China Medical Equipment 2016;13(4):61-63,64
Objective:To obtain the volume of thoracolumbar vertebral(T12-L5)in elderly people by CT post processing software, and establish the calculation formula of lumbar vertebral body volume from L1 to L4.Methods: Collect the elderly lumbar CT examination cases, 60 normal elderly people without lumbar lesions were included in this study. The volume of each vertebral body from T12 to L5 was obtained by processing software after a lumbar CT scan. The volume values of vertebral body from L1 to L4 were regarded as dependent variables and the volumes of upper and lower vertebral body was considered as independent variables. All the data were analyzed with multiple linear regression method. Results: There was a correlation between the volume of each lumbar vertebral from L1 to L4 and volumes of adjacent vertebral bodies, and the multivariate linear regression equation between them was obtained successfully. Conclusion: The volume of vertebral body can be accurately measured by CT processing software, and the calculation formula can be used to predict the normal vertebral volume value before fracture. The ratio of bone cement quantity to vertebral volume value can be earned and used to guide the operation of bone cement implantation for the further study.
2.The Effects of Zhigancao and Glycyrrhizic Acid on Transmural Potential of Reverted Mouse Small Intestine in Vitro
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(12):-
Electrical potential difference (PD) was measured across the wall of reverted small intestinal saes of mice. The effect of glycyrrhizic acid on transmural potential related to Na+ and glucose transport were investigated. It was found that both zhigancao (100g/L ) and glycyrrhizic acid (2. 5mmol/L ) decreased the PD (P<0.01).According to the theory of active transport of glucose, we inferred that zhigancao and glycyrrhizic acid possibly produce an inhibitiory effect on Na+. K+-ATP ase, resulted in a blocking effect on sodium channel.

Objectiveto detect polymorphism of asthma related genes. Methods Patients diagnosed asthma were divided into twogroups , one group has genetic susceptibility , the other has no such character. DNA were extracted from the peripheral blood, then TG se-quence in second intron of IL-4 was amplified by PCR, the polymorphism of that segment were then detected through 8% po]yacrylamidegel. Resultfour kinds of penotype were found in such segment. The frequency of phenotype 1 and type 2 of in test group are statisticallydifferent from that in the check group. But the other two phenotype frequencies are just the same in two groups. Conclusionthe differentfrequency of phenotype I and phenotype 2 in two groups may give us some meaning in asthma genetics.

Objective To explore the feasibility of blood oxygen level-dependent (BOLD) MRI to detect the chronic hepatitis b-induced early kidney injury. Methods Seventeen clinically diagnosed chronic hepatitis b patients with early kidney injury and 10 healthy volunteers were enrolled in this preliminary study. The 17 patients underwent dynamic nuclear renography and then subdivided into stage 1 kidney injury group (n=7) and stage 2 kidney injury group (n=10). All of the enrolled subjects underwent BOLD examination and T2* relaxation rates (R2*) of renal cortex and medulla of split kidney, and the ratio between them (R2*med/cor) were measured separately. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were performed on the control group and chronic hepatitis b patients group (kidney injury stage 1 and stage 2 group) to compare the difference of renal cortical and medullary R2*values and R2*med/cor ratio. ROC curves were used to evaluate the efficacy of renal cortical and medullary R2* values and R2*med/cor ratio to diagnose the chronic hepatitis b-induced kidney injury. Results The cortical R2*values of control group, stage 1 kidney injury group and stage 2 kidney injury group were(16.87 ± 0.74)/s,(17.88 ± 0.73)/s,(20.29 ± 2.87)/s, respectively;the medullar R2*values of control group, stage 1 kidney injury group and stage 2 kidney injury group were (28.07±1.03)/s,(31.14±2.49)/s,(32.81±3.28)/s, respectively;R2*med/cor of the of control group, stage 1 kidney injury group and stage 2 kidney injury group were 1.67 ± 0.09, 1.75 ± 0.16, 1.63 ± 0.13, respectively, and the differences among the three groups were statistically significant (F values were 17.779, 19.170 and 3.439 , all P<0.05). Furthermore, the renal cortical and medullary R2* values of chronic hepatitis b patients were significantly higher than the control group, and the the renal cortical R2* value of the patients in stage 2 kidney injury group was also higher than the stage 1 kidney injury group. The area under curve (AUC) of ROC of the renal cortical and medullary R2*values and R2*med/cor to diagnose chronic HBV hepatitis-induced early kidney injury were 0.903, 0.949 and 0.526, respectively. Conclusion It's feasible and has great value to use renal BOLD MRI for the diagnosis of chronic hepatitis b-induced early kidney injury, and the renal cortex is more sensitive than the medulla to the kidney injury.

Objective To compare the proportion of CD3~+T cell and CD4~+CD25~(high) regulatory T cell (Treg cell) and the production of inferon γ ( IFN-γ) and interleukin-12 (IL-12) in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) between patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and healthy people, and to analyze the changes of CD3~+T cell, CD4~+CD25~(high)Treg cell, IFN-γ and IL-12 of NSCLC patients before and after chemotherapy, so as to determine immune function changes of NSCLC patients caused by chemotherapy. Methods Twenty NSCLC patients and 20 healthy volunteers according to the including criteria were selected. Three mL of blood was drawn from NSCLC patients before chemotherapy (0 d), on the 3~(rd) day (3 d) and 7~(th) day (7 d) after chemotherapy. PBMC cells were separated from the blood samples. The proportions of CD4~+CD25~(high)Treg cell and CD3~+T cell (%) in PBMC were tested by FACS, and the IFN-γ and IL-12 (pg/mL) in the supernatants were also detected. Results The proportions of CD3~+T cell in NSCLC patients on 0, 3 and 7 d were (55.15±20.11)%,(57.73±14.08)% and (62.79±7.80)%,respectively, and there was no statistical difference between any two of these results. The proportion of CD4~+CD25~(high)Treg cell in healthy volunteers was (2.14±0.85)%, while that of NSCLC patients was (2.76±0.53)% on 0 d with statistical difference compared to the healthy volunteers (P<0.05). The CD4~+CD25~(high)Treg cell proportion (%) of NSCLC patients on 3 d and 7 d were (2.54±0.57)% and (2.72±0.29)%, respectively, which were both significantly lower than that of 0 d. On 3 d it was even much lower than that on 7 d (P<0.05). IFN-γ and IL-12 of NSCLC patients on 0 d were (34.36±4.38) pg/mL and (33.24±4.36) pg/mL, and no statistical difference was observed when compared with (34.36±4.38) pg/mL and (33.24±4.36) pg/mL in the healthy volunteers. On 3 d and 7 d, IFN-γ of NSCLC patients were (40.42±5.66) pg/mL and (39.27±6.07) pg/mL, respectively, and both were higher than that on 0 d (P<0.05); IL-12 of NSCLC patients were (35.51±5.03) pg/mL and (38.62±6.44) pg/mL, also both were higher than that on 0 d (P<0.05). Conclusions This study suggests that chemotherapy can improve immune functions of NSCLC patients, and may reinforce the anti-tumor immune response.
