Objective To compare the effects of honey dressing and silver sulfadiazine dressing for wound healing in burn patients by Meta-analysis.Methods All the randomized controlled trials were collected by searching many kinds of databases in or out of the country to compare honey dressing with silver sulfadiazine dressing for wound healing in burn patients.Review Manager 5.2 was used to analyze the effects.Results Six randomized controlled trials (RCT) were included.Honey dressing was much better than silver sulfadiazine dressing for burn wounds,while there were no significant differences in positive rate of wound swab culture and healing days.Conclusions It can be proved that honey dressing has an advantage over silver sulfadiazine dressing in the wound healing days within 21 and final outcome.Whether honey dressing is superior to silver sulfadiazine dressing in antibacterial effects and healing days remains to be studied with adequate,powerful,high quality randomized controlled trials.

Objective:To evaluate systematically the association between the c. 415>C polymorphism of NUDT15 gene and the toxicity of 6-mercaptopurine(6-MP)in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL).Methods:The literatures in domestic and foreign databases were retrieved: PubMed, EmBase, Cochrane Library, CNKI, CBM, VIP Chinese Sci-tech Journal Database, and Wanfang Database.The language was limited to Chinese or English.A case-control study or cohort study of 6-MP treatment in pediatric ALL related to the toxicity of the NUDT15 gene c. 415>C polymorphism was included.The time of search was set from the establishment of the database to October 1st, 2020.Two researchers screened the literature independently, extracted data from the literature that met the inclusion criteria, and evaluated the quality of the included studies.The association between locus polymorphism and toxicity during 6-MP chemotherapy was analyzed by Meta analysis with Rev Man 5.3 and Stata 12.0 software.Results:Nine studies were finally included, eight of which were cohort studies and one was a case-control study, with a total of 1 068 patients.The results showed that under the five genetic models, the mutation at c. 415>C of NUDT15 gene was significantly associated with the risk of leukopenia and neutropenia( P<0.01), while hepatotoxicity was with no significant association between the occurrence risk of damage( P>0.05). Conclusion:The mutation at c. 415>C of NUDT15 gene significantly increased the incidence of leukopenia and neutropenia during 6-MP chemotherapy, while there was no significant effect on the occurrence of hepatotoxicity.

Objective To quantify the setup errors for the different anatomical sites of patients who received intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) with linear accelerator on-board kilovolt fan beam CT(kV-FBCT) as non-isocenter IGRT and megavolt cone beam CT (MV-CBCT) as isocenter IGRT. Methods A retrospective analysis was performedon 70 patients who underwent radiotherapy, kV-FBCT, and/or MV-CBCT scans after each routine setup prior to IMRT. The average displacement (M), systematic error (Σ), and random error (б) at different treatment sites in the left-right, anterior-posterior, and cranial-caudal directions were calculated according to the individual displacements. The formula 2.5Σ+0.7б was used to estimate the PTV margin in respective direction. For each single patient, the root mean square in three directions was used as 3D displacement. Results A total of 1130 displacements were recorded in the 70 patients. The PTV margin was estimated to be 1.9-3.1 mm in head and neck cancer, 2.8-5.1 mm in thoracic cancer, 4.6-5.1 mm in breast cancer, 3.0-5.5 mm in upper abdominal cancer, and 3.5-6.8 mm in pelvic tumor. For the 3D mean displacements, the head and neck, thoracic, breast, upper abdominal, and pelvic cancer were 2.4±1.0, 4.0±1.6, 4.1±2.0, 4.6±2.1, and 4.6±2.1 mm, respectively. The average 3D displacement obtained by kV-FBCT and MV-CBCT were 4.1 and 3.4 mm, respectively (P=0.212). Conclusion The quantitative setup-error data can be obtained using linear accelerator on-board FBCT, and the non-isocenter IGRT induced set-up error cannot be negligible.

INTRODUCTIONThe 'DOT & Shop' scheme is sponsored by SATA CommHealth, a local non-governmental organisation. It was launched in July 2009, in collaboration with Singapore's Tuberculosis Control Unit (TBCU). Under this scheme, grocery vouchers are disbursed to low-income patients with tuberculosis (TB) at each clinic visit if they have been adherent to directly observed therapy (DOT). This study aimed to determine the effect of this incentive scheme on treatment completion rates and to report the characteristics of patients who were non-adherent to the scheme.

METHODSThis descriptive study used data from the TBCU medical social worker database and the National TB Registry.

RESULTSFrom July 2009 to December 2012, a total of 883 TB patients were enrolled in the scheme. The overall treatment completion rates of the patients before (July 2006-June 2009) and after (July 2009-December 2012) the implementation of the scheme improved from 85.3% to 87.2% (p = 0.02). Patients under this scheme had a higher treatment completion rate (90.0%) than those not under this scheme (86.4%) (p < 0.01). It was found that the non-adherent patients were more likely to be of Malay ethnicity, younger and unemployed.

CONCLUSIONWe demonstrate the salutary effect of a non-governmental organisation-funded grocery voucher incentive scheme for low-income TB patients on DOT in Singapore.
