4.Hemodynamics of Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation.
Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 1990;19(10-12):1251-1257
The hemodynamic aspects of cerebral arteriovenous malformations(AVM) are currently the subject of increasing interest. Recently developed methods such as Doppler sonography, Xenon-enhanced Computed tomography Cerebral blood flow(CT CBF), single photon emission computed tomography(SPECT), and position emission tomography(PET) have promoted a more dynamic diagnostic and therapeutic approach to the complicated problem related to surgery of AVM. In this article, the literatures concerning the hemodynamics of cerebral AVM were reviewed.

5.Surgical Complications of Arteriovenous Malformations.
Korean Journal of Cerebrovascular Disease 2001;3(1):38-45
OBJECTIVES: The goal of surgical management of cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) is elimination of the lesions without development of new neurological deficits. To improve the surgical management of results of cerebral AVMs in the future, this article discusses about surgical complications of the AVMs and their preventive methods. METHODS: We investigate the methods to avoid the surgical complications of the AVMs based on the our experiences and review of literatures. RESULTS: Accurate anatomical knowledge about location of AVMs, proper reduction of nidus size by preoperative embolization, accurate dissection of peripheral margin of AVMs during surgery, and understanding and proper management of peculiar pathophysiological events of AVMs which occur during surgery and postoperative period are the key points for avoiding surgical complications of the AVMs. CONCLUSION: We conclude that refined skill for endovascular and microsurgical techniques are required to successful surgical treatment of cerebral AVMs.

6.Intracerebral artericvenous malformation in association with aneurysm
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;10():29-32
This association had been reported for long time with a frequency of 2.7-23% of cases of intracerebral arteriovenous connection. This association increases the risk of cerebral meningo hemorrhage. 3 cases of cerebral meningo hemorrhage associated with intracerebral arteriovenous connective malformation were studied retrospectively and treated at Viet Duc Hospital from January 1999 to January 2004. The presence of aneurysm in cerebral arteriovenous connection was an important predictive factor for the hemorrhage possibility, leading to cerebral hemorrhage

Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 2012;51(6):374-376
Endovascular embolization is being increasingly used to treat intracranial arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). However, we experienced two patients with retained microcatheters after AVM embolization using Onyx.

Journal of Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery 2019;21(3):152-157
Stereotactic radiosurgery has become excellent alternative treatment for cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVM). This technique has expanded to treatment of larger AVM which is not amenable to surgical management. However, its variable adverse effects should be also taken into considerations sincerely because of radiobiological characteristics such as delayed onset and progressive neurological deteriorations. Herein, we report a case in which progressively expanding hemorrhagic cyst with repeated bleedings so called chronic encapsulated expanding hematoma was developed on several years after radiosurgery treatment. Neurological and radiological findings were improved by surgical removal.

9.Complications after Radiosurgery of the Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation.
Korean Journal of Cerebrovascular Disease 2001;3(1):54-57
Stereotactic radiosurgery is an effective and widely used surgical procedure for the management of cerebral vascular malformations. Long-term analysis of results has led to an evolution in technique and patient selection, a better understanding of the safe and effective dose reponse, and of the risks to surrounding normal tissue. Radiosurgery is a minimally invasive technique but is not risk-free. Successful AVM obliteration depends on proper stereotactic nidus definition and delivery of an adequate radiosurgery dose.
