1.Study on the Symptomatic Characteristics of Chinese Medicine of 52 Patients with Pulmonary Hypertension

Objective To study the symptomatic characteristics distribution of Chinese medicine of patients with pulmonary hypertension.Methods Symptomatic information of 52 patients with pulmonary hypertension was collected to find the symptomatic characteristics of Chinese medicine,and analyse the correlation of symptom and pulmonary hypertension with different types and degrees.Results The proportion of TCM symptom of pulmonary hypertension from high to low were syndrome of strong Qi sinking(96.2%),syndrome of blood stasis(75.0%),syndrome of deficiency of lung Qi(42.3%),syndrome of deficiency of heart Qi(30.8%),syndrome of deficiency of spleen Qi(17.3%).Syndrome of blood stasis was the most closely related to the congenital cardiopathy(CC) with pulmonary hypertension.Syndrome of deficiency of heart Qi was the most closely related to the degree of pulmonary hypertension increased pressure.The next one was syndrome of deficiency of lung Qi.Conclusion Syndrome of strong Qi sinking,syndrome of blood stasis,syndrome of deficiency of heart Qi and syndrome of deficiency of lung Qi are the main syndromes of pulmonary hypertension.Syndrome of strong Qi sinking is the most closely related to the pulmonary hypertension.
2.Action of Acupuncture on Ventromedial Neucleus of Hypothalamus in the Rat of Obesity

Effects of acupuncture on spontaneous discharges of nerve cells in ventromedial neucleus of hypothalamus (VNH) and levels of monoamine neurotransmitters in rats of obesity were observed. Results indicated that levels of tyrosine (Tyr) and dopamine f DA) were decreased, and the levels of 5 -hydroxytryptamine (5 - HT) and 5 - hydroxyindole acetic acid (5 - HIAA) increased in VNH; The frequency of spontaneous discharges of nerve cells in VNH lowered significantly in the obesity group as compared with those in the normal group; When acupuncture attained effect of weight reduction, the frequency of spontaneous discharges of nerve cells in the VMH increased obviously; the levels of Tyr, DA, tryptamine , and 5 - HT/5 - HIAA increased, and 5 - HT level decreased in VMH tissue. It is suggested that the benign regulative action of acupuncture on VNH is possibly one of the crucial factors for acupuncture in reducing body weight.
3.Evaluation of ultrasonography in diagnosis of benign PH and malignant thyroid nodules by binary LogisticPHam

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of ultrasonography in diagnosis of benignPHand malignant thyroid nodules by binary Logistic regression model.Methods A retrospective analysis of 240 cases of thyroid nodules confirmed by pathology after operation excision was conducted.173 nodules were benign as control group,67 nodules were malignant as observation group.The ultrasonic features of thyroid nodules were collected.The factor had statistics significance by x2 test between the two groups were analyzed by binary Logistic regression.A logistic regression model was created.The ROC curve was drawn and the area under the curve was calculated.Results There were statistically significant differences among boundary,aspect ratio,shape,internal echo,calcification,acoustic halo,cervical lymphadenectasis between the control group and observation group(x2=45.392,7.590,30.039,24.168,37.406,6.893,16.078,all P<0.01).And after Logistic regression analysis,six variables that entered the regression equation were boundary(P=0.000,OR=8.437),aspect ratio(P=0.000,OR=12.816),microcalcification of the nodules(P=0.000,OR=8.893),shape(P=0.000,OR=8.791),internal echoes(P=0.001,OR=8.313)and cervical lymphadenectasis(P=0.001,OR=6.891).The accuracy of the model was 90.7%(223/246)in predicting malignant nodules in thyroid.The area under the ROC curve was(0.904±0.031).Conclusion The binary Logistic regression can be used to differentiate malignant and benign thyroid nodules,and make a more accurate judgment for the nodules in thyroid.
5.Solid pseudopapillary tumors of the pancreas: A review of 1180 patients reported in chinese literature

