The aim of the study is to investigate the effect of nardosinone (Nar) on neuronal injury induced by oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) in primary cortical cultures isolated from embryos at gestational day 14. MTT method was used to determine the dosage regimen of Nar in primary neuronal cultures and observe the influence of Nar on the neurons suffering OGD; Western blotting analysis was used to detect expressions of protein kinase A (PKA), Ras related protein 1 (Rap1), mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 1 (MEK1) and phospho-extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (p-ERK1/2) of OGD-injured or uninjured primary cultured neurons after Nar treatment. Results showed that Nar (50 and 100 micromol x L(-1)) improved the cell viability during OGD damage (P < 0.01) and increased the expression of PKA, Rap1, MEK1 and p-ERK1/2 in injured neurons. Additionally, elevations of PKA, Rapl, MEK1 and p-ERK1/2 in uninjured neurons were caused by Nar (50, 100 and 200 micromol x L(-1)) with a dose-dependent tenclency as well (P < 0.01). In conclusion, Nar could protect against the neuronal injury exposed to OGD, which may be relevant to the promotion of PKA and ERK signaling pathway.

Objective:To investigate the trademark registration situation of grade-A tertiary hospitals in China, so as to analyze the current situation of hospital brand protection and explore suggestions for hospital brand protection. Methods:The top 50 hospitals ranked in the 2021 National Hospital Comprehensive Ranking by the Hospital Management Research Institute of Fudan University, excluding military hospitals, were selected as the sample hospitals. The trademark registration information of the 50 sample hospitals was queried through the China Trademark Website of the Trademark Office of China National Intellectual Property Administration on March 15, 2023, and the registration of the full name, abbreviation, hospital emblem and other trademarks of the hospitals was counted. Results:Among the 50 sample hospitals, 26 hospitals already held hospital brand trademarks, which meant that at least one of the hospital′s full name, abbreviation, and emblem was registered as a trademark, accounting for 52%; 7 hospitals did not hold any trademarks, accounting for 14%; 17 hospitals held other trademarks but did not hold hospital brand trademarks, accounting for 34%. Among the 26 hospitals that already held brand trademarks, 11 hospitals only registered in one category. There were 3 hospitals with expired registered trademarks. Conclusions:Nearly half of the sample hospitals did not hold hospital brand trademarks, indicating that the trademark registration and brand protection of tertiary hospitals in China need to be strengthened. It is suggested to establish a hospital brand protection system, clarify the trademark management department, standardize the responsibilities of trademark management, and improve the use of trademarks, so as to do a good job in hospital trademark registration and brand protection.

The reuse of high-cost single-use medical devices (SUD) is permitted in many countries, such as the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom, but strict regulatory requirements must be met. In addition to regulatory policies and regulations, such as market access mode and special requirements on Good Manufacture Practice (GMP), there are strict technical requirements on the potential risk control and quality assurance system. Therefore, effective risk assessment and risk control technology are the keys to ensure effective quality control and safe use of SUDs. In this article, based on analyzing the technological requirements of the national regulatory on SUDs in the United States, Germany and Britain, and combined with the review from latest relevant literature, to discuss the strategies of how to carry out scientific risk assessment. Some risk control technologies on the reuse of SUDs are introduced, which will provide support for the further study on risk control strategies and regulatory decisions for the reuse of SUDs in China.

Journal of Southern Medical University 2019;39(6):724-730
OBJECTIVE:
To analyze the relationship between and gene methylation with aging in the general population.
METHODS:
We collected peripheral blood samples from 284 male and 246 female healthy subjects for detection of methylation levels of and genes using quantitative methylation-specific PCR (qMSP). The relationship between the methylation levels of and genes and aging was analyzed using Spearman or Pearson correlation test.
RESULTS:
We found a significant positive correlation between the methylation levels of the two genes in these subjects ( < 0.05). In the overall population as well in the female subjects, methylation was found to be inversely correlated with age ( < 0.05). The methylation levels of and genes were inversely correlated with TG, ApoE, Lp(a) and AST in the overall population ( < 0.05). In both the female and male subjects, the methylation levels of the two genes were inversely correlated with Lp(a) ( < 0.05). In the male subjects, methylation was inversely correlated with AST ( < 0.05), while methylation was inversely correlated with HDL and ApoE ( < 0.05). In the female subjects, methylation was positively correlated with LDL and inversely correlated with ApoE and AST ( < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONS
The methylation levels of and are closely related to age and the levels of multiple proteins in healthy subjects.
