Objective To observe the effects of arsenic trioxide(As2O3)on the expressions of TNF-?,Fas and bcl-2 in lung adenocarcinoma cells(LAC)and to explore the mechanism of arsenic trioxide inducing apoptosis. Methods The expressions of TNF-?,Fas and bcl-2 in lung adenocarcinoma cells pretreated by arsenious acid were determined by the double antibody sandwich ABC-ELISA method. Results Compared with the control group,As2O3 showed no effects on the contents of bcl-2 in lung adenocarcinoma cells after 72 hours treatment, but increased the contents of TNF-? and Fas significantly, and the effects in different concentration groups had significant differences. The protein expressions of TNF-? and Fas showed a tendency of concentration-dependent increasing. Conclusions The results suggest that As2O3 induces the apoptosis of LAC cells possibly by up-regulating the expression of TNF-? and Fas.

Objective To explore the value of MRS and DWI in diagnosis of cervical spinal cord injury. Methods The MRI plain scan images of 95 cases who suffering from cervical spinal cord injury were analyzed. They were divided into two groups according to the T2 signal of cervical cord,63 cases in Group A(incomplete injury group)with no abnormal on T2 ,32 cases in Group B(complete injury group)with high signal on T2 .The other 50 cases with no injury of cervical cord were recruited as control group (Group C). All the cases were performed with MRS and DWI.The N-acetyl aspartic acid(NAA),choline compounds(Cho)and creatine(Cr)as well as the peak area of lactic acid (Lac)on MRS,and apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)on DTI were measured separately.Mean-while,NAA/Cho,NAA/Cr,Cho/Cr,Lac/Cho and ADC were analyzed. Results On MRS sequence, the values of NAA/Cho and NAA/Cr were lower in Group B (P <0.05)when compared with Group A.The values of NAA/Cho and NAA/Cr were also lower in Group B,when compared Group C.However, the value of Lac/Cho in Group B was higher than it in Group C(P <0.05).When com-pared Group A with Group C,the value of Lac/Cho only increased in the former. However,on DWI,the value of ADC in Group A was(0.79±0.1 7)×10 -3 mm2/s,lower than that of Group C(0.93±0.1 5)×10 -3 mm2/s (P =0.026);the value of ADC in Group B was(1.21±0.20)×10 -3 mm2/s,significantly higher than that of Group C(P =0.01 7).When compared with Group B,the value of ADC in Group A was a lightly lower (P =0.143)with no statistical significance. Conclusion MRS can noninvasively and quantita-tively reflect the changes of metabolism of medium in injured cervical cord and help characterize the severity and degree of cervical cord injury from metabolic and molecular level.DWI has high sensitivity on early diagnosis of cervical cord injury. The combination of MRS and DWI has important value for formulating reasonable treatment plan and prognostic evaluation.

Objective To investigate the effects of acarbose versus fenofibrate on insulin secretion and insulin resistance in the subjects with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) and hypertriglyceridemia. Methods Eighty subjects were allocated to acarbose group (28 cases),fenofibrate group (30 cases),and control group (22 cases) without intervention for 3 months, and also divided into elderly (46 cases) and younger groups (34 cases). Fasting blood samples were collected for measuring fasting plasma glucose and lipid.Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) were carried out with measurement of plasma insulin and glucose before ad after treatment.Early insulin secretion indexes(△I30/△G30),insulin secretion indexes (HOMA -β) and insulin resistance indexes (HOMA-IR)were calculated. Results After 3-months of treatment, the lipid profile was evidently improved in fenofibrate group. Levels of triglyceride (TG) and total cholesterol (TC) were significantly reduced ( both P < 0.01 ),△I30/△G30 was significantly increased (P < 0.05) and HOMA-IR was decreased (P<<0.01).In acarbose group, levels of fasting plasma glucose (FPG),2hours postprandial plasma glucose (2 hPG) and HOMA-IR were reduced (all P<0.01),△I30/△G30 and HOMA-β were enhanced (P<0.01 or P<0.05).No change of above indicators was found in the control group.Compared with fenofibrate group, acarbose group had higher △ I30/△G30 (P< 0.05),HOMA-β (P< 0.01 ) and lower HOMA-IR ( P < 0.01 ).The improvement of △△I30/△G30 was correlated with the decreasing of plasma FPG,2 hPG and TG(r=0.5812,0.6327,0.3872,P<0.01),while HOMA-1R was related with the decreasing of plasma 2 hPG,TG and TC(r=0.8126,0.4671,0.2895,P< 0.01). HOMA-IR,△I30/△G30 and HOMA-β were lower (P<0.01) and acarbose improved insulin resistance better (P<0.05) in the elderly than in the younger with type 2 diabetes. Conclusions Pancreatic β-cell function declines gradually with aging, acarbose may have advantage over fenofibrate in improving early insulin secretion and resistance which was more relieved by diminishing glucotoxity in comparison with lipotoxity.

