It has been indicated that there are a large number of natural active compounds generating the radiosensitizing effect on tumor.According to diverse molecular mechanism,these compounds may enhance the radiotherapeutic efficacy via enhancing the radiosensitivity of tumor.Studying the radiosensitization mechanism and classifying the natural compounds with the potentiality of development into clinical radiosensitizers can provide certain ideas for further research and development of natural radiosensitizers.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the significance of clinical pharmacists providing pharmaceutical care for pregnant patients with asthma in respiratory department. METHODS:Clinical pharmacists participated in the analysis of 2 cases of pregnancy complicating with asthma and applied pharmaceutical suggestion and therapy plan as penicillin anti-infective thera-py,intravenous dripping of magnesium sulfate combined with doxofylline,albuterol aerosol treatment instead. RESULTS:The asthma symptom had been relieved significantly and then the patients were discharged from the hospital after clinical phar-macists disposed the symptom appropriately. CONCLUSIONS:The participation of clinical pharmacists in pharmaceutical care for pregnant patients with asthma in respiratory department. Can improve the prognosis effectively and guarantee the safety of drug use.

Objective To investigate the relation of DNA content and SPF to the clinicopathological characteristic in lung cancer.Methods Fresh specimens taken from 56 patients with lung cancer and 36 patients with non-malignant pulmonary lesions were measured for DNA index(DI),S-phase fraction(SPF) by using FACSCalibur 4200 flow cytometry.Results ① DNA index(DI) of lung cancer was 1.18?0.33,0.99?0.07 in lung cancer and non-malignant groups,respectively.The percentage of heteroploid was 78.6% in lung cancer,(5.6%) in non-malignant.DI and the positive rate of heteroploid were significantly higher in lung cancer groups than that in non-malignant group(P0.05);③ It was demonstrated that SPF was significant higher in lung cancer groups than that in non-malignant group. Objective To explore the protective effect and mechanism of ligustrazine against ischemia-reperfusion injury of retina from neonatal rats.Methods Thirty-two neonatal rats were randomly divided into normal,model,solvent control and ligustrazine treatment group.Experimental model of retinal ischemia-reperfusion injury was established by increasing intraocular pressure through intracameral infusion.In the ligustrazine treatment group,ligustrazine was given by intraperitoneal injecting before 30 min ischmia and after reperfusion 2 hours,10 mg/kg.In the solvent control group,the same voluminal solvent(isotonic Na chloride)was given by the same way before 30 min ischmia and after reperfusion 2 hours.The neonatal rats were executed by aeroembolism after reperfusion 6 hours.The content of malon dialdehyde(MDA) and the superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity were measured by spectrophotometer.Results 1.The content of MDA in model group was significantly higher than that in normal group(t=4.80 P0.05).The SOD activity in model group was significantly lower than that of normal group(t=4.58 P0.05).Conclusion Ligustrazine can protect experimental retinal from ischemia-reperfused injury by increasing SOD activity and decreasing the content of MDA in neonatal rats.

?With the deepening study of quercetin, some studies show that quercetin can protect lens, with pharmacological activities such as antioxidation and anti-apoptosis and so on. And they can delay the occurring and developing of cataract. The development and utilization of the quercetin will be expected to be a new means of prevention and treatment of cataract. The article takes in the research progress of that quercetin on the lens with antioxidation, inhibiting aldose reductase and anti- apoptosis and its mechanisms.

Objective To explore the feasibility of language sample analysis in assessment of language development in children in order to provide evidences for its clinical application. Methods The study population consisted of a cross-sectional sample of 50 preschool Putonghua-speaking children aged 4 to 6 years. The data on measurement of utterance length (MLU) and lexical diversity (D) were computed from 20 minutes' conversational language samples, and correlation analysis was conducted among MLU, D, age, Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI) and Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT). Splited sample analysis by comparing MLU of first one hundred utterances and MLU of last one hundred utterance, D of odd lexicals and D of even lexicals were conducted to test the validity of language sample indictors. Results MLU and D development of the preschool Putonghua-speaking children were positively related to age. MLU, D, age, verbal intelligence quotient (VIQ) and PPVT were associated with each other (P<0.05 or P≤0.01) except age and VIQ(P>0.05). There were significant correlations between MLU of first one hundred utterances and MLU of last one hundred utterances and between D of odd lexicals and D of even lexicals(P=0.000). Conelusion Language sample analysis proves to be feasible in assessment of language development in preschool children aged 4 to 6 years.

