Objectives:To observe the clinical effects of combination of propofol and misprostol in surgical abortion. Methods:240 women opting for voluntary surgical abortion were randomly allocated to 3 groups, receiving propofol plus misoprostol, lidocaine and routine menthods, respectively. Comparation was made on the effects of easing pain, cervical dilatation, surgical complications, bleeding amount, uterus contraction, patient satisfaction, etc. Results:The propofol and misoprostol group has higher efficacy and safety in surgical abortion than other 2 groups. Conclusions:Application of propofol and misoprostol in surgical abortion should be a recommended choice when patient can afford.

Objective: To observe the clinical effects of combination of propofol,fentanyl and in surgical abortion. Methods: A total of 184 early-pregnant women were randomly divided into two groups.The women in group Ⅰ received propofol 2.5 mg/kg intravenously(n=92),the women in group Ⅱ received the combination of propofol,fentanyl and atropine intravenously(fentanyl 1 ?g/kg,atropine 0.5 mg,propofol 1 mg/kg)(n=92).To compare the efficacy of those two kinds of anesthesia,many measurements were taken, which included the total dose of propofol applied,induction time,recovery time,self-walking time,operative time,blood loss during the abortion,dilatation of the uterine cervix,blood pressure,heart rate,breathe,pain caused by injection and post-operation uterine contraction. Results: Many differences were found in the group who received the combination of propofol with fentanyl and atropine,when compared to those measurements in the group received propofol only.Significantly less(amount) of propofol was needed.The induction time was significantly shorter.The slowing of heart rate,dropping of blood pressure and reduction of breathing were significantly less.The dilation of the uterine cervix was more complete and took much less time.The pain caused by injection and post-operation contraction was significantly less frequent and less severe. Conclusion: Applying the combination of propofol,fentanyl and atropine has several clinical benefits which include less propofol need,less inhibition to the respiration and cardiovascular system,and less pain caused by injection and post-operation contraction.

OBJECTIVE:To compare the economic value between patent application and know-how,the two measures for intellectual property rights protection of traditional Chinese medicine.METHOD:The legal features of intellectual property rights protection for Chinese traditional medicine were analyzed and its economic value was evaluated with economic model.RESULTS&CONCLUSION:The know-how has a greater economic value to enterprises under the current intellectual property rights protection system.

Objective To estimate the frequency of heart valvular involvement in Chinese patients with Takayasu arteritis (TAK) and its correlation with other clinical features. Methods Ninety-one patients with TAK were studied and their clinical manifestations, laboratory test, vascular images and echocardio - gra-phic findings were retrospectively reviewed. The data were compared between patients who had heart valvular involvement and those who had not. Mann-Whitney U-test or Student's t-test, Chi-squared test or Fisher's exact test were used for analysis. Results Aortic regurgitation and mitral regurgitation were both confirmed in 20 (22%) patients. Tricuspid regurgitation and pulmonary valve regurgitation were observed in 10 (11%) and 2 (2%) patients, respectively. Older age at onset, longer disease duration, hypertension and involvement of the ascending aorta were all significantly more frequent in TAK patients with aortic regurgitation (t=2.903, P<0.01; Z=-2.759, P<0.01; χ2=7.918, P<0.01; Z=-4.454, P<0.01) than those without. However, the constitutional symptoms and acute phase reactants [erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C reactive protein (CRP)] were not statistically different between patients with and without valvular regurgitation (P>0.05). Aortic valvular pathology examination of the three TAK patients who had underwent aortic valve replacement showed no inflammatory cell infiltration. Conclusion This study has demonstrated that heart valve involvement is common in patients with TAK, mainly in the form of regurgitation, and which may be secondary to hypertension and other cardiovascular complications. We should pay more attention to the screening and treatment of heart valvular involvement in TAK patients.

Objective To analyse the mutation of pathogenic gene TSC2 in tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). Methods Using polymerase chain reaction-single strand conformation polymorphism(PCR-SSCP), all the 41 exons of TSC2 gene were analyzed in 4 TSC cases(include 1 suspect case) from one family and 1 sporadic TSC case ,and compared with the kin familial controls and kinless normal controls. Results Missense mutation on exon33 1346S→P (4037T→C) of TSC2 was found in 4 familial cases, and no mutation of TSC2 gene was found in the sporadic case and all the health controls. Conclusion Missense mutation on exon33 (1346S→P,4037T→C)is a new discovery in TSC2 gene of patients with TSC.