Objective To summarize and analyze data of solid pseudopapillary tumor of pancreas (SPTP) in China,and investigate its epidemiology,clinical features,diagnosis and treatment.Methods Retrieval of Chinese Medical Current Contents and China Biology Medicine disc by the key words of solid pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas,papillary cystic tumor of the pancreas,pancreatic papillary epithelial tumor,cystic solid tumor of pancreas and Frantz tumor were performed,and relevant literatures were included.Results A total of 1180 SPTP patients from 117 articles were involved.There were 1054 women and 126 men and the ratio of male to female was 1:8.37.The average age was 29 years old (range 9 ~83 years).Detailed clinical information was available for 1172 cases,and the main clinical manifestations included abdominal discomfort (n=526,44.88%),medical check-up (n=464,39.59%),abdominal mass (n=131,11.18%).Laboratory and imaging tests were non-specific.The tumors size was 1.3~ 30 cm with a mean value of 7.84 cm.Four handreds and seven (36.8%) cases were located in pancreatic head,96 (8.7%)were in pancreas neck and 587 (53.1%) were in the body and tail of pancreas.Eleven handreds and sixteen patients received treatment,and the resection rate was 99.2% (n =1107).Pathological examination showed that 628(57.0%) cases were benign and 306 (27.8%) were presented as malignant behavior,mainly as infiltrative growth and invasion of the surrounding organs,vessels.Nine handreds and seventy-seven cases were followed up (ranging from 1 month to 13 years),and re-occurrence or metastasis were detected in 42 cases (4.3%) and 24 patients died.Conclusions Solid pseudopapillary tumor of pancreas is a rare pancreatic tumor with low-grade malignant potential,and part of this tumor may present as malignant behavior and it primarily affects young females.No characteristics in clinical manifestations,laboratory and imaging tests are found.Pathological examination can confirm the diagnosis.Surgical resection is the therapy of choice and the prognosis is good.
6.Central Mechanism of Acupuncture at Baihui for Memory Impairment after Stroke: A Resting- state Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging Study

Objective To explore the central mechanism of acupuncture at Baihui (GV20) for memory impairment after stroke. Methods 32 stroke patients were randomized to receive acupuncture at Baihui (GV20) (as observation group) and acupuncture at Yanglingquan (GB34) (as control group) for 8 weeks. At the meantime, all participants received routine treatment including physical and occupational therapies. They were scanned with resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to find functional connectivity and assessed with Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS) before and after treatment. The results of WMS and functional connectivity were analyzed with Pearson's correlation. Results The memory scores and memory quotient improved significantly after treatment in the observation group (P<0.05). The functional connectivity significantly increased occurred in the left hippocampus to right inferior frontal gyrus, right middle frontal gyrus and left inferior frontal gyrus; and right hippocampus to left middle frontal gyrus, left superior frontal gyrus and left parietal lobe. Significant correlations were found between memory quotient and functional connectivity of hippocampus to frontal lobe and left parietal lobe in the observation group. There was no statistical significance in memory scores and memory quotient in the control group. The functional connectivity significantly decreased in left hippocampus to right middle occipital gyrus, and right hippocampus to right superior temporal gyrus and right posterior lobe of cerebellum. There was no statistical correlation between functional connectivity and results of WMS. Conclusion The acupuncture at Baihui can improves memory ability of stroke patients, which may associate with the increase of functional connectivity of hippocampus with frontal lobes and parietal lobes.
7.A comparison of 226 Hz and 1 000 Hz tympanometry in diagnosis of infants otitis media effusion.

OBJECTIVE:
To provide a clinical reference by comparing the conventional 226 Hz tympanometry with 1000 Hz tympanometry in two groups of young children with otitis media effusion evidenced by CT scan.
METHOD:
One hundred and seventy-seven young children (226 ears), from 1 to 60 months, with otitis media effusion were involved in this study. They were divided into six groups by age: 0-6 months group, 6-12 months group, 12-18 months group, 18-24 months group, 24-36 months group, 36-60 months group. They were tested with tympanometry of 2 probe-tones of 226 and 1 000 Hz. Type A tympanogram was defined as a normal middle ear function in 226 Hz and single-or double-peak in 1 000 Hz tympanometry. One hundred and fifty-eight normal young children (266 ears) were selected as control group. The results were analysed with Chi square test. Receiver operator characteristic (ROC) analysis was performed to evaluate the two methods.
RESULT:
In the young children with otitis media effusion, the detection rate of 226 Hz tympanogram in six groups was 21.1%, 35.2%, 46.9%, 42%, 62.5% and 68% respectively, while 94.7%, 98.1%, 96.9%, 91.2%, 95.8% and 88% respectively in 1 000 Hz tympanogram. In the young children with normal middle ear function, the detection rate of 226 Hz tympanogram in six groups was 95.1%, 88.6%, 85.1%, 93.3%, 88.5% and 93.5%, while 87.8%, 94.3%, 89.4%, 95.6%, 94.2% and 97.8% respectively in 1 000 Hz tympanogram. The detection rate was significantly different between 226 and 1 000 Hz tympanogram in the young children under 36-month old.
CONCLUSION
A single-or double-peak 1000 Hz tympanometric patterns as normal criteria was a simple way to evaluate young children s' middle ear function. 1 000 Hz tympanometry should be given priority to the children within 36-month old in detection middle ear function,the 226 and 1 000 Hz tympanometry should be done at the same time within 36-60 months old.

