Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2012;16(7):1237-1240
BACKGROUND: Serum levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) can be used to predict cardiovascular injury.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the serum levels of hs-CRP in a rabbit model of atherosclerosis following repeated long-termexposure to positive acceleration and to predict the risk of cardiovascular injury.METHODS: Twenty-four New Zealand purebred rabbits were randomly divided into a positive acceleration group and a controlgroup. Rabbits in the positive acceleration group were exposed to +4 g rotation for 20 seconds with an acceleration of 1 g/s. Therotation interval was 5 minutes and totally three rotations were daily performed for 3 days per week. 0.5 g rotation was addedevery week, and by week 4, +6 g rotation was added, and the exposure lasted for 40 seconds.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Exposure to positive acceleration yielded significant effects on serum level of hs-CRP in rabbitswith atherosclerosis compared with before exposure (P < 0.01), but exposure time did not produce effects on serum level ofhs-CRP (P > 0.05). The interaction between exposure to positive acceleration and exposure time also did not produce significanteffects on serum level of hs-CRP (P > 0.05). Hyperplastic foam cells in the aortic tunica intima and the superficial layer of mediaincreased with the prolongation of exposure to positive acceleration. Repeated long-term exposure to positive acceleration maylead to a long-term high serum level of hs-CRP in rabbits.

Percutaneous myocardial revascularization (PMR),building on the succeeds of transmyocardial laser revascularization (TMR),has developed that allows TMR-like channels to be cradated via a percutaneous approach. This catheter based approach avoids the morbidity associated with general anesthesia and thoractomy or thoracoscopy. It also avoids transmural treatment of the myocardium by the laser.Although its mechanism remains unclear, many patients with intractable angina and non-bypassable coronary artery disease have benefited from the new system. It is hoped that PMR will mimic the clinical benefit of TMR,and will gradually become a main method in treating end-staged coronary artery disease.

Objective To evaluate the effect of metformin on endothelial function in women with polycystic ovary syndrome. Methods 30 women with PCOS were enrolled.Metformin were taken 500mg three times a day contiguously using 3 months. Before and after treatment flow-mediated EDD function and other clinical metabolic parameters, such as serum endothelin-1,insulin,testosterone,glucose,lipid,waist-hip ratio, body mass index. Results After the treatment of metformin in study group,WHR,BMI and endothelin-1 have no significant difference compared with before the treatment(P>0.05).But the changes of brachial artery diameter and HDL were increasing and LH/FSH,T,insulin,HOMA-IR,TG and LDL were significant decreasing after the treatment in study group compared with before the treatment(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in WHR,BMI,endothelin-1,the changes of brachial artery diameter,LH/FSH,T,insulin,HOMA-IR,TG and LDL between the study group after the treatment with the control group.Meanwhile,HDL were significant increasing in the study group after the treatment compared with the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion There are impaired endothelial function and insulin resistance in women with PCOS.After the treatment with metrormin, the endothelial function and insulin resistance could be improved.

Objective To explore the angiographic characteristic of lower extremities of patients with diabetic foot. Methods The angiographic results of 35 lower extremities of diabetic patients, the characteristics of respective clinical stages and the stenosis degree at different arterial segments were undergone statistical analysis. Results (1) A lotal of 210 arterial segments were divided into the above-knee and the below-knee section. There was significant difference in stenosis degree between the two sections (P

Objective: To examine the relationship between parental rearing and adolescent personality traits. Methods: A sample of 637 adolescents was tested by CAPI and EMBU. Results: Neuroticism of girls is higher than that of boys, but interpersonal harmony, face and defensiveness of boys is higher than those of girls. Extraversion, openness and agreeableness of only child is higher than those of other adolescents. Most correlations between parental rearing and Adolescent personality traits are significant. Parental warmth and understanding have positive effect on adolescent extraversion, agreeableness and conscientiousness, and father punishment and mother refusal have negative effect on adolescent agreeableness and interpersonal relationship. Conclusion: Adolescent personality is greatly affected by parental rearing.

Objective To study the influence of sole massage on children’s analepsia from general anesthesia. Methods One hundred children in analepsia period were divided into the test group(50 cases)and the control group(50 cases). The routine nursing and monitoring during recovery stage were done in the control group.Based on the routine monitoring and nursing care as in the control group, the test group received sole massage for 10 minutes. The two groups were compared in terms of declining percentage of SpO2, rate of nausea, blood pressure,heart-rate variability, and post-analepsia dysphoria scores.Result The test group was significantly lower than the control one in all the indexes of the declining percentage of SpO2,rate of nausea, blood pressure,heart-rate variability, and post-analepsia dysphoria scores(all P<0.05).Conclusions Sole massage during children’s analepsia from general anesthesia is effective not only in lessening their declining percentage of SpO2,rate of nausea, blood pressure,heart-rate variability, and recovery dysphoria mark, but also easing their dysphoria, anxiety and fear.It may create a good condition for children to live through analepsia period successfully and safely.

AIM: To study the effects of Sini Decoction's effective component(SNDE) on myocardial apoptosis and ceramide content during myocardial ischemla/reperfusion. METHODS: The mice of Kunming species were randomly divided into 3 groups: control, myocardial ischemia/reperfusion and SNDE.After inducing myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury of mice in vivo with pituitrin(Pit),myocardial SOD activity and MDA content were measured.DNA agarose gel electrophoresis and fluorescent stain of DAPI were done to check up apoptosis. The content of myocardial ceramide(?g/kg) was measured through HPTLC and scan of thin plate. RESULTS: The myocardium of model group has the phenomenon of DNA ladder. The apoptosis index and the ceramide content in model group were higher than those of control group(P

Objective To study the anti-myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury effect of Sini Decoction's active fraction(SNDAF).Methods Experimental animals were randomly individed into normal, model,Sini Decoction(SND),and SNDAF groups.Rat hearts were perfused by the Langendorff method. The model of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury was reproduced by adjusting the flow of perfused liquid. The perfused liquid of normal and model groups was KH buffer saturated by oxygen. The perfused liquid with SND or SNDAF was mixed with KH buffer. The coronary flow and contract power of myocardium at 0 min of ischemia and 1,5,10,20,30,40,and 50 min of reperfusion were tested, respectively. The incidence of reperfusion arrhythmias(IRA) in the first 1 minute of reperfusion was calculated.Mice were given drugs by ig for 3 d and then myocardial ischemia-reperfusion models were established by ip pituitrin(20 U/kg).ECG of mice was recorded at 0—80 min after ip administration. SOD activity, and the contents of MDA and LA in myocardium of mice were measured. Results Both SND and SNDAF could reinforce myocardial contract and reduce the IRA in the first minute of reperfusion.SND had better effect on IRA than that of SNDAF.SNDAF had better effect on myocardial contract than that of SND.SND and SNDAF could significantly drop ECG J point raise induced by ischemia, and increase SOD activity, and decrease contents of MDA and LA significantly in ischemia myocardium. There were no significant difference between SND and SNDAF.Conclusion SNDAF could improve oxidative injury and suppress(ischemia) of myocardium, reinforce myocardial contract, and reduce the incidence of arrhythmias during(myocardia) ischemia-reperfusion.