ObjectiveTo observe the effects of enriched environment on depressive-like behaviors induced by chronic stress in rats.MethodsAdult rats were randomly divided into stress group and the control group,then after 21 days of stress,rats were raised in an enrich environment (EE) or standard environment (SE)for 28 days.Open field test,forced swimming test and sucrose preference test were used to detect depressive-like behavior in rats.Results ( 1 ) Open field test showed that grid crossing,standing and rearing in stress ( no gap)rats were significantly reduced ( 13.88 ±4.38 vs 45.00 ± 10.19,9.13 ±2.54 vs 16.38 ±4.11 and 4.78 ± 1.39vs 10.51 ± 2.52 ; n =8 ; P＜ 0.01 respectively) ; but grid crossing and standing in stress + EE rats were significantly increased than stress + SE rats (41.61 ± 10.53 vs 26.25 ± 6.18 and 16.79 ± 3.49 vs 11.25 ± 3.12 ; n =8 ; P＜0.01 and P＜0.05 respectively).(2) Sucrose preference tests showed that sucrose consumption and sucrose preference％ in stress ( no gap) rats were significantly decreased than those in the control group ( 5.22 ± 0.94 vs 10.61 ±2.59 and (49.11 ±6.77)％ vs(63.38 ±8.36)％ ; n=8; P＜0.01 respectively).(3) Forced swimming test showed that immobility time was increased in stress ( no gap) rats ( ( 19.5 ± 5.43 ) s vs ( 12.75 ± 3.9 ) s; n =8 ; P ＜ 0.05 ) and was restored by EE compared to SE rats ( ( 10.25 ± 3.57) s vs ( 17.75 ± 5.45 ) s; n =8 ; P ＜ 0.05).ConclusionChronic stress can reduce depressive-like behaviors,and EE can restore depressive-like behaviors induced by chronic stress.

Objective To explore the positive distribution characteristics and analyse the correlation of common food allergen-specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE) with suspected food allergy in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University.Methods Using fluorescence enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay to detect the serum sIgE antibody of 854 patients,including 7 kinds of food allergens (milk,egg white,egg yolk,shrimp,crab,peanut and soybean) from July 2006 to January 2013.Data were processed by statistical software SPSS19.0.Results The positive rates of the 7 kinds of food allergen were 39.3％ (283/720),36.3％ (216/595),9.8％ (28/285),21.2％ (36/170),24.3％ (17/70),14.8％ (9/61) and 10.0％ (5/50).Two hundred and eighty-two patients were detected egg white and egg yolk sIgE,the positive rate of egg white sIgE 59.6％ (168/282) was much higher than the egg yolk sIgE 9.2％ (26/282).The positive rate of the milk and egg white sIgE were different between the age groups and decreased with the age(milk:x2 =792.88;egg white:x2 =658.21,P ＜ 0.01).The degree in level 4 or above of milk and egg white sIgE were 1.08％ (2/186) and 1.12％ (2/178) in positive patients.Five hundred and twenty-eight patients were detected milk and egg white sIgE,26.9％ (142/528) were both positive,sIgE levels in serum of them was moderately correlated (rs =0.758,P ＜ 0.01).Serum sIgE of shrimp and crab was detected in 64 patients,16 cases was positive of the shrimp,17 cases of the crab was positive,both positive in 16 cases,sIgE levels in serum of them were highly correlated (rs =0.973,P ＜0.01).In the simultaneous detection of 34 patients' serum sIgE of peanut and soybean,peanut was positive in 4 cases,soybean was positive in 3 cases,both positive in 2 cases,sIgE levels in serum of them were highly correlated (rs =0.879,P ＜ 0.01).Conclusions Egg white is the major allergen of egg allergy.The correlations of shrimp and crab,peanut and soybean are extremely high,probably because of their homology; egg white and milk are not homologous food,but the levels of sIgE between them display a moderately correlation,indicating the existing of synergistic reaction.

Objective To explore the relationship between acid pocket and acid reflux in gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).Methods From March 2011 to January 2012,29 patients with GERD were enrolled and nine healthy individuals were set as control.All objects of this study accepted esophageal manometry test,acid pocket test,test of the occurrence time of acid pocket and ambulatory 24 hours pH monitoring.The t-test was performed for comparison between two groups.The relationship between the incidence of GERD and acid pocket was analyzed by Logistic regression analysis.Pearson correlation analysis was used for correlation analysis.Results The percentage of acid pocket in GERD group and control group was 58.6％ (17/29) and 5/9,respectively,and the difference was not statistically significantly (P＞0.05).The duration time of acid pocket was (56.3±44.7) minutes in GERD group which was longer than that of control group ((16.0±8.2) minutes) and the difference was statistically significant (t=1.970,P＜0.01).There was no statistical significance in the average pH value of acid pocket between GERD group with acid pocket (2.8 ± 1.3) and that of control group with acid pocket (1.9±0.5,P＞0.05).The duration time of acid pocket was correlated with the longest reflux time in GERD group with acid pocket (r=0.550,P＜0.01).The peak velocity of esophageal motility in GERD group ((3.3±0.6) cm/s) was lower than that of control group ((5.0±4.1) cm/s) and the difference was statistically significant (t=-1.354,P＜0.05).The peak velocity of esophageal motility in GERD group with acid pocket ((3.2±0.6) cm/s) was lower than that of control group with acid pocket ((7.2± 6.3) cm/s) and the difference was statistically significant (t=-2.693,P＜0.05).Conclusions The duration time of acid pocket in GERD is correlated with the time of acid reflux.Esophageal dysmotility may be related with the pathogenesis of GERD and the occurrence of acid pocket.