In view of the public academic papers of Professor LIU Zhicheng, his academic track is analyzed, including validating effect, exploring mechanism, improving efficacy, expanding disease variety, deepening mechanism, optimizing program and seeking breakthrough. On this basis, combined with the self-character of TCM, the potential path for the academic cultivation of young scholars is refined: focusing on clinical practice, confirming clinical efficacy, deepening mechanism exploration, improving clinical therapeutic effect, optimizing clinical program, extending clinical disease spectrum, inheriting, seeking, breaking through, innovating, expecting and topping over. It is believed that during the academic cultivation, the importance is to form the stable research direction and continuity, organize research team, absorb actively new knowledge and thoughts, and adopt multidisciplinary cross and coordination so as to achieve the greater success ultimately.

9.Effect of ionizing radiation on apoptosis of lung cancer H460 cells and its mechansim

Objective:To explore the effect of ionizing radiation on apoptosis of lung cancer H460 cells after ATRX was silenced by RNAi and its mechanism.Methods:The lentivirus expression vectors targeting ATRX were transfected into the 293T cells,and the lung cancer H460 cells were infected with lentivirus twice,and the ATRX silenced cell model was obtained after puromycin positive screening,then they were named as sh-ATRX1-H460,sh-ATRX2-H460,and sh-ATRX3-H460 cells;the sh-control-H460 cells were regarded as control cells.The cells were divided into sh-control-H460 group and sh-ATRX3-H460 group,accroding to the silencing results and were irradiated by 0,2 and 8 Gy X-rays.The expression levels of ATRX,poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1(PARP1),and caspase-3 proteins were measured by Western blotting method;the apoptotic rate was measured by flow cytometry and AnnexinⅤ-FITC/PI kits.Results:The lung cancer cell model of sh-ATRX3-H460 silenced by ATRX was obtained successfully.After 2 and 8 Gy X-ray irradiation,compared with before irradiation,the expression level of ATRX protein in sh-control-H460 group was increased,while there was no expression of ATRX protein in sh-control-H460 group;compared with before irradiation,the apoptotic rates of cells in two groups were increased(P<0.05 or P<0.01);the apoptotic rate in sh-ATRX3-H460 group was significantly higher than that in sh-control-H460 group after 8 Gy X-ray irradiation (P<0.01).The expressions of cleaved PARP1 in the cells in both two groups after 2 Gy and 8 Gy X-ray irradiation were increased and showed similar rule.The expression level of procaspase-3 protein in sh-control-H460 group had little change,and it was increased significantly in sh-ATRX3-H460 group after 8 Gy X-ray irradiation.Conclusion:ATRX silencing can be achived by RNAi,then the silencing could increase the apoptosis induced by irradiation and its mechanism may be related to the PARP1-caspase-3 pathway.
10.Impact of retinol binding protein 4 polymorphism on rosiglitazone response in Chinese Type 2 diabetic patients

Objective To explore the association between rs3758539G-803A and rs10882283 T-179G polymorphism of retinol binding protein 4 (RBP4) and rosiglitazone response in Chinese type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients.Methods A total of 472 Chinese T2DM patients and 198 healthy subjects were enrolled to identify G-803A and T-179G genotypes using a polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP ).assay.Forty-two T2DM patients with different G-803A or T-179G genotypes were selected to undergo a 12-week rosiglitazone treatment (4 mg/d).Serum fasting plasma glucose (FPG),postprandial plasma glucose (PPG),fasting serum insulin (FINS),glycated hemoglobin (HbAlc),postprandial serum insulin ( PINS),triglyceride (TG),low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol ( LDL-c),and high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-c) were determined before and after the rosiglitazone treatment.Results T2DM patients with RBP4 G-803A GG genotype showed lower TG and LDL-c concentrations compared with that in the GA +AA genotype subjects.T2DM patients with RBP4 T-179G TT genotype showed lower waist-to-hip ratio (WHR),FPG and FINS values compared with that in the TG + GG genotype individuals.Patients with GG genotype of RBP4 G-803A had an enhanced rosiglitazone efficacy on FPG and FINS compared with that in the GA + AA genotype group.Patients with RBP4 T179G TG + GG genotype showed an enhanced rosiglitazone efficacy on HbAlc level compared with that in the TT genotype group.Conclusion RBP4 G-803A and T-179G polymorphism might be associated with the development of T2DM and affect the therapeutic efficacy of rosignitazone in Chinese T2DM patients.
