Chinese Journal of Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetology 2013;(3):187-189
Objective To study the efficacy of simple Chinese medicine steam spray and comprehensive rehabilitation nursing after facial burn deep Ⅱ degree. Methods 80 patients were randomized into the treatment group (40 cases) and the control group (40 cases). The treatment group was given the treatment of Chinese medicine steam spray. The control group was given the treatment of Chinese medicine steam spray, pressure therapy, physical therapy, rehabilitation training and psychotherapy. The clinical efficacy of two groups was evaluated respectively after 3 months. Results After 3 months, the skins of most of patients in the treatment group were nearly normal with no pigmentation and scar hyperplasia. The cure rate was 72.5 %,the obvious effective rate was 12.5 %,and the effective rate was 7.5 %.Some patients in the control group were lightly and inconspicuously pigmented, but the pigmentation area was reduced. The colour of their skins was not different from that of the normal skin. The cure rate was 42.5 %,the obvious effective rate was 12.5 %,and the effective rate was 25.0 %.The effects of the two groups were significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusions Comprehensive rehabilitation nursing after the facial burn can reduce the pigmentation and scar hyperplasia and improve the quality of life.

5.Effects of Low Intensity Treadmill Training on Spatial Learning and Memory and Expression of Glycogen Synthase Kinase-3β in Hippocampus in Mice
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2013;19(11):1016-1019
Objective To investigate the effects of low intensity treadmill training on spatial learning and memory and expression of glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β) in hippocampus in mice. Methods 24 female C57BL/6J mice of 3 months were assigned into control group (n=12) and exercise group (n=12). They were assessed with Morris Water Maze task 5 months after exercise. The GSK-3β protein and mRNA expressed in hippocampus were determined 1 week after the task. Results The latency and path length to escape onto the hidden platform decreased in the exercise group (P<0.05), while the cross times increased (P<0.05) compared with the control group. The level of GSK-3β mRNA decreased (P<0.05) and ratio of p-GSK-3β-Ser9 to GSK-3β increased (P<0.05) as well. Conclusion Low intensity treadmill exercise may improve the spatial learning and memory in mice, which may down-regulate the expression and activity of GSK-3β.

Objective To evaluate whether ?G-455A gene polymorphism increases the risk of coronary heart disease(CHD) due to elevated plasma fibrinogen. Methods A total of 1 485 patients who had received coronary angiography due to chest pain or suspected cardiac ischemia by non-invasive examination were included in the study.According to the angiographic results, all the patients were divided into the control group(n=466) and coronary heart disease group(n=1 019).Patients in the coronary heart disease group were further divided into stable angina pectoris group(SAP,n=674) and acute coronary syndrome group(ACS,n=345) according to their clinical presentation. We investigated G-455A polymorphism of ? fibrinogen gene and plasma fibrinogen level in all the patients. Results Increased plasma fibrinogen levels were observed in CHD groups compared with controls(ACS: 380.92?92.35 mg/dL,SAP: 352.49?94.89 mg/dL,control: 311.72?87.09 mg/dL,P

Objective To study the effects of erythropoietin(EPO) and angiotensin receptor blocker on the expression of eNOS and Bcl-2 after cerebral ischemia. Methods The model of focal cerebral ischemia was made by occluding middle cerebral artery(MCA) for 2h and reperfusing for 48h in healthy Sprague-Dawley rats. The rats received EPO 3 000u · kg-1 · d-1 or valsartan 40mg · kg-1 · d-1 by intraperitoneal injection just before the beginning of reperfusion and after reperfusion. The expression of eNOS and Bcl-2 was detected. Results Compared with ischemia group,Bcl-2 and eNOS expressions in EPO-treated group and EPO-ARB treated group were significantly increased (P < 0.05).eNOS expression in ARB-treated group was significantly increased (P < 0.05),Bcl-2 expression was up-regulated,but it had no significant difference. Conclusion EPO had protective effects on cerebral ischemia-reperfu-sion injury in rats, which partially mediated by up-regulating of Bcl-2 and eNOS expression.Angiotensin receptor blocker had protective effects on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats, which partially mediated by up-regulating of eNOS expression.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Nutrition 2009;17(2):117-119
Objective To analyze the causes of non-elective removal of pereutaneously inserted central venous catheters (PICC) in premature infants. Methods We retrospectively collected the clinical data of 104 premature infants and analyzed the causes of non-elective removal of PICC. Results PICC was removed when the treatment was finished (n = 93, elective removal group) or due to complications ( n = 7, non-elective removal group). In non-elective removal group, the percentage of catheter tip located in the subclavian jugular was signifi-cantly higher in non-elective removal group than in the elective removal group (X2 = 24.931, P = 0. 000 ). The length of inserted catheter was ( 8.4 + 2.2 ) cm in the non-elective removal group and ( ( 10.2:1:1.6) cm in the elective removal group ( t = 3. 391, P = 0. 001 ). Conclusion The main cause of non-elective removal of cathe-ters in premature infants may be that catheter tip fails to reach the vena cava.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects and its underlying mechanis m of bisphenol-A (BPA)exposure on spine and synapse formation in detate gyrus (DG)area of hippoca mpus during criti-cal develop mental period.METHODS Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats were injected intraperitoneally with BPA (50,250 and 500 μg·kg -1·d -1 )fro m postnatal day 7 (PND7)to PND14.Dendritic spine morphol-ogy in DG area was exa mined using Golgi-Cox staining method and determined with I mage J software. Western blotting method was e mployed to test the Wnt related proteins.RESULTS The spine density and the average spine head size in BPA exposed groups significantly decreased in a dose-dependent manner when co mpared to control group(P<0.05).Meanwhile,Wnt related proteins were affected dur-ing BPA exposure.Specifically, the percentage of phosphorylated β-catenin increased following BPA ex-posure (P<0.05),whereas Wnt7a expression level was significantly decreased and Wnt5a expression level increased (P<0.05).CONCLUSION Wnt signaling pathway plays an i mportant role in BPA-in-duced i mpairments in spine and synapse formation.
