( 33 ± 4) mm; ( 34 ± 5 ) mm; ( 30 ± 4) mm; ( 28 ± 3 ) mm; ( 26 ± 3 ) mm. The diameters of two level between the origin of BCT and RSA are ( 13. 1 ± 1.9) mm, ( 12. 8±2. 3) mm, respectively. The diameter of two level at LCCA is ( 8. 7 ± 1.5 )mm and ( 7. 9 ± 1. 0) mm respectively. The diameter of two level between the origin of LSA and L-vertebral arteryis (10.7±1.7) mm,(9.3±1.3) mm, respectively. Conclusion The data of the diameter and length of ascending aort and vasculature arising from the arch abtained by CT topography in Chinese volunteers are very useful for clinical practice.

Objective To evaluate aneurysm sac pressure monitoring during endovascular repair (EVAR)of abdominal aortic aneurysm. Methods From April 2006 to May 2007,12 patients with abdominal aorta aneurysm underwent endovascular aneurysm repair. The average max-diameter of the aneurysm WR8(5.83±0.95)cm.The sac pressure was monitored during the whole process of the operation. The correlation between the pressure and endoleaks and long-term outcomes was observed during follow-up.Results Before the stentgraft was delivered.sac pressure was equal to the systemic blood pressure in all the 12 cases. After the EVAR wag finished, the sac systolic pressure dropped by>40% in 11 cases, among which sac blood pressure bropped by ≥50% in 7 cases.sac pressure did not change in 1 case.In all the 12 cases, pulse pressure diminished by>30%,and>75%in 6 cages.During the follow-up,there were no endoleaks and death. In 5 Cases.with sac systolic pressure drop>50%,the max-diameter of the aneurysm decreased by 1.6~3.1 mm,while in one c88e,in which sac pressure had no change the postoperative maxdiameter of the aneurysm has increased by 3.2 nma. Conclusion Abdominal aorta aneurysm sac pressure monitoring during EVAR helps to predict the change of the sac pressure after EVAR,and to detect the endoleaks.

Objective:To master the iodine nutritional level of children aged 8-10 and pregnant women in non-iodine excess areas in Hebei Province, and provide scientific basis and targeted prevention and treatment strategies for prevention and treatment of iodine deficiency disorders. Methods:Iodine nutrition analysis was conducted in 162 counties (cities and districts, hereinafter referred to as counties) of Hebei Province in 2018. Each monitoring county was divided into 5 sampling areas according to east, west, south, north and middle locations. One township/street was randomly selected in each area, 1 primary school was selected in each township/street, and 40 non-boarding students aged 8-10 were selected from each primary school. In each monitoring county, 20 pregnant women were selected from each of the 5 townships/streets. Both children and pregnant women were collected samples for salt and urinary iodine (with a random urine sample) detection. The iodine content of salt was tested using the "General Test Method for Salt Industry-Determination of Iodine" (GB/T 13025.7-2012), and Sichuan salt and other fortified edible salt used the arbitration method. The urinary iodine content was tested using the "Arsenic-Cerium Catalytic Spectrophotometric Determination of Iodine in Urine" (WS/T 107-2006).Results:A total of 31 883 samples of edible salt were collected from children's homes in 162 counties, among which 28 539 were iodized salt, 26 456 were qualified iodized salt, the iodized salt coverage rate was 88.36% (after population standardization), and the qualified iodized salt consumption rate was 81.03% (after population standardization). A total of 31 883 urine samples were collected from children, with the median urinary iodine of 193.13 μg/L. There was one county with a median urinary iodine < 100 μg/L, and the median urinary iodine in 150 counties was 100-299 μg/L. A total of 15 572 salt samples of pregnant women were collected, among which the iodized salt samples were 14 260, the qualified iodized salt samples were 13 363, the iodized salt coverage rate was 90.10% (after population standardization), and the qualified iodized salt consumption rate was 83.54% (after population standardization). A total of 15 569 pregnant women were collected urine samples, the median urinary iodine was 164.86 μg/L, and the number of counties with a median urinary iodine < 150 μg/L was 67.Conclusions:Iodine nutrition of children and pregnant women is appropriate at the provincial level, but children and pregnant women in some counties are at risk of iodine deficiency. In the future, the prevention and treatment of iodine deficiency disorders should focus on the iodine nutrition monitoring of the special needs.

Objective To evaluate the risk of plague occurrence via surveying and analyzing indoor rat density and flea index in natural villages having previous plague experience. Methods During August to September 2007, 30 natural villages experiencing previous plague were selected based on the surveillance data, and then all households were coded with numbers and 20 households in each village were randomly selected via computer. Cages and sticky papers were set in 600 selected households to capture rats and fleas. Rat density, flea prevalence, flea index and median were estimated. Results One hundred thirty-three Rattus flavipectus and 33 Suncus murinus were caught and averaged rat density was 2.8 rats per one hundred cage. nights (166/6000), the median was 5 rats each village. One hundred and one mice infected fleas, flea prevalence on rats was 60.8% (101/166), 296 Xenopsylla cheopis and 48 Leptopsylla segnis were collected. Rat flea index was 2.1 fleas per rat (344/166). A total of 315 dissociated flea was caught, average dissociated flea index was 0.026 fleas per sticky paper (315/11888). The median was 5.5 dissociated fleas per village. Of dissociated fleas, Ctenocephalides felis felis (205) and Xenopsylla cheopis (103) accounted for 97.8% (308/315). The proportion for species of the rat flea and the dissociated flea was different(Fisher test: P < 0.01). The rat flea was significantly associated with the rat density(r = 0.68, P < 0.01), but the dissociated flea was significantly associated with neither the rat density(r = -yield than fried wheat batter(χ2 = 5.59, P < 0.05). Conclusions In these villages having previous plague experience of Lianghe County, Rattusflavipectus was dominant species of indoor rats, Xenopsylla cheopis and Ctenocephalides felis felis were dominant species of rat flea and dissociated flea, respectively. Mengsong, Bangdu, and Tangjiatun village had potential risk of plague emergence.
