The research status is reviewed on taxonomic position, ecology, biological active matter and artificial cultivation of Shiraia bambusicola. Following problems are presented: whether there are new species and host specificity of Shiraia bambusicola. Since the artificial cultivation of stroma of Shiraia bambusicola has not been success, Shiraia bambusicola is in situation of emerge of itself and perish of itself so that it is not beneficial to resource protection and continual utilization of this medicinal fungus. It is pointed out that molecular biology of Shiraia bambusicola should be further researched and technology of artificial cultivation of Shiraia bambusicola should be explored in order to exploit and usage of Shiraia bambusicola.

Objective Application of the second metatarpophalangeal joint by traction prolong trans- plant repair the defects in the metacarpophalangeal joint,reconstruct the function of it.Methods By means of the apparatus to prolong finger in advance,then transplant the second metatarpophalangeal joint to recon- struct metacarpophalangeal joint for seven cases of obsolete defects in the metacarpophalangeal joint.Results The average of finger prolong was 2.6 cm,consultation from 1 to 4 years.average 2.5 years,thai the trans- plant joints have all survived and osteal concrescence.Through the criterion Chinese Medical Association,good rate was 85.7%. Conclusion It' s a good method to repair obsolete defects in the metacarpophalangeal joint by transplant traction prolong of the second metatarpophalangeal joint.

OBJECTIVETo study the psychologic status and their influencing factors in congenital microtia patients and their families.

METHODSTotally one hundred and two congenital microtia patients (79 men, 23 women, mean age 13.62 +/- 7.2 years) were enrolled. The patients and their families answered the questionnaire written by ourselves to identify the psychosocial problems.

RESULTS(1) 23.5% patients were found to have severe psychosocial problems, such as lack of self-confidence, close and fear and so on. (2) With the growth of age, psychosocial problems of the patients were rated high (P < 0.05). (3) For patients who found their deformations early, psychosocial problems also were rated low. (4) For patients who found their deformations by themselves, psychosocial problems also were rated low. (5) The education and psychosocial impact for parents all affected patients deeply.

CONCLUSIONSTo prevent psychosocial problems, we should operate for patients as early as possible. And correct guidance is very important for youngsters.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate cardiotrophin-1(CT-1) expression in the ventricle and the effects of angiotensin II type I receptor antagonist (AT(1)RA) irbesartan on the ventricular remodeling in adriamycin myocardiopathy. METHODS: Thirty male SD rats were randomized into 2 groups: a control group (n=10) and a model group (n=20). The model group was administered adriamycin and 18 rats survived. And theses rats were randomized again into 2 groups. One was treated with irbesartan [50 mg/(kg x d), with stomach-tube], and the other received equal saline, so did the control group. After 12 weeks, the protein level of CT-1 was detected by immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: Ventricular CT-1 in the model control group and the treatment group was higher than that in the control group and the correlation analysis showed that ventricular CT-1 of the model control group was positively correlated with the left ventricular weight index, and CT-1 of the treatment group was lower than that of the model control group. CONCLUSION CT-1 was assumed to take part in the ventricular remodeling. The mechanism of irbesartan on the ventricular remodeling may be related to the downregulation of CT-1 expression.

Objective To explore the replantation methods of the amputated tisue mass of fingers. Methods Fifteen cases were replanted using the physiological blood circulation replantation and the no physi- ological blood circulation replantation.Results All eleven cases survived with the physiological blood circu- lation replantation,one case failure with no physiological blood circulation replantation.Postoperative follow up ranged from six months to two years,with an average of fifteen months,the function and appearance were satis- factory.According to Hand Surgery of Chinese Medical Association' s functional evaluation in digital replanta- tion,eleven cases were excellent and two cases were good,the excellent and good rates were up to 86.7%. Conclusion For the amputated tissue mass of fingers,the physiological blood circulation replantation is the best choose.

OBJECTIVE: Vitamin D and Toll-like receptor-4 (TLR-4) inhibition are involved in the protection of keratinocytes. The effects of combination of 1,25(OH) ₂D ₃ and TLR-4 inhibitor on the protection of keratinocytes against ultraviolet radiation B (UVB) irradiation remain unclear. This study was undertaken to explore the effects of combination of 1,25(OH) ₂D ₃ and TAK-242 (TLR-4 inhibitor) on the damage to HaCaT cells caused by UVB irradiation. METHODS: In vitro, HaCaT cells were treated with 1,25(OH) ₂D ₃ or/and TAK-242 prior to UVB irradiation at the intensity of 20 mJ/cm ², then the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), cell migration, apoptosis of cells, and the expression of oxidative stress, endoplasmic reticulum stress, and apoptosis related proteins were determined. RESULTS: Compared with the HaCaT cells treated with 1,25(OH) ₂D ₃ or TAK-242, the cells treated with both 1,25(OH) ₂D ₃ and TAK-242 showed, 1) significantly lower production of ROS ( P < 0.05); 2) significantly less apoptosis of HaCaT cells ( P < 0.05); 3) significantly lower expression of NF- κB, Caspase-8, Cyto-C, Caspase-3 ( P < 0.05). CONCLUSION The combination of 1,25(OH) ₂D ₃ and TAK-242 could produce a better protection for HaCaT cells via inhibiting the oxidative stress, endoplasmic reticulum stress and apoptosis than 1,25(OH) ₂D ₃ or TAK-242 alone.
