Objective To investigate long-term care needs and its influencing factors among old people with chronic diseases in nursing homes in rural area of Liaoning. Methods A total of 502 elderly with chronic diseases were recruited using convenience sampling method from eight nursing homes in rural area of Liaoning, and were investigated with the general information questionnaire, Short Form 36-item Health Survey (SF-36) and long-term care needs questionnaire from March 2015 to January 2016. Results Logistic regression analyses were used to identify that age (P=0.000), old patients′ disease condition (P=0.008), marriage (P=0.013) and quality of life (P=0.000) were major factors affecting long-term care needs. The top three highest percentage services were seeing the doctor 85.26% (428/502), assisting with taking the medicine 80.28% (403/502), assisting with bathing 70.32% (353/502). Conclusions This study suggests that we should improve the quality of services of long-term care needs based on the demands of old people with chronic diseases in nursing homes in rural area.

Objective To construct the recombinant RIP3 over-expressed plasmids and transfect them in breast cancer MCF7 cells, and identify the expression and localization of fusion protein, as well as its effect on the death way of MCF7 cells. Methods The expression levels of RIP3 mRNA in four breast cancer cell lines and normal mammary epithelial cells were detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The RIP 3 coding sequence was amplified by polymerase chain reaction and subcloned into mCherry vector to construct recombinant plasmids. The plasmids were transfected into MCF7 cells by lentivirus after DNA sequencing, then screened by basticidin (4 mg/L) for 1 week. The efficiencies of RIP3 expression were validated by Western blotting assay. The death way of mCherry-RIP3-MCF7 cells was observed under the treatment of TNF-αand Z-VAD-FMK. Results The lowest expression of RIP3 mRNA was found in MCF7 cells. The sequencing results validated the well recombinant plasmids. The expression of mCherry-RIP3 fusion pro-tein with a molecular weight of 85 ku was detected by Western blot assay. The mCherry-RIP3 expression enhanced the sensi-tivity of MCF7 cells to TNF-αand Z-VAD-FMK induced cell death. Conclusion The recombinant RIP3 over-expressed plasmids were successfully constructed, and the stable MCF7 cells with ectopic RIP3 transfection were obtained. The mCher-ry-RIP3 fusion protein was expressed in the cytoplasm and was conformed to mediate TNF-αinduced necroptosis.

Objective To observe the therapeutic efficacy of continuous arterial infusion chemotherapy combined with radiofrequency hyperthermia in the treatment of patients with advanced colorectal cancer. Methods A total of 20 advanced colorectal cancer patients with various distant metastasis were treated by the combined continuous intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy and radiofrequency hyperthermia. For the chemotherapy,a dose of 200mg/m2 surface body area of calcium folinate(CF) was given for 1 to 3 days.80mg/m2 of cisplation was infused intravenously for the first day and repalced by etoposide Vp16,60mg/m2 for 1 to 3 days in patients with renal dysfunction. For intra-arterial infusion,a dose of 500mg/m2 5-FU was given for 72 hours. For patients with liver metastases, chemoembolization(ADM 30mg/m2+MMC 6mg/m2 mixed with ultra-lique fied lipiodol) was carried out.Radiof requency hyperthermia with a frequency of 41MHz was performed on the second day after chemotherapy. Results Response rates were as sessed by CT scan and ultrasonography. The overall response rate(CR+PR) of the cases was 70.0%.No serious side effect or complication was found in the course of chemotherapy.Local pain and lipid nodule were occasionally observed in some patients after hyperthermia. Conclusion Continuous intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy in combination with radiofrequency hyperthermia is an useful and safe method for the treatment of patients with advanced colorectal cancer.

Objective Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is widely used as a spice in cooking and as a medicinal herb in traditional herbal medicine. The present study was to investigate the analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities of ginger oil in experimental animal models. Methods The analgesic effect of the oils was evaluated by the acetic acid and hot-plate test models of pain in mice. The anti-inflammatory effect of the oil was investigated in rats, using rat paw edema induced by carrageenan, adjuvant arthritis, and vascular permeability induced by bradykinin, arachidonic acid, and histamine. Indomethacin (1 mg/kg), Aspirin (0.5 g/kg) and Dexamethasone (2.5 mg/kg) were used respectively as reference drugs for comparison. Results The ginger oil (0.25-1.0 g/kg) produced significant analgesic effect against chemically- and thermally-induced nociceptive pain stimuli in mice (P < 0.05, 0.01). And the ginger oil (0.25-1.0 g/kg) also significantly inhibited carrageenan-induced paw edema, adjuvant arthritis, and inflammatory mediators-induced vascular permeability in rats (P < 0.05, 0.001). Conclusion These findings confirm that the ginger oil can be used to treat pain and chronic inflammation such as rheumatic arthritis.

Objective To investigate the diagnosis value of the tissue strain imaging in myocardial dysfunction in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods Sixty-two patients and sixty controls underwent conventional and tissue Doppler echocardiography. Peak strain and strain rate value during systolic and diastolic phases as well as E/A, left ventricular fraction shortening (LVFS), left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) were measured in both SLE and the control groups. Results ①E/A,LVFS and LVEF did not differ between SLE patients and controls( P >0.05). The systolic peak strain and strain rate of SLE patients were lower than those of controls but without significant differences( P >0.05). ②The diastolic peak strain and strain rate of SLE patients were significantly lower than those of controls (P <0.01). ③ The diastolic peak strain and strain rate of antiheart antibody (AHA) positive patients were significantly lower than those of negative ones( P <0.05). Conclusions Strain and strain rate combining with AHA can sensitively detect myocardial dysfunction of SLE.

Objective To analyze the basic clinical characteristics, auxiliary diagnostic indexes, bacterial infection spectrum and drug resistance of child urinary tract infection to provide the basis for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of child UTI.Methods The clinical data in the inpatients with UTI or complicating UTI in our hospital from January 2012 to March 2014 were collected. The repeated strains were excluded. The differences in the pathogens between the patients with complicated UTI and the patients with non-complicated UTI were comprehensively analyzed. Results The onset peak of child UTI for the first time was 0 -0.5 years old.Escherichia coli ,Klebsiella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are the major pathogens of child UTI,in which 110 strains were Escherichia coli, accounting for 52.9%.The enterobacteriaceae pathogens of UTI had higher sensitivity to carbapenems antibacterial drugs, with the resistance rate of less than 10%;the resistance rate of others detected antibacterial drugs was more than 20%.Con-clusion UTI in the children inpatients of this area has higher drug resistance rate,in the treatment of child UTI,the antibacterial drugs should be rationally used by combining the bacterial drug resistance situation in the local place and the disease severity in or-der to avoid the aggravation of bacterial drug resistance.
