Objective To observe the efficacy of proparacaine hydrochloride in preoperative venipuncture. Methods Two hundred and furty patients hospitalized for preoperative venipuncture, between June 2015 to December 2015 in Jiangmen Central Hospital, were equally randomized into the intervention group and control group: the former was treated with proparacaine hydrochloride and the control group used traditional method. Visual analogue scale (VAS) was adopted to assess the effects of the anesthesia effect. At the same time the one-time success rate of puncturing and the adverse reactions were observed and compared between the two groups. Results Patients of the intervention group felt significantly less painful than that the control one (P<0.05). The successful rate of the intervention group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Proparacaine hydrochloride is safe and effective for preoperative which reduces pain.

Since the performance appraisal of national tertiary public hospitals was carried out, higher requirements have been put forward for the operation and management of hospitals. Under the premise of ensuring the quality of medical service and medical safety, how to save hospital operating costs and improve the efficiency is an urgent problem for hospital managers. Supported by information upgrading, a tertiary hospital in Guangzhou reformed the treatment process and carried out pre-hospitalization in surgical departments. Data showed that pre-hospitalization can significantly shorten the length of stay, reduce hospitalization costs, and improve the operation efficiency of the hospital.

Objective To investigate the effect of polycystic ovary syndrome( PCOS) group practice on the patients′negative emotions, and aim to help PCOS patients improve emotions, establish healthy lifestyle and improve the reproductive function, as well as to lay basis for the health care management model of PCOS group practice. Methods In this study, 56 patients whose percentage of body fat ( BF%) was more than 30% were included in this PCOS group practice. We spent 8 to 12 weeks on the health management, and compared the negative emotions before and after the health management. Results Before the health management, the incidence rate of anxiety was 78.6%, the score of self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) was (45.33±7.94), the incidence rate of depression was 51.8%, and the score of self-rating depression (SDS) was (0.49±0.11). After the health management, the incidence rate of anxiety was 51.8%, SAS score was (41.25±8.48), the incidence rate of depression was 30.4%, and the SDS score was (0.45±0.10) (P<0.05). Conclusions The health management of PCOS group practice can improve PCOS patients′negative emotions effectively.

OBJECTIVE To assess the performance of non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) based on massive parallel sequencing. METHODS A total of 10 275 maternal blood samples were collected. Fetal chromosomal aneuploides were subjected to low coverage whole genome sequencing. Patients with high risks received further prenatal diagnosis. The outcome of all patients were followed up. RESULTS High-throughput sequencing detected 72 pregnancies with fetal autosomal chromosomal aneuploidy, including 57 cases of trisomy 21, 14 cases of trisomy 18, and 1 case of trisomy 13. The positive predictive value for trisomies 21 and 18 were 98.25% and 91.67%, respectively. Comparing its performance in intermediate or high risk pregnancies, advanced maternal age pregnancies and volunteering to test pregnancies, the positive predictive value were 100%, 95%, 90% and 50%, respectively. The follow up result was only 1 case of 21 trisomy false negative with high risk. For the 56 cases of trisomy 21, the high risk group accounted for 55%, advanced maternal age accounted for 29%, the intermediate risk referred to 14%, the volunteering to test group accounted for 2%. CONCLUSION The performance of NIPT for trisomies 21, 18 and 13 was satisfactory. The method can be used for women with advanced gestational age. NIPT has offered an ideal secondary screening method for those with an intermediate or high risk, and can reduce the rate of birth defects.
