2.Use of Iodine containing salt and preparations
Pharmaceutical Journal 1999;280(8):28-31
It is necessary to use the iodine containing salt and preparation for disease prevention and control. However, we should not forget or consider the adverse effects of iodine containing salt and preparation in case of overdose. It should know the adverse effects of iodine containing salt and preparation and implement correctly the physician's indication to limit and control these adverse effects

3.Evaluation of results of iodine deficiency disorder control program in An Giang province, 1998-2003
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2005;15(1):63-67
The results of a retrospective study of epidemiological surveys was conducted by National Iodine Deficiency Disorder Control Program and periodic surveys were conducted by the Centre of Preventive Health of An Giang in 1998, 2000 and 2003, showed that the coverage rate of households consumed salt with an iodine concentration of more than 20ppm was 29%, 52.9% and 76.5%, respectively. The median urinary iodine concentration was 1.8mlg/dl, 4.4mg/dl and 5.7mg/dl, respectively. The prevalence of goiter in children age 8-10 years was 20.5%, 12.8% and 6.1%, respectively. In 2003, there were still 71.5% of households situated in the iodine deficiency area in An Giang province. The main reasons make people have not used iodised salt are habit of using normal salt; iodised salt is not available and affordable. Although knowledge about the benefit of iodised salt for preventing endemic goiter is 89.4%, knowledge of using iodised salt for preventing creatinism is low (40%).

5.Contribution to a study on the iodine deficiency among Thai minority at Chieng Sinh commune, Son La province
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):43-45
An clinical examination and quantification of urinary iodine were performed in 1,513 Th¸i people with ages of 6-70 at Chieng Sinh commune Son La province. Results showed that the rate of goiter was 11.76% and at mild level of local goiter and the urinary iodine was at adequate level (more than microgram/dl). However, it should monitor continuously to evaluate timely the iodine deficiency

Korean Journal of Medical Physics 2009;20(3):145-151
This study aims to evaluate CT (Computed Tomography) characteristics through the estimation of HU (Hounsfield Unit) and the corresponding variations using coefficient of variation values for various materials as a function of physical factor. HU values for various materials with varying densities as a function of physical factor were measured using MDCT (Siemens SOMATOM Sensation 4, Germany). The results showed that the HU values were decreased and increased as a function of kVp and material density, respectively. Especially, the HU values for bone and iodine at 140 kVp were 32% and 42% smaller than those at 80 kVp, respectively. In case of iodine, the HU values also decreased and increased as a function of kVp and concentration, respectively. While the HU values were fixed as a function of mAs. The decreased ratio of HU values between 80 keV and 140 keV was different at various concentration and maximum difference was shown as 1.73 at 3% concentration. These results indicated that it may be possible to separate composition of materials, e.g. iodine and bone, using single source CT. The results showed that dual energy techniques using single source CT can be applied to material separation and expand CT imaging techniques to other practical applications.

8.Four years (1995-1998) activities of national program of iodine deficiency disorder control leading to the iodine deficiency eradication in 2000s and the iodine deficiency disorder eradication in 2005
Pharmaceutical Journal 1998;261(1):2-3
There are 2 indicators of national program of iodine deficient disorder control including rate of household used iodine contained salt is 90% and above and level of ioduria of children with ages of 8-10 is 10mcg/dL and above. An investigation was carried out throughout the country. Results: the recovering level of iodine in provinces was significantly increased. The level of ioduria was improved. The morbidity rate of goiter is obviously decreased. The knowledge of women in reproductive ages for effects of iodine was improved. However, the rate of households in 9 provinces of Cöu Long river delta that used iodine contained salt is low (50%

9.Study on setting up the method of quality control of iodosoja
Pharmaceutical Journal 1999;282(10):14-15
Iodosoja is an iodine containing organic compound to treat the goiter. This study aimed at setting up the method of quality control of iodosoja. The method involved the qualitative analysis (physical and chemical properties), quantitative analysis (quantification of free iodine, and total organic iodine as chemical method and spectrometry) and determination of stability (selflife) of iodosoja

10.Updates in Familial Non-Medullary Thyroid Cancer.
Korean Journal of Endocrine Surgery 2015;15(1):6-9
Familial non-medullary thyroid cancer (FNMTC) may be considered as a separate clinical entity with variable aggressive biologic behaviors on the basis of previously published studies. Therefore, a family history of NMTC should be carefully considered as a possible prognostic factor when endocrine surgeons set a plan regarding the extent of surgery, radioactive iodine treatment, and follow-up strategy for FNMTC patients.
