The capacity to generate iaterleukin-2(IL-2)of,and autologous rosette forming cel-ls(ARFC)ratio of 46 cancer patients(29 nasopharygeal carcinoma,11 lymphoma and6 leukemia)were studied.A several important things have been found as follows:(1)There was a significant decrease in capacity of cancer patient peripheral blood mono-nuclear cells(PBMC)to generate IL-2 after being stimulated for 48 hr by PHA(18%,whencompared to controls;P0.05);(3)The cancer patient plasma could markedly inhibit IL-2 generation,but control plasmadid not.This result suggested that the patient plasma contain immunosuppressive fact-or(s)which can block IL-2 generation;(4)ARFC ratio in cancerpatients was greatlylower than that of controls(10% and 22% respectively;P

Objective To explore the elasticity of carotid artery in children with simple obese by echo tracking imaging technique.Methods Intima-media thickness (IMT), resistent index (RI), pulsatility index(PI ), the ratio of systolic phase and diastolic phase(S/D ) of common carotid artery (GCA) were detected differently in 50 simple obese children (obese group) and 50 normal children (control group) by CDFI.Internal systolic diameter (Ds), internal diastolic diameter (Dd),pressure-strain elastic moduhs(E ρ ), stiffness parameter ( β ), arterial compliance (AC), augmentation index (AI), pulse wave velocity ( PWV β ) were calcuhted automatically by means of echo tracking system.Results There was no significant difference in Ds,Dd,RI, PI,S/D and AI'between two groups (P >0.05).In obese group, IMT was significantly thicker,E ρ,β, PWV β were significantly higher,and AC was significantly lower thon those in control group (P < 0.05).Conclusions It has alteration of early atherosele in carotid artery of simple obese children.Echo tracking imaging technique is a quick, noninvasive, accurate and quantitative evaluating method for the elasticity of carotid artery.

Leydig cells derived from a SD rat aged one month were transplanted to the hind leg subcutaneous of a 2 week-castrated outbred rat. At 1, 3, 4, 6 months after implantation, the grafts were removed and taken to have a histochemical staining for 3?-hydroxygsteroid dehydrogenase (3b-HSD), light and electron microscopy. The results indicated that there were a lots of 3b-HSD positive leying cells in the grafts. The well revascularized and no lymphocytic infiltration were seen around the implanted cells with 4 months after transplantation. Electron microscopy displayed that the implanted cells had abundant mitochondria and smooth endoplasm reticulum, suggesting that the implanted ceils could survive and had better secretary testosterone function for 4 months.

Objective To study the expression of S100B and glial fibrillory acidic protein (GFAP) after primary brainstem injury in rat and discuss the changes with brainstern injury time and their mechanism in the injury. Methods The brainstem injury animal model was established using the mechanical impact-ing method. The HE staining, Gless argentaffin staining and SP immunohistochemical method were ap-plied to observe the changes of S100B and GFAP at different injury time. The immunostaining results were measured statistically with imaging analysis technology. Results A large number of S100B positive cells could be seen in 30 min. Afterward, expression increased gradually with time and peaked up in 24 h, and reversed back the normal in 72 h. The GFAP positive cells showed rise continually in 30 min, and reached the peak in 48 h, then started to decrease, but still higher than that in control. Conclusion The expression of S100B and GFAP is correlated with post traumatic intervals after brainstem injury in rat, and may be useful in estimation post traumatic intervals and nerve regeneration.

1. Microsurgical relationships of the arteries at the base of the brain and the trigeminal nerve were studied bilaterally on 30 brains. Twenty seven trigeminal nerves made contact with the arteries 33 times which represents 55 percent of the cases. Six of 27 trigeminal nerves had double contact.2. Of 33 arteries in contact with 27 nerves, seventeen involved the superior cerebellar arteries (SCA) (28.33?5.82%), seven the anterior inferior cerebellar arteries (AICA) (11.67?4.15%) and nine the middle inferior cerebellar arteries (MICA) (15.0?4.61%).3. The outer diameter of the superior cerebellar artery is the largest averaging 1.41?0.20 mm; the anterior inferior cerebellar artery comes next averaging 1.06?0.36 mm and the middle inferior cerebellar artery the smallest, averaging 0.62?0.14 mm.4. 27 trigeminal arteries arising from the upper or middle segement of the basal artery were found on the ventral surface of the trigeminal nerves in 17 brains, and 16 trigeminal branches arising from the AICA. MICA. and PICA were also found at the roots of 16 trigeminal nerves. Anastomoses were noted between the trigeminal arteries and the trigeminal branches in four cases of 16 trigeminal nerves.5. It is suggested that the neurovascular contact either from dorsal or ventral aspects may be the anatomical cause of the trigeminal neuralgia.6. The neurovascular contact of the trigeminal nerve with the SCA was usually on the dorsal or dorsalmedial aspect of the nerve, but the point of contact with AICA or MICA was mainly on the ventral aspect of the nerve. Besides, there are trigeminal arteries and trigeminal branches at the ventral surface of the nerve. All these topographic observations provide microsurgical information for neurosugeons.