BACKGROUND: Nickel-chromium ceramic alloy with well anti-causticity has been widely used in clinic; however, it should be paid much attention to the toxic and side effects of the released nickel and glucinium ions. Therefore, studies about modifying alloy component, enhancing physical and chemical performance, and improving biocompatibility are hot topics recently. OBJECTIVE: To measure the in vitro cytotoxicity of self-made nickel-chromium ceramic alloy comparing with nickel-chromium alloy and pure titanium metal. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A contrast observational experiment was performed at Central Laboratory of China Medical University from May to December 2006. MATERIALS: L-929 cells at logarithmic phase were used in this study. Self-made nickel-chromium ceramic alloy was provided by Metal Institute of Chinese Academy of Science, pure titanium was provided by Matsukaze Japan Co., Ltd., and nickel-chromium alloy was provided by Heraeus Kulzer Dental Co., Ltd. METHODS: L-929 cells were assigned into nickel-chromium ceramic alloy, pure titanium, nickel-chromium alloy, positive control, and negative control groups. The cells were cultured in 96-well culture plate. Every five wells were randomly selected from each group, and 12 wells were used for the duplication. Cell suspension (100 μL) at concentration of 1.0×108/L was added in each well. Leaching liquor (100 μL) was added in self-made nickel-chromium ceramic alloy, pure titanium alloy, and nickel-chromium alloy groups, respectively, lead leaching liquor (100 μL) was added in positive control group to make the final concentration at 50%, and RPMI 1640 culture solution (100 μL) was added in the negative control group. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Absorbance was measured at day 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 using MTT colorimetric assay to calculate relative growth rate. RESULTS: There were no significant differences in absorbance between three metal groups and negative control group (P > 0.05), but there were significant differences in absorbance between three metal groups and positive control group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). Cell growth rate was > 100% and cytotoxicity was grade 0 in the pure titanium group; while, cell growth rate ranged from 86.36% to 99.49% and cytotoxicity was grade 1 in both self-made nickel-chromium ceramic alloy and nickel-chromium alloy groups. At day 3 after culture, cytotoxicity was grade 2 in the positive control group. CONCLUSION: Self-made nickel-chromium ceramic alloy has a little cytotoxicity and requires for the clinical application.

Objective To investigate the role and mechanism of retinoblastoma protein-associated proteins 48 (RBBP4) in HIV-1 latency.Methods CEM-Bru cells latently infected with HIV-1 were stimulated with 25 ng/ml of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) in combination with 10 ng/ml of interleukin-2 (IL-2).Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) was performed to detect the changes in RBBP4 and in histone deacetylases 1 and 2 (HDAC1/2) binding to long terminal repeat (LTR).Binding activities of HDAC1/2 and RNA polymerase Ⅱ (RNA Pol Ⅱ) to LTR and acetylated histone H3 at LTR region were detected by ChIP after partially interfering the expression of RBBP4 in CEM-Bru cells with electroporation.Initiating and elongated transcripts were measured by RT-PCR.Results The binding activities of RBBP4 and HDAC1/2 to LTR in HIV-1 latently infected cells were enhanced significantly as compared with those in TNF-α and IL-2 co-stimulated cells.Fewer RBBP4 and HDAC1/2 bound to LTR following the interference of RBBP4 expression, which was accompanied with enhanced histone acetylation and strengthened binding activity of RNA Pol Ⅱ to LTR.Moreover, more initiating transcripts were detected in HIV-1 latently infected cells after the RBBP4 expression was interfered by electroporation.Conclusion RBBP4 contributes to the maintenance of HIV-1 latency, in which HDAC1 and HDAC2 might be involved.