Objective:To study the relationship between distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) effusion and the integrity of triangular fibrcarotilage (TFC) in asymptomatic young adults. Methods:Thirty two asymptomatic young adults, 22 males and 10 females with a mean age of 25 year(20-30) were recruited in the study between September 2014 and October 2019. All subjects had no wrist pain, no wrist deformity or wrist mass, and had no history of wrist trauma or surgery. The DRUJ effusion was definedasfluid-like high signal intensityon fatsuppression proton density-weighted MRI.The presence of distal radioulnar joint effusion, the shape of the effusion, and the presence of triangular fibrocartilage abnormalities were documented. Results:Among 32 subjects, 25(78.1%, 15 males and 10 females) presented with distal radioulnar joint effusion on wrist MR images, including linear/tubular in 21 cases(84.0%) and saccular in 4 cases(16.0%).Twenty cases (62.5%) had distal radioulnar joint effusion while the TFC was intact, among whom, the effusion was confined to the proximal side of distal radioulnar jointin 17 cases, and reached the lower surface of TFC in 3 cases. In 5 cases (15.6%) with TFC tear, the effusion reached the lower surface of TFC in 4 cases. There were neutral, positive and negative variations of the ulna in 23, 6 and 3 cases, respectively, among whomthe distal radioulnar effusion was presented in 17, 5, 3 cases, and TFC tear in 1, 4 and 0 cases, respectively. The presence of distal radioulnar effusion was not significantly correlated with genders( P=0.069) or types of ulna variance( P=0.702). Conclusion:The distal radioulnar joint effusion maybe resent in asymptomatic young adults, and it maybe complicated with TFC tear.

Objective:To explore the anatomy and injuries features of the thumb extensor and flexor mechanism with MRI.Methods:Ten healthy subjects without thumb injury and 20 patients with thumb extensor or flexor mechanism injuries were recruited in the study between September 2013 and September 2021. All subjects underwent MRI examination, the MRI features of thumb extensor or flexor mechanism in healthy subjects and patients were analyzed. The imaging findings were compared with the surgical results and confirmed by followed up in patients. Results:The healthy subjects showed homogeneous low-signal-intensity on T1-weighted and proton-fat saturation sequence(PD FS) images. Twenty patients with thumb extensor or flexor mechanism injures(including 8 cases of extensor pollicislongusinjury,1 case of extensor pollicisbrevis injury, 4 cases of flexor pollicislongus injury, 2 cases offlexor pollicis brevis injury and 5casesofpulley injury) demonstrated poor definition in T1WI, and heterogeneously increased signal intensity in PD-FS. Depending on the degree of injury, the fibers may be partially or completely discontinuity of the involved tendons. There was edema in the soft tissues surrounding the injured sites. Conclusion:MRI is an accurate method for evaluation of the anatomy and pathological conditions of the thumb extensor and flexor mechanism.