Objective To explore changes of levels of interferon‐γ(IFN‐γ) ,interleukin‐32(IL‐32) and interleukin‐6(IL‐6) in pe‐ripheral blood and the correlation between peripheral IFN‐γ,IL‐32 ,IL‐6 and liver function level and hepatitis B virus(HBV) DNA load in HBV carriers .Methods Sixty HBV carriers ,including 39 cases of chronic HBV carriers and 21 cases of inactive hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg) carriers ,and 50 healthy individuals were collected .Serum levels of IFN‐γ,IL‐32 and IL‐6 ,the amount of HBV DNA and liver function were detected ,and clinical correlations were analysed .Results Compared with the control group ,ser‐um levels of IFN‐γ,IL‐32 and IL‐6 of chronic HBV carriers and inactive HBsAg carriers were significantly increased (P<0 .05) . Compared with chronic HBV carriers with low amount of HBV DNA loads and high amount of HBV DNA loads ,chronic HBV car‐riers with medial HBV DNA loads had higher serum levels of IFN‐γ,IL‐32 and IL‐6 ,but no statistically significant differences were observed(P>0 .05) .There was positive correlation between IL‐32 level and ALT level (r=0 .32 ,P<0 .05) ,and negative correla‐tion between IL‐32 level and ALB level(r= -0 .27 ,P<0 .05) .Conclusion IFN‐γ,IL‐32 and IL‐6 may play important roles in chro‐nic HBV infection ,the levels of IFN‐γ,IL‐32 and IL‐6 could be used as important indicators to assess the severity of inflammation in HBV carriers .

Objective To investigate the correlation between the liver fibrosis markers laminin(LN),hyaluronan acid(HA),col-lagen Ⅳ(CⅣ)and procollagen type Ⅲ N-terminal peptide(PⅢNP)with the replication of hepatitis B virus(HBV)DNA in the pa-tients with chronic HBV in Lanzhou.Methods Real-time PCR and chemiluminescent immunoassay(CLIA)were used to quantita-tively measure serum HBV-DNA and liver fibrosis markers in 724 cases of HBV infection in Lanzhou with the different clinical classifications and the natural history stage as the background.Results The values of the liver fibrosis indicators and HBV-DNA level in all clinical types were higher than normal levels,and reached to maximum in the liver cirrhosis goup;CⅣ and PⅢNp were highest in the HBeAg (+)CHB group;according to the hepatitis B natural history stage,the PⅢNP and CⅣ values reached the peak value in the immune clearance phase,moreover the CⅣmean value in the HBeAg and HBV-DNA (+)group was higher than that in the HBV-DNA and HBeAg (-)group.4 indicators in the HBeAg (+)CHB group were higher than those in the HBeAg (-)CHB group,but only HA had statistical difference(P <0.01 ).Conclusion There is certain correlation between CⅣ with HBV-DNA and HBV-M,indicating that which can indirectly reflect the degree of liver damage and viral replication level.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical effect of negative pressure drainage after septum surgery. METHOD: One hundred and two cases with septum deviation were randomly divided into two groups, i. e. experimental group and controlling one. With 51 cases in each. Degree of comfort and complication of two groups were compared. RESULT: The cases in experimental group showed significantly relieved postoperative reaction with negative pressure drainage, when compared with that of controls, the incidence of complication were not increased. CONCLUSION Negative pressure drainage can be taken as one of the ideal materials for hemostasia after septum surgery.

Objective To evaluate the application of mobile ultrasonoscope in earthquake rescue. Methods According to the characteristic of environment and traumatic conditions in earthquake area, the mobile ultrasonoscope was used to diagnose for clinicians, and the advantages and disadvantages were evaluated. Results The mobile ultrasonoscope played an important role in routine diagnosis, such as organic injury and calculus, superficial organellae injury, soft tissue injury, injury of limbs and blood vessels, gynaecology and obstetrics and so on. As far as certain conditions were conferred in which the mobile ultrasonoscope was seldom used to diagnose in common practice, it played a dramatic role too in bone fracture, joint damage, craniocerebral injury and foreign objects. Conclusion In routine diagnosis or certain conditions, the mobile ultrasonoscope is very practical, especially in earthquake rescue.

Background and purpose:Metformin is known to be an insulin sensitization agent and is a fi rst line treatment for patients with type 2 diabetes. Recent clinical studies have revealed that metformin treatment has been associated with reduced cancer risk,which indicated that metformin may be a potential anti-neoplastic agent. We investigated the effects of antidiabetic drug metformin on proliferation and apoptosis in human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549 in vitro and explored the possible underlying mechanisms. Methods:A549 cells were treated with 0.5 mmol/L,2 mmol/L and 8 mmol/L metformin for 48 hrs. Growth inhibition rates of the cells were measured by MTT assay. Cell apoptosis were detected by ? ow cytometery(FCM). Expressions of three genes including p53,Bcl-2 and Bax mRNA in the cells were measured by Real-Time PCR. Results:The proliferation of A549 cells was inhibited by metformin in a dose-dependent manner. The Inhibition rates of metformin at dosage of 0.5 mmol/L,2 mmol/L and 8 mmol/L group were (29?5)%,(68?3)% and (84.1?2.6)%,respectively. Apoptosis was induced when the cells were treated with moderate to high concentrations of metformin.The percentage of cells in early and late stage of apoptosis was increased from (1.1?0.3)% and (1.78?0.22)% in controlled group to (2.1?0.5)% and (9?4)% in metformin 8 mmol/ L group,respectively. The expressions of p53,Bcl-2 and Bax mRNA were all up-regulated after metformin treatment while the Bcl-2/Bax ratio was signifi cantly decreased. Conclusion:Metformin can inhibit the proliferation of human adenocarcinoma cancer cell line A549 and induce cell apoptosis with moderate to high drug concentrations in vitro,which may partly be attributed to the up-regulation of p53 and down-regulation of the Bcl-2/Bax ratio.
